The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. There is always something arranged for the residents eg Irish dancers, bagpipes on St Patrick's Day. The animals that visit are always loved by residents. We feel all
the activities contribute to residents sense of well being. Thank you for your outstanding service!

All the different departments link smoothly together to deliver a professional and caring service to the residents. Everyone is very polite and cheerful producing a welcoming atmosphere for all.
Special mention must go to the entertainment team. The activity coordinators go above and beyond what is
expected of them to deliver a wide & varied full seven-day programme. Their compassionate & kind approach to the residents never wains and is clearly appreciated by all the residents who look forward eagerly to each activity. This is not just observed by myself but is echoed when I speak to the residents who always sing their praises.
All the staff are dedicated to the caring service they supply they create an atmosphere in which the highest level of care can be given.

After spending a month of respite in Prince George's care home I have to say at first unwillingly, I then found that in some ways I was reluctant to leave! I made some friends there and have since been back to visit. Whilst staying there I have to say the staff were all superb, really helpful and kind
and even encouraging my rehabilitation even when I was not keen. I recently went back on a visit to a friend and was lucky enough to pick an afternoon/early evening where there was some entertainment. It was a group of young lads who were a tribute to a British rock band from the 60's. Not only was I made to feel most welcome it was also nice to see families enjoying themselves with their loved ones. The staff really put themselves out to make sure that everyone was included and had a great time and I really enjoyed it as did everyone and the band.

Dad has been here for a few years. The care he receives from everyone here is amazing and as a family knowing he is so well looked after is great.
The Activity Team ensures that there are lots of different activities-/entertainment and encourages the residents to take part and join in.

The Prince George team of staff made such a big difference - not only did they go above and beyond to make my auntie feel safe and loved they helped her to feel at home and all the daily activities and friendships were developed with all the staff who were always cheerful and happy. All the events and
entertainment including the Christmas trip to Ruxley Manor and the local area were so interesting and she loved the Easter chick's arrival and interaction with 2 dogs that made her so happy. My auntie told me it was one of the happiest parts of her later life and she felt loved by all the staff. I can never put into words what a special care home Prince George Duke of Kent is - it was beyond our expectations for the team's kindness, love, and respect. Thank you.

It is just over 18 months since my mother moved into the dementia unit at Prince George Duke of Kent Court. The care my mother receives goes beyond anything we as a family could ever have imagined or expected. We have on this new and at times challenging journey, learnt so much and taken inspiration
from the hard-working, dedicated and supportive team that my mother is so very fortunate to have. Whilst we know mum is safe, happy and so well looked after by the team, it can be a little difficult at times as a family (untrained of course) to know if we are saying or doing things the right way, doing enough or maybe at times expecting too much of her. This is, however, always so well understood and supported by the team and any doubts or apprehensions we may have had have always been met with complete compassion and reassurance which has enabled us to gain a greater understanding of dementia and in turn educate us in the best ways we can help to support Mum.

The care given to my Dad is fantastic. He is so well looked after. He is in the Nursing section and the Nursing team are so kind and patient with him. Apart from diabetes, he also has dementia. What I also like about the home is the activities team provides great entertainment all the time. More than
happy with my Dad's care at Prince George.

An amazing home from home! I was extremely satisfied with the care my mother received at Prince George Duke of Kent Court. The facilities are excellent, her room was very comfortable with ensuite. The residents move around the home as they wish to the lounges where there are daily activities. In the
summer the garden is lovely to sit out in. The food is excellent and there is a good choice. A pre-meal drink can be purchased at the bar. The staff are kind and attentive, always have time for your questions/queries. My mother moved to their dementia wing during her stay. An amazing place with special care. We were glad we had chosen Prince George Duke of Kent Court.

Ill health made it necessary for my mum to move into residential care at the age of 95. She had become thin, her mobility was poor and she had given up on life. I knew Prince George was right for her from my very first visit. It is light and airy, with plenty of staff and residents and a very friendly
atmosphere. I was impressed by the caring, attentive attitude of the staff.
Since moving in six months ago, Mum has gained weight, her mobility has improved so she can now get up and down stairs, she is more confident and outgoing and is back to her old self. She is always full of praise for the staff, who treat her with kindness, respect and affection. She has spent many happy hours out in the garden, has been on local outings and joins in lots of activities. I visit often and have been to several excellent social events there for friends and family. I can't praise the staff highly enough, and knowing Mum is so happy gives me peace of mind.

It is a huge worry when your parent has to move into a home but I highly recommend this home as it really does have a lovely homely atmosphere. It is always clean, warm and welcoming. My Mum is currently in the dementia house but has also been in residential.
I can’t praise the staff highly enough
that care for her currently. She is always cared for with dignity and respect and whenever I visit, which is frequently, the staff are always caring and kind to the residents and so friendly to visitors who are able to visit at any time without any prior notice.
Mum uses the hairdressers and her clothes are well laundered. Her room is nice and spacious. Food and activities are good & varied. Mum's mobility has really improved since moving here, staff are very patient with getting her moving,
The home is well run and on the few occasions I have needed to talk to management or nursing staff I have always been given their time without any hesitation and any requests have been dealt with promptly.

No amount of words would be enough to express my gratitude for all the care, kindness and devotion you gave to my husband during the latter years of his life. Thank you too for all the support you've given to my son and me.
It is truly an amazing caring care home and one which I most definitely could
recommend. It also has facilities for residents to go on their little coaches to areas of interest and has an amazing entertainment organiser too. All in all an excellent care home I could thoroughly recommend.

I visit every Saturday and there is always a problem getting into the building, no one to answer the door. After a previous discussion, I was told that the reception area would be open at the weekend. So far this is not the case.
The staff are so helpful and I can see they care for the residents.
The
activities are not always well received by residents, as is the food. It's hard when your relative is complaining about most things including activities and food. The food seems to be the biggest issue.
The home is always so hot even on very hot days, the heating seems to be on all the time. This must cost so much money, which I assume is within our monthly cost. Can this be looked at?
It's hard to decide if it's value for money, unless we receive a full breakdown of the costs.

Thank you for your feedback, we have made changes at the front reception area by relocating the Shift Leader in charge downstairs and is now situated on the ground floor. The admin assistants are now working at the weekends, giving more cover for visitors and phone calls out of hours, at all other times the shift leader or Nurse on duty will answer the door.
The heating is only on during the colder weather and during the summer months we have air conditioning in all communal areas although some of the residents request for this to be switched off as they feel the cold.
There is a wide variety of activities across seven days a week to ensure inclusion for all our residents and they can choose what they would like to take part in according to the program, for those who do not wish to take part there are one to one sessions available.
A new catering company is now in place and we regularly hold food committee meetings with the residents and chef manager to obtain their feedback.

I cannot praise Prince George Duke of Kent Court highly enough; it is efficiently run but with a caring and friendly approach. I have had connections with the home for a number of years now with family and friends residing here and I have been so impressed with the level of care provided. The staff
here are excellent; from managers and admin to carers and kitchen staff, everyone plays their part in making this home the success it is and ensuring that the needs of the residents are met. It's a very happy environment.

I am very happy with the care my mother receives. There is a happy atmosphere when you enter the home. All staff from housekeeping/catering to the management are friendly and approachable and it is lovely to see them interacting with the residents.
There are now lots of varied activities taking place
which residents are encouraged to join in with from entertainers, local school pupils visiting, games, gardening, keep fit, therapy dogs, music therapy, craft activities, outside visits for the more physically able residents as well as lots more.
When agency staff are required they are usually regulars so they know the resident's needs very well.
Visitors are always made welcome and the home arranges family days.

The staff at the home are brilliant- all the carers, office staff, kitchen staff and cleaners have a wonderful relationship with the residents giving it a really homely feel. The residents are very well looked after with their individual needs catered for. Visitors are welcome at any time and several
events are arranged throughout the year for fun family days. There are outings arranged for those who are able to go out and so many activities in the home. Also outside entertainment are there regularly, singers, musicians and people giving talks etc.

My 100-year-old mum has mixed Alzheimer's and dementia and has been at Prince George Duke of Kent Court for nearly four months now. After an initial settling-in period, she is now very content. The staff are amazing, extremely caring and treat her with kindness and respect and I have nothing but praise
for them. When you walk into the home it is warm, bright and welcoming and everybody is friendly. My mum describes the food as 'just like home cooked'. Mum also visits the little hairdressing salon there weekly and the staff often paint her nails so she always looks lovely.
I am so grateful and relieved that my mum is being cared for at Prince George Duke of Kent Court and have total confidence that she is living her best life there.

The overall level of care given and service is very good. Staff are always approachable and ready to answer any questions. Some parts of the home need a little TLC, but this is being looked into. Things are starting to open up again at the home, which is lovely. Activities and entertainers taking place,
although craft activities could be looked at/addressed.

My father is happy in Prince George Duke of Kent Court during the covid pandemic staff coped extremely well in difficult circumstances. My father likes to play golf on the little putting green they have, he regularly plays dominoes with other residents and grows his own tomatoes and tends to them every
day which gives him a sense of purpose. He is taken out on visits to the garden centre and offered daily activities. Festivals are celebrated.
The food provided is excellent; breakfast offered includes cooked breakfast, toast, cereal and tea or coffee. Lunch and dinner are two-course meals with options to choose from. There are also drinks and snacks available throughout the day.
My father has a link worker, but all the staff know him well and are aware of his likes and dislikes. All the staff treat my father with respect and offer him privacy and dignity when assisting him with personal care. His care plan is reviewed with me regularly. Admin and management go over and above to assist with any queries.

Nina Stephens

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 1994

Nina joined RMBI Care Co. in 1994 as a student nurse at our care home Prince Michael of Kent Court in Watford in Hertfordshire. She immediately felt a strong connection with residents and a passion for supporting people living with dementia. After completing her QCF studies (NVQ Levels), Nina was promoted to Shift Leader and was able to develop her leadership skills.


Nina took over as Home Manager at Prince George Duke of Kent Court in Chislehurst in 2022 and is committed to using her experience and skills to develop staff and support residents to have the highest quality of life.


Nina said: "We actively promote person-centred care at Prince George Duke of Kent Court as we are merely guests in our residents' Homes, with the sole purpose of ensuring they receive the highest standards of care."


"Our residents play a big part in the decision-making for all the areas of our Home, whether that is recruitment, menu choices on the food committee and general decoration of the Home. We value everybody’s opinion," added Nina.
