The home is surrounded by gardens containing a large collection of rose bushes as well as many shrubs, providing pleasant areas to sit and relax. A concrete path borders the garden, allowing residents with frames or wheelchairs to have unrestrained access. Part of the lawn area is laid out for putting, which is enjoyed by residents, their family and friends.

We are very pleased with the care being given to my mother. We personalised her room with her own furniture so it is very homely. When the aid bell is pushed, help always arrives promptly. The communal facilities could do with updating which I understand is in the pipeline. The food, however, could
do with improvement - "not very appetising" to quote my mother. An exception was the excellent Christmas lunch which was much appreciated. The staff are lovely.

My Mother is 94 and has been a permanent resident since Nov 2019 after 2 previous respite stays. After a warm welcome, my Mum soon settled in and has embraced her new life in Prince George. The home is clean and food good. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff treat the residents with dignity and
have time to chat and engage with them. There is a monthly activities programme and occasional outings and the facilities are good. Christmas was lovely in the home with parties and special events and Christmas morning was buzzing. My Mum, although has mobility issues, would soon tell the family if she was unhappy or had a problem. Visitors are given a warm welcome and encouraged. My Mum particularly likes she is not regimented - residents can choose what they do and go to bed when they wish. As a family member said, it's like a hotel with assistance. After viewing other homes I consider this by far the best and through my Father's masonic connection grateful she can be there.

My wife has been a resident since October 2018. In this time her mobility has actually improved due to the encouragement of the caring staff. All members of staff/management work to a professional, caring and compassionate standard. The home run a 'Dreams come True' project for residents. Under this
scheme, a day out to Hearne Bay in the home's mobility equipped minibus was arranged for my wife, son, daughter and two granddaughters, together with a carer and a volunteer driver. We met up with a life long friend. We all had fish and chips overlooking the sea. Fabulous day. Thanks to you Prince George Duke of Kent Court. Overall I am very happy with what the home is doing for my wife and myself.

Nobody likes to put a relative into a care home but I am very pleased with the care that he receives. The staff and management are very caring and keep you well informed of any problems or concerns. My only complaint is the bedrooms. Obviously I know they have to be cleaned but I feel they are very
hospital-like and not very homely. It is comforting to know that Dad is being well looked after.

I was in respite in this care home following a hip replacement, and also previously for a respite stay when my daughter was away. During both periods of respite I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful and the food very good. The interior of building itself could do with updating, however,
and it would be nicer if the bedrooms could be either ensuite or at least each bedroom have its own toilet.

My mother went to Prince George Duke of Kent Court in August last year. She has settled in very well and made some very nice friends there. The staff are always approachable and very friendly, they always acknowledge my Mum when they see her and always speak to us and update us if they have any concerns.
Food is of a good standard as is entertainment which has something arranged most days. The take the residents out for days and outings. The home is clean and well cared for with lovely gardens to sit in. The manager is always available and works very hard.

The care given to the residents of this home is outstanding. This includes all personnel that work there carers, office staff, kitchen staff, facilities everybody. The home is kept clean and tidy at all times. The food is exceptional and you will definitely not starve here. All in all outstanding.

After 3 attempts to place my husband in a caring home, unsure of his safety - finally, I was introduced to Prince George Duke of Kent Court. First impressions were positive - warmth and friendliness. So at Christmas 2018, we place him in a lovely sun-filled room with his own facilities. The Christmas
entertainment was brilliant and we danced together. Wonderful experience for everyone. But the best is the total love and constant awareness towards all residents - everyone is special. The dining room is a lovely experience, full of good food and personally served. Even the laundry is perfect! In fact, I cannot fault any aspect of Prince George Duke of Kent Court. Thank you all.

At all times, my wife and I have found the home to be caring and kind and well managed.
A cross section of very aged residents are well looked after. There is also a good level of stimulation eg musical performance.
Prior to my mother-in-law (plus her husband at the time), I visited four other homes
in the area. The atmosphere and facilities at Duke of Kent compared very favourably with the competition.

My father moved to Prince George Duke of Kent Court 6 months ago. It is professionally run, with well trained and supportive staff and management. Dad's room has its own toilet and wash basin and is fitted with a ceiling hoist if needed as he is wheelchair bound. Like the rest of the building, it is
clean and light with adequate space. Dad has liked the food and having eaten with him there, I can confirm that it is very nice. There are varied activities each month and dad has been to Herne Bay with a small group and looks forward to a trip to Hyde Park in April. Communication with relatives is good.

They continue to provide excellent help to my wife who is totally dependent on them. Any queries I have get answered/dealt with almost immediately. My wife sometimes requires different food to the menu due to her disabilities which they are only too willing to oblige. Her health is very well monitored.

My mother is receiving excellent care at the Prince George. The permanent staff are professional, compassionate, patient and attentive to the needs of both the residents and their families. The home care manager is exceptional, readily approachable and responds promptly to issues raised. Overall the
atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Considerable effort has been made to improve the activities on offer. The food is good. The only negative is Mum’s room which is rather small.

Knowing my dad is in safe and caring hands takes the worry away from me, he had become a recluse not hearing or seeing anyone for days. He is definitely happier now. All management and staff are so caring and attentive. Just the one negative is his room, it is not very homely.

They are led by a caring and highly competent management team who succeed in ensuring that residents receive the care and attention that they need. But importantly they go that extra mile

Nina

Nina Stephens

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 1994

Nina joined RMBI Care Co. in 1994 as a student nurse at our care home Prince Michael of Kent Court in Watford in Hertfordshire. She immediately felt a strong connection with residents and a passion for supporting people living with dementia. After completing her QCF studies (NVQ Levels), Nina was promoted to Shift Leader and was able to develop her leadership skills.


Nina took over as Home Manager at Prince George Duke of Kent Court in Chislehurst in 2022 and is committed to using her experience and skills to develop staff and support residents to have the highest quality of life.


Nina said: "We actively promote person-centred care at Prince George Duke of Kent Court as we are merely guests in our residents' Homes, with the sole purpose of ensuring they receive the highest standards of care."
