Prince George Duke of Kent Court is a purpose-built accommodation, located in a beautiful area of Chislehurst in Kent, with a rich history.

The home is surrounded by gardens containing a large collection of rose bushes as well as many shrubs, providing pleasant areas to sit and relax. A concrete path borders the garden, allowing residents with frames or wheelchairs to have unrestrained access. Part of the lawn area is laid out for putting, which is enjoyed by residents, their family and friends.

I have become frustrated by my mother's clothes going missing from her room, given that I do all her washing. She has her own laundry basket in her room.
The potty in her commode does not get cleaned often enough!! Smells when the lid is lifted. It has been reported to the staff.

I regularly visit my father. Usually at least once a week. He seems content with his care. I have spoken, on occasions, to staff about the cleanliness of his room and there is now a marked improvement. I have requested an eye and hearing aid check so far have not heard and result. I assume there will
be news when I next visit.
The staff are very approachable but sometimes I feel request are not always followed through.
I have sometimes had lunch with my father and each time the meal has been good.

I think the home is pretty good though no experience of any other. We (the residents) are all with varying disabilities and think the carers do their best for us. Of course, like any other organisation, some staff are better than others.


I have a room with an ensuite with a loo and basin, however,

I am now in a wheelchair so need 2 carers to put me on a commode or take me to the bath or shower.


The food is varied and there are a lot of activities. It is expensive if you are having to pay yourself like me but I get the impression it is better than other homes.

This was my second visit - again, when my family went on holiday. I was so well looked after and fed extremely well - even to an early morning cup of tea in bed. My family appreciate the fact that's nursing care is available if needed. Personally, I tell everyone, I am off to my "holiday hotel". Staff
were all happy and cheerful.

My father spent the last three, and happiest years of his life at Prince George Duke of Kent Court. He moved to Chislehurst after the death of my mother and quickly settled into a safe and caring environment. His room was light and clean and had a lovely view. He was never bored as he always had someone
to talk to or a planned activity to participate in. The staff and the residents were amazing and they became his extended family, he absolutely flourished.


On warm sunny days, he would sit outside in the beautiful garden reading his newspaper or playing golf on the putting green or sometimes just idly passing the time of day. He was always treated with the utmost respect and dignity. I enjoyed visiting him and would regularly stay to lunch. The food was always of a high standard and beautifully presented. The staff were always extremely kind and caring towards my father, nothing was ever too much trouble. They are lead by a strong, dynamic and highly organised management team.

This is a truly 5-star care home for the elderly. "Caring" runs through every single member of staff even maintenance and office staff display a caring nature. Food is excellent, attention is first class and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Activities are many and varied.

My nan moved into the home in March 2017 as she was falling a lot at home and had given up on life. Since being at Prince George she has improved so much and is enjoying life again. It's lovely to see nan socialising with others and attending the various activities that go on within the home.

My wife who has mixed dementia is well cared for by the staff. In the three years, she has been assisted she has had only two key workers looking after her. They give me weekly reports on her condition and changes and if they need any input from me. The supervisors have also been with her for three
years. They monitor her progress and update me. If she has had an infection or a fall, I am told immediately. The quality of care is excellent. My wife has her diabetes and her condition is controlled by diet. Her menu is varied, nutritious and keeps her healthy. There are daily activities and all the staff are very caring.

My father has been a resident at Prince George Duke of Kent Court for many years. The staff - nursing, catering, office, premises etc have all been very good. The nursing staff are caring and patient and my father's last days (he died on the 1st April 2017) were made comfortable and he was nursed with
great kindness. Our grateful thanks to them all.

Nina

Nina Stephens

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 1994

Nina joined RMBI Care Co. in 1994 as a student nurse at our care home Prince Michael of Kent Court in Watford in Hertfordshire. She immediately felt a strong connection with residents and a passion for supporting people living with dementia. After completing her QCF studies (NVQ Levels), Nina was promoted to Shift Leader and was able to develop her leadership skills.


Nina took over as Home Manager at Prince George Duke of Kent Court in Chislehurst in 2022 and is committed to using her experience and skills to develop staff and support residents to have the highest quality of life.


Nina said: "We actively promote person-centred care at Prince George Duke of Kent Court as we are merely guests in our residents' Homes, with the sole purpose of ensuring they receive the highest standards of care."


"Our residents play a big part in the decision-making for all the areas of our Home, whether that is recruitment, menu choices on the food committee and general decoration of the Home. We value everybody’s opinion," added Nina.
