My mother has been a resident at Southborough for over a year. Having visited quite a few nursing homes in the area, I chose Southborough because I liked the relaxed atmosphere and the staff there, including a great activity manager, plus I liked the building and the gardens are really lovely. The care
there is excellent; the nursing staff are friendly, responsive and professional and most have been there for some years, which is always a good sign. They always keep me informed if there is any change in my mother's health or medication. The carers are lovely too - friendly and caring - and although there has been some turnover in management and carers in the last few months, they seem to work well together, getting to know the residents and listening to any concerns.

My neighbour was placed in Southborough after a lengthy stay in hospital.
The management and staff were very caring.
They made every effort to keep my neighbour comfortable in the last few days of her life.

My mother passed away a few days ago after being a resident for over four years. Although bed bound, she was always clean and well cared for by the staff which was a great comfort to our family and we thank you all for that.

She was a resident at Southborough Nursing Home for three years. She was always treated with compassion, care and her individual likes and dislikes and worries were always addressed. I was always informed of any change in her condition. The nursing care was excellent - professional and knowledgable
as well as caring. All staff including housekeeping etc had the same high standards. Her end of life care was exemplary.

We have always found the staff are pleasant and helpful. The staff always phone me to report any health issue which is considerate. It has always been a friendly atmosphere when you enter but just recently this has changed due to a change of staff at the top so it seems. I know people have different
characters but it makes a lot of difference when you enter.

The atmosphere at Southborough is warm and friendly. The staff are welcoming and work well as a team. They make an effort to get to know the residents and there is a real feeling that family is important. My husband has a rare neurological disorder called Multiple System Atrophy. He moved into Southborough
nursing home in August 2018. An MSA specialist nurse came to the home to train the nurses so they could learn about his illness. I was impressed with the care plan they have made. The nurses are always happy to discuss with me any concerns I may have about his care. My only concern is that on some weekends they have been short staffed.

I found Southborough Nursing Home a lovely place. It is located in a quiet area, the building is atmospheric and a lot has been done to make it very comfortable for residents. Staff are helpful, always smiley, polite and accommodating. Although my partner cannot leave his room, I have seen the spacious
common areas with TV and all. I am happy that my partner's children chose Southborough Nursing Home for him.

My aunt has been a resident for just under a year, so enough time to form a considered opinion. Due to a decline in health, I have seen at first hand how the home caters for both a relatively capable resident and more recently one confined to her bed.


Overall, my aunt has been happy at the home,

though her health decline has inevitably affected this.
The variety of lounges available to residents is a bonus, as is the range of activities. My aunt particularly enjoyed the trip to Hampton Court and winning the bingo!


The food has a 5* hygiene rating and appears excellent but I have only rated it good simply because my aunt can only consume pureed food and has limited taste so it's hard to judge objectively.


The staff are mostly well motivated and there appears to be a planned training programme.
Finally, one note of caution. The home changed ownership in about March this year and time will tell what medium/long term impact this will have.

My wife of sixty years had a stroke which left her unable to stand, swallow and speak in slow signs of understanding. From my point of view, Southborough Nursing Home staff have shown my wife gentle care and understanding of her physical and mental difficulties.

My husband had a stroke in 2005 at home, I was with him when it happened. After an operation he was then moved to LRH Southborough 2 years later.
My husband is very happy here, my daughters and I are happy he's here because the home is nice, quiet, clean and my husband is well looked after.

Southborough Nursing Home has a warm and caring atmosphere. I feel the staff do know my mother and are always helpful, supportive and caring and kind to her and to her family. I was pleased to see fresh energy and enthusiasm for activities within the home for residents as well as outings. My sister
and I both live a long way from Southborough Nursing Home but over the last year have been able to facetime our mother thanks to the help of the activities coordinator, this has been a great joy and worth such a lot to us and I believe to my mother.

My mother has been here almost six months, having moved from a nearby nursing home which closed. Once settled she has been content here, treated will and with regard to her own needs. She is mentally very alert, enjoys quizzes and conversation within limits of her deafness. She enjoys her food and for
the most part is good. The staff are unfailing friendly though sometimes short staffed. Communication with families is excellent.

I am delighted at my appointment as a Home Manager at Southborough Nursing Home. I’ve been within the care industry for 12 years, in which I have managed a nursing home with nursing and Dementia care. I did my nursing in India and completed my BSC Hons in Nursing from Surrey University at Guilford. I enjoy my role as a Home Manager and enjoy the fact that I am able to influence a difference to enhance the lives of the individuals who we are privileged to care for. I am always available and happy to help with the smooth running of all the departments at Southborough Nursing Home. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and meeting you in the near future.


On a personal level, I am married and have two wonderful girls named Manit and Seerat. I enjoy spending time with my family and my two daughters.

A bit about my background: I bring over 14 years of experience in Health and Social Care within Care homes. In my previous roles, I've had the opportunity to work as a Deputy Manager alongside experts in safeguarding, nurse practitioners, and individuals with extensive experience in managing care homes. These experiences have provided me with a strong foundation in supporting vulnerable adults while also facilitating the support and development of staff.


As Deputy Manager, I am committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where each team member feels empowered to excel. I believe in the power of communication, transparency, and teamwork to overcome challenges and achieve our goals. As Deputy Manager, my priority is to ensure that every decision we make revolves around the well-being and happiness of our residents and enhance their quality of life. I am able to recognise the importance of family and community in the lives of our residents. Therefore, it is essential to have collaboration and open communication with families, as well as engagement with the wider community, which enriches the care experience.


On a personal level, I was born in Romania, I came to the UK in 2009 and I became a British Citizen in 2021. I have three children and my hobbies are photography and technology. I have two degrees, one in management economics and one in adult nursing (the nursing degree was obtained in the UK at Brighton University).

I am grateful for my role as Lifestyle Lead at Southborough Nursing Home, part of the Future Care Group. I love interacting with the residents – adding some positive energy and joy to their day is a gratifying experience. As part of my role, I create fun activities for our residents with music, and movements and constantly seek to add something new to our activity calendar with their input. Seeing them smile and being part of moments where they share a lovely thought or reminisce about their lives has been wonderful and makes me think of the words “Love what you do, and you never work a day in your life”.


I may sing for one resident, dance with another and laugh loud with a third and have a deep conversation with another – a potpourri of a day – and I get to be myself through it all, which is the best part! I love being in the moment with them and strive to treasure special memories on camera to be shared with families and on social media! My role involves making special occasions memorable and fun for the residents, and this is not possible without the support of the wonderful team here at Southborough Nursing Home, which is what makes this a great place to work – everyone cares!
