Having recently undergone an impressive £4 million refurbishment, Rowanweald looks as wonderful as it feels. But it’s the team, which includes highly skilled nurses, which make this home feel really special.

The team are dedicated to enriching the lives of their residents and their loved ones, who are embraced into life in the home and are welcome to visit at any time. They are passionate about residents having an active role to play in how their home is run and most importantly – having choice.

The home’s resident ambassador is proud of his role and does everything from welcoming new residents to the home and providing feedback to the team, to creating a special spot in the garden for his fellow residents.

There is always so much going on at the home, from gentle exercise sessions and arts and crafts, to gardening and music.

As part of not-for-profit Sanctuary Care’s extensive investment into the home, Rowanweald has a beautifully refurbished hair salon for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser. There is also a new café area, which is lovely spot to relax with loved ones.

The residents enjoy home-cooked food prepared by the chef in the dining rooms, with freshly baked biscuits and cakes for afternoon tea. And there are welcoming lounges to relax and enjoy activities.

In the centre of the home is an enclosed courtyard garden, with raised flower beds and seating, plus there is another side garden.

Situated close to a country park, Rowanweald overlooks the High Street of Harrow Weald and has ample parking.

Our mother has Vascular Dementia and is severely mentally impaired. Following a massive stroke in 2019, she could no longer return to her care home as she needed 24 nursing care. Mum became a resident at Rowanweald. The team are very kind and approachable. We know mum is really well looked after, she’s
safe and secure. It’s been really hard during the pandemic but the manager made sure we could celebrate her 87th birthday together. It was so lovely for us to see her looking glamorous and out of her bed.

From when my mother entered Rowanweald in August 2020 until she passed away in January 2021, she was treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. Although she was nursed in bed for the most part, many of the staff took time to talk with her and listen to her stories and also asked me about her
life. While updates about her health were necessary, it was equally important to know about her state of mind. Being able to visit in the last days of her life meant a lot. Regular informative emails were sent by the manager.

Our sister was very happy, and well looked after.
We were kept informed of her health and well being throughout her stay.
Although her condition worsened, she was always pleased to see us and cheerful.

I continue to praise the home for the wonderful care my mother is receiving and the support relatives are getting at these difficult times. It’s hard not being able to visit more than we can but understand the reason why. This is made easier knowing my mum is getting wonderful care, support and company.

Dad was already in a Sanctuary Residential Home but fell and broke his hip last Christmas while in my care at my home. Following a spell in hospital, he transferred to Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home and over time, although very frail, has recovered fantastically well. This improvement is no
doubt down to the wonderful care given to him by the staff from top to bottom at the Home. My dad is happy and comfortable, receiving the attention deserved.
A special note of thanks must go to the leadership team at Rowanweald who run a very happy, caring and efficient team.
I am aware a complete refurbishment was started just before Dad moved into the home. Unfortunately, this halted when the first COVID-19 'Lockdown' began. It is hoped the work will restart soon. I am sure the 'Cleanliness' and 'Rooms' grading will then rise.
Overall, I must again commend all the staff for the care they provide for Dad - Thank you so much. I would have no hesitation recommending Sanctuary to others.

Since the day Mum arrived, it felt like home from home. As always, any kind of change can be daunting, but with the help of everyone, Mum's induction was wonderful. The level of engagement is tremendous and would happily recommend this home to anyone found in the same position.

My wife came to Rowanweald in November 2019 as she has many needs, including dementia, and requires a lot of physical assistance. I have found all members of staff at Rowanweald to be extremely helpful and very kind to my wife. I was worried about leaving my wife in a care home, but honestly feel she
is being well cared for in the best place for her.

I could not be happier with the care that Dad is receiving. Everyone I have met at Rowanweald has been caring, thoughtful and responsive – the team are simply the best. I live some distance away and I am given peace of mind knowing that someone is caring for Dad and always looking out for him. At 98-years-old
plus Dad has even got used to using FaceTime thanks to Rowanweald. In these difficult times, Rowanweald has clearly and consistently kept me up to date with everything, and I feel confident that they are truly professional in everything they do.

Everyone at Rowanweald provides an incredible service and genuinely cares. They go the extra mile in all aspects of their job - and that has been especially so during the Coronavirus pandemic. Although they had to halt personal visits for a time, they adapted, offering video calls and that alike. All
the staff are incredibly friendly, as well as good at their job. They form real relationships with the residents and their relatives, and it's always a pleasure to visit.

I found the care provided at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home excellent from the nursing staff down to the cleaning staff. My mother was treated with the utmost care and respect during her 6-month stay and the staff treated us all like family. The home was clean and well-staffed and expertly
run by the manager who is just wonderful.

I am extremely satisfied with the care given to my wife as a resident in the care home. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating nothing was too hard for them to do when a request was made. They were very professional in their dealings with me and my wife. Nothing was too hard for them to accommodate.

My mother is in Magnolia and is being very well cared for by the lovely staff.
They have developed a very good relationship with her and are considerate, attentive, supportive and treat her with great respect.
My brother and I are kept well informed about mum's status and we are both very pleased
that we chose Rowanweald as mum's home.
All the staff are wonderful and I would particularly like to thank them for their care and support.
A few more activities would be welcomed with some of them held in Magnolia.

We have found Rowanweald a very caring and supportive environment. We are kept up to date with Mum's needs and health issues. Staff are very responsive, friendly and caring.

Mum liked the home and appreciated what was being done for her. During her final days, the home made her comfortable and helped her, and the family. Any questions the family had were always resolved quickly and to the family's satisfaction. The home is bright and cheerful and has recently been redecorated.
We are very glad Mum stayed at Rowanweald.

This care home is beautiful light and has a lovely warm and welcoming receptionist. The staff on the Magnolia suite where my mother is a resident, are the most caring and happy people I have ever met. They have great patience and have become really great friends. I always look forward to visiting my
mother every second day, she is well looked after by the lovely carers and we are always given tea and biscuits.
I have also made good friends with the residents and their families.
I can't thank everyone enough for keeping my mother safe and happy.
