My brother was at Seabrooke Manor Care home for over six years. He sadly passed away in March 2022.
During lockdown, his health started to deteriorate, but the staff played a vital role in caring for him.
I have so many good memories of his time at the home, especially his birthdays and events held
where staff joined in the entertainment. I also have lovely pictures taken by the staff of the activities he enjoyed and the fun he had.
I would like to thank the manager of Belgae House and her professional team for their committed dedication in looking after him. These professionals are an asset to the home and must be recognised for their duty of care.
It is so comforting to know the care my brother received was second to none.
He was so loved by all of them.

My mother has been a resident at Seabrooke Manor Care home for over a year. Her care, particularly under such difficult circumstances, has been exemplary. The staff, though incredibly busy, are doing a job that many of us would find impossible, also remain cheerful, creating a lovely and calming atmosphere.
I'm hugely impressed. I'm happy with the care. The home is clean, and the staff are very respectful and friendly. During the pandemic, all Covid protocols were in place, and everyone was tested before entering the building. They're doing their best with everything that's going on through the pandemic and Covid, however, that doesn't stop them from supporting and getting their jobs done. Well done.
I would like to thank the staff and management once more.

My father has been in Seabrooke Manor for the past two and a half years. My husband and I are regular visitors, going at least four times a week, every week. We have always found Dad spotlessly clean, also, bed linen is changed each day, and the room is cleaned daily. All the staff are excellent and
take the time to listen to us. Therefore, I have no complaints and am glad we chose Seabrooke Manor for Dad.

My mum is a resident on Belgae Unit and always finds her carers to be very helpful and friendly. She celebrated her 97th birthday recently and her carers made a huge effort to decorate her room as well as baking a lovely cake. I find the Belgae staff to be very professional and courteous whenever I
talk to them. Her care is of a very high standard and I am always kept up to date with any appointments she needs to attend and any changes in medication, etc. I have always been impressed with the dignity shown to Mum. Many thanks to the manager and her team. I can not thank them enough!

My mother was a resident at Seabrooke Manor for approximately 3-years, and in that time, she was cared for and loved by the staff, past and present, who were and are always cheerful and polite.
I was kept fully informed of her wellbeing, and any questions I had, were always addressed promptly and politely.
During the height of the Covid pandemic, strict routines and protocols were always observed, and when visits were once again allowed, the degree of safeguarding was never relaxed.
I was always welcomed with a smile by all the staff when I would call to visit Mum, and I send my appreciation and grateful thanks for the service and care they provided.
My best wishes and regards to everyone at Seabrooke.

My family, eg brother and sister-in-law and I are very happy with the care given to my sister. We hadn't seen her for 2-years pre-Covid. She looks really well and happy.

My mother came to Seabrooke Manor from the hospital for end of life care following a stroke as well as dementia. The staff of Roman House showed unfailing kindness, respect and sensitivity towards both her and myself. I will be forever grateful that they made her passing easier for both of us.

Moving north, we were separated by the distance from visiting my two elderly female cousins. It was worrying when both needed care as we could not inspect new surroundings. From the moment of admission, the evident concern for their welfare shown by the unit manager and her staff was very reassuring;
every effort was made to facilitate our telephone contact with them. We have been happy they were well cared for. Any health concerns were referred for prompt medical attention; they seemed to thrive and enjoyed their food.
With Covid causing further isolation from elderly friends who may have wished to visit, the staff became their surrogate family, the warmth, concern, humour and compassionate care are given to the sisters have been obvious to us. When the elder sister died, the younger has been supported by them very sensitively.
As we ourselves age, we appreciate how important and precious those attributes are in those caring for us and wish to record our grateful thanks.

I can't thank the manager and her team enough for their kindness and care looking after my dad. Especially, keeping him safe and well in the times of Covid. It has been so hard not to be able to visit, but it has helped so much to see Dad's Zoom party! The carers are brilliant. Thank you so much.

Cannot fault the staff in Norman House, caring, attentive and put the residents needs first. My only complaint is the delay in setting up a safe environment for visitors to see their loved ones.

Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Seabrooke Manor Care Home

Thank you for your review. Following our recent conversation, I understand that you are satisfied with the care provided to your Mother, but had concerns regarding the visiting facilities. As explained, the home had been planning to facilitate visits, but due to an outbreak at the home, this was delayed. Since then, I am glad that we were able to arrange for you to visit your Mother at the home on Mother’s Day.

My aunt has been so well looked after in Belgae House. The team are second to none. l am sure without the care and attention that this home gives, she would not have reached her 100th birthday! Before Covid-19, I visited three times a week, and I always saw the same excellent standard of care, thank
you, to you and your team, please carry on the same wonderful care. l cannot thank you enough for giving my aunty the care and dignity she deserves!

I cannot recommend Saxon Unit, Seabrooke Manor, more highly! The head of Saxon Unit at Seabrooke Manor and her team have been more than I could have ever have hoped for. My mum has been with the unit for over four years and initially her going into care due to her dementia was heart-breaking for me,
as I worried who would be able to take care of her the way I would want. I got that and more! The care is second to none and I have total peace of mind, which is priceless. These wonderful special people are my saviour. They work so hard and without them I would be constantly worried, I am forever in their debt. My mum can be hard work at times and they all deal with it with pure professionalism. It's a 10 out of 10 every time for me!

Thanks guys!!

Current Review Score: 7.8 (7.769)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.8 (7.769) out of 10 for Seabrooke Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.0 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.727 for Seabrooke Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (9 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 4.727

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.042 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seabrooke Manor Care Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 120 registered maximum number of service users is 24. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 24 = 0.042

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
