The Sidcup offers nursing and residential care, both long-term and short stay care.

The home is a purpose-built with modern comforts and conveniences. It prides itself on its warm and homely environment where residents can relax and feel safe inside the home and in the gardens. All bedrooms have en suite facilities and are furnished to a high standard.

The home consists of two floors, with dining rooms and lounges on each floor. The home also benefits from its own cinema lounge, large well- maintained gardens, its own hairdressing salon, and private lounge, ideal for family events and celebrations. The home has visiting professionals such as physiotherapists and chiropodists.

As an enhanced service to residents, weekly GP visits are conducted at The Sidcup Care Home, enabling residents to receive regular, personalised medical reviews as part of their approach to person-centred care.

At mealtimes a wide range of nutritious dishes are offered, always made with fresh ingredients. Residents’ dietary needs and personal preferences are always taken into account by the chef. The chef will visit residents to make tailored menus if necessary. There are regular tea rounds throughout the day with fresh cakes after lunch.

As well as regular, organised activities such as quizzes, bingo, film afternoons, board games and arts and crafts sessions, trips out to local places of interest, visiting entertainers and pantomimes, as well as tai chi and holistic massage and aromatherapy.

My aunt was in The Sidcup for 5 1/2 years. The staff always looked after her well. They always did all they could for her comfort and well being even though she was not the easiest or happiest person. When her husband of 67 years died, everyone at the home went out of their way to comfort her and involve
her in activities to help her to cope. There was always a welcoming attitude to visitors whenever they came.

When my grandfather became unable to care for himself, we, as a family, took the difficult decision to find a suitable care establishment for him. As soon as we visited The Sidcup Care Home we knew this would be his 'home from home', we were shown around by a lovely young lady who said she was the
deputy home manager, she answered all of our questions and made us feel really at ease.
I am pleased to say that he has lived there very happily for the last 15 months. From day one, the staff were welcoming, caring and totally professional. He settled immediately and blossomed with the delicious and nutritious meals, fun activities and outings and the loving and devoted care of all staff.
Whenever we visited we also received a warm welcome and on several occasions, we enjoyed lunch with him. Nothing was too much trouble. Suffering from a health condition, he was always treated with respect and dignity and we are so grateful for all the loving care he has had. Thank you all.

My mother-in-law was admitted to this care home end of November we found her room very dirty and the staff left dirty pads in the bathroom. When she went into the hospital with MRSA, we decided to look around for a new care home. She is now so much happier and well cared for I would not recommend this
home.

The nursing team who looked after my mother were very caring and looked after her so well. Despite Mum being unconscious when she arrived and passed away, they would always salute her and talk to her. The nurses reassured and looked after us, the family. We are so pleased to have chosen The Sidcup Care

I have been a resident for nearly 2 years and I have enjoyed my stay here. I have visited other homes and they are not as nice as The Sidcup. I especially like some of the staff who help me.

It's with a heavy heart that I leave this review as there are some genuinely friendly, kind and smiley carers and receptionists in this home but unfortunately the overall experience was one of extreme stress for my sister and I (when we should have been looking after our dad recovering from an operation)
having our mother stay in respite at this care home for 4 weeks. A chain of broken promises - she wasn't showered/washed for 4 days on one occasion despite us asking repetitively and being promised she would be. We found a rash on her face that apparently staff didn't notice, and then still didn't call the doctor despite staff writing it in the book. After complaining to the manager, she discovered that my mother had no care plan in place at all, apologised and immediately put a plan into action. The last and final disappointment was when she'd had a fall and we found her with diarrhoea and again "no one had noticed".

Since my mother has been admitted to The Sidcup I have been very pleased with the care she is receiving. My mother is very introvert and doesn't like mixing with other people but the staff at The Sidcup have made her feel very welcome and put her at ease totally with unfamiliar surroundings. I feel
totally at ease with my mother being in here.

My mother has been resident in The Sidcup Care Home since December 2017 due to her physical ability to look after herself. Overall we and she have been very happy with the care she is receiving. As with any such home, some days the care is better than others and it is obvious that there is a shortage
of care staff on some days. We have no reason to believe that mum suffers from any slowness to deal with her needs, but it would be nice if staffing levels were consistent to ensure a high, constant level of care.

We are so grateful to all the staff, especially those on the first floor, who cared for our mum with Tenderness and Concern for her well being. They would kiss her, sing with her and had her laughing. They did their utmost on all levels. When mum passed they stayed with me to help me through a terrible
and stressful time. I could write a book full of praise on all the staff from the Office through to carers. The food was lovely and they bent over backwards to try and get mum to eat and drink. The facility is very clean and well kept up even the maintenance man who put mum's pictures up on the wall exactly where mum wanted to have them placed.

My mother was in this home.
The management in this home are extremely poor and they would not communicate with you.


The care my mum received was sporadic. If the bell was rung for help by the residents then it would take a while if at all for anyone to tend to them. I also found that the home could

smell and did not seem clean in the rooms especially the toilets.


The staff did not seem to want to interact with the residents and it always seemed to them a chore to do anything for them.


When you needed a member of staff there was never anyone around they were either on their breaks which they all seemed to go together or meetings.


My mother was moved to another home in Chislehurst and the care she received there was so much more superior. Plenty of friendly staff who cared and good communication with management.


Needless to say, I would not recommend the Sidcup.

Sidcup Care Home treated my Dad with the utmost respect at all times. The care he received was second to none. At all times the staff made sure my Dad's dignity was respected and upheld too, as much as was possible. If there was a time things were not right as I saw it the staff always made sure it
was corrected immediately. I have nothing but praise for all the staff at Sidcup Care Home and would not hesitate to recommend.
