Wilsmere House Care Home has 86 beds which has four individual communities within the home that provides person-centred nursing, dementia care to older people and provide specialised care for adults with life-long physical conditions. Wilsmere House Care Home is conveniently located close to train and underground stations, the nursing care home is within easy reach of public transport and facilities. Wilsmere House Care Home do provide Respite Care .

The home offers a number of facilities, including a large gym, in-house physiotherapy, a hairdressing salon and a low-level kitchen ,Conservatory with patio area and a caffe providing refreshments throughout the day . Wilsmere House Care Home also has beautiful gardens with patios and tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms. The home has free wifi throughout the home .

Residents are offered flexibility around mealtimes and special dietary requirements are catered for. The home offers an extensive activities programme where residents can pursue hobbies and interests. The home has two minibuses and residents go out every week either to the local shopping centre , garden centres , Parks and attending weekly community meetings .

The staff team provides a high quality of care thanks to continuous training to ensure they are up-to-date on best practice.

While some of the nurses are switched on and caring, others are not. I don't feel Dad is consistently well looked after. I'm not allowed to post 'specific incidents of negligence', so will have to leave it at that. Mum is constantly worried about him and how he's being looked after. She doesn't need
this stress. There have also been issues with the finance department and the communication is poor.

I have no hesitation in recommending Wilsmere House Care Home to anyone looking for exceptional care for their loved one or, indeed, for themselves. My husband has complex care needs and has received care over and above expectations. The physiotherapy team have gone out of their way to improve his mobility
and where this was limited they have sourced the right equipment to enable his mobility and improve his symptoms were relieved.

From the moment my husband arrived at the place he has been treated with dignity and respect. I see the genuine love and care given by the nurses and carers to each resident and I am touched by the devotion and care given to each resident. I am here every day and I observed everything they do. You can't
expect perfection in everything but what we are getting from Barchester Wilsmere House Care Home gives me a good night's sleep each night. Communication is clear and transparent and we appreciate everything they are doing. Thank you!

When my son went into Wilsmere House, I was devastated and worried about how he would be looked after; thank god I was so wrong. The staff are friendly, professional, kind and informative, and they are an extended family now. One lady absolutely looks after him; he’s always clean and happy. I truly
can’t fault this home. I’m so relieved and can relax knowing the care he’s getting.

After trying out several homes, my brother arrived at Brookfield unit, Wilsmere House, a difficult and cantankerous character, who could have so easily riled the staff. Instead, the staff at Wilsmere, especially two members, took the time to get to know, understand him and his needs, and treated him
with respect and dignity to ensure his medical needs were addressed, so much so, he refused to go to the hospital as he felt the care offered went beyond what any hospital could offer. As a very intelligent man, he never suffered fools, but here, he was able to have intelligent conversations and felt the staff understood his condition. He was dealt with very much on a personal level, by all, including the chef.
I always felt welcome, offered coffee or tea etc, and whether in person or on the phone, my questions and enquiries were addressed, calls returned, and I was always kept informed.
Choosing a care home is never the preferred option, but Wilsmere House eases the pressure.

I’ve waited a while to write this review to give me the opportunity to experience the care home in-dept At first view the home felt ideal for my husband, everyone was very welcoming and interested in understanding my husband's required needs and interests. Within the first few days, staff spent a lot
of time with me for them to understand my husband's personality, likes and dislikes, to ensure they made him feel safe and at home. Due to my anxiety, I came across as harsh on what I expected but at no point did I feel like a burden or not being listened to. The team has not let me down to date, they have spent time to get to know him, make him feel welcomed and ensure he never feels isolated. Brilliant communication and updates between the home and families.
Kenton unit is a family environment, it’s full of comfort and laughter between staff and residents. Staff work extremely hard. The management's door is always open for a quick chat or to settle any worries.

My father has been in Wilsmere for the last 3 years and we have found the standard of genuine care exhibited is excellent. The carers go out of their way to create a positive environment for the patients, my father although handicapped has warmed to their friendly attitude and approach, especially considering
we are in the most difficult times.

The care that mum has received is excellent. I am always informed of any problems and the team are swift to react. All staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble of them. Mum tells me that the food is lovely and there is always something different to try. Mum especially enjoys the entertainment
that is provided and looks forward to the different events. To quote my mum: 'this place is magical.'

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I have been visiting a friend for 3 years now and every member of staff has been amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. All the staff have been very approachable, in short, the whole team have been excellent.

Some of the establishments I worked at are 5-star Hotels, Fine Dining Restaurants and Luxury Senior Living Homes. I’m a very inspirational, detail-oriented, Disciplined and Creative Chef. I always try to create a positive environment in and around my Kitchen. I pride myself on preparing high-quality food and what makes me very happy is to see our residents enjoy the dishes that my team and I create.


Our hospitality team are committed to providing seasonal home-cooked menus offering choice, nutrition and quality- including exciting menus to specific individual dietary needs and all appetites. We celebrate every one of our resident’s Birthday and my Kitchen team prepare homemade decorated cakes for their Birthday. The beautiful warm smile that our residents give when we present the Birthday cake is our greatest inspiration.
