Whitgift House, part of Whitgift Care, is a modern care home which provides a range of services, including: full nursing care, day care and sheltered flats which promote independent living. All residents are treated with privacy and dignity, with their comfort and happiness a primary concern of staff at all times.

Care officers and an activities co-ordinator are responsible for the delivery of a busy activities calendar including entertainment, activity clubs and trips.

Whitgift House has a relaxed atmosphere and residents are welcome to bring personal belongings to help them feel at home.

Whitgift House gives gold star care and nursing.
We have nothing but gratitude and praise for all who work there. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff outstanding. Everything is done for the good of the resident and staff are more than supportive to family.

My observation was that last year during building work of the new communal rooms, residents were not given much consideration for the fact they were looking out onto a building site for months on end - people skills were lacking! Lunch menu good for the cost to residents but would be better if a little
more costly. Washing machines old and warn - impossible for an elderly lady to work, also impossible to read dials.

Mum has been at Whitgift House for nearly two years. She has a lovely room overlooking the gardens decorated with her own furniture. We looked at lots of homes and it stood out as the best. There are lots of activities, award-winning food and I particularly like that it's linked to Whitgift school so
the school children come down very frequently to talk to the residents and play concerts for them. This gives the place a great community feel when some care homes can become isolated 'waiting rooms' for the inevitable. Whitgift House embraces life and keeps residents engaged. The staff are wonderful they feel like family now and I can't thank them enough. Even when things aren't perfect they stand out as caring and efficient. Early on mum made some complaints which worried me. Senior staff took this seriously and made a full investigation. I was made to feel comfortable about doing this and the result was better communication with mum at night when she's sleepy and not wearing her hearing aid.

I have had good, kind, care from all the staff as throughout the four years. I have lived in this lovely flat in sheltered accommodation here in South Croydon.

Each person that joins us brings their own uniqueness to our home and it shows in what we do and the sense of belonging we all share. I love this quote from one of our residents which I believe captures us perfectly – ‘You aren’t just carers you are caring friends – like family’
