My aunt lived at The White House for four years and was given end-of-life care there, where she died on the 9th of November 2022. I visited her throughout this time four times a week (by phone during Covid). Throughout this time, the performance of The White House staff and the facilities and services
provided has been, in all respects, truly excellent. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.

From the very first time we stepped into the home, we knew it was the right place for our aunt. The home is professionally run with very caring and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they made it like a home from home.

Mum moved to the White House 1.5 years ago after negative experiences at two previous homes, which left me rather wary and anxious. I'm relieved and pleased to say, 1.5 years in, that the White House is very different. It's an independently-run home with owners and a management team who take pride in
what they do. It is very well managed. Everyone you come across is friendly, diligent, responsive and hard-working and the team is steady, so you can get to know them and vice versa. They've noticed when things have been amiss with Mum, taken prompt action and let me know. They're constantly striving to innovate and improve too, be it skills, facilities or use of technology, e.g. since Mum arrived, they've converted the top floor into a sensory space for dementia residents, set up online photo albums for residents' families and many other projects. They dealt outstandingly well with Covid restrictions as well. I'm very grateful to the whole team for all their efforts.

Dad had always wanted to stay in his own home but moved into the White House when his health deteriorated to the extent that we could no longer give him the care he needed. The positive atmosphere and friendly reception we received was immediately reassuring and the kindness, skill and dedication of
the staff made a difficult transition much easier than we had feared. Although Dad was confined to bed, he never felt isolated, but quickly developed a good relationship with the staff, who were always near at hand. The standard of nursing care he was given was outstanding, and staff never stinted in their efforts to keep him comfortable. I should stress that we were impressed by the dedication of all the staff in the wide range of roles that contribute to the running of a nursing home. They took very good care of us too. Living far away we found the Relatives Gateway very helpful, and were thankful that we were able to visit Dad at any time during his last few weeks.

On behalf of our family, I wish to thank the staff and management of the White House for all the wonderful care and support that all the staff provided for my sister in her final days.
It was a difficult time for all of us, but the degree of night and day dedication and attention to all her needs by
all the staff was amazing. We cannot admire more highly, the caring medical skills that that were employed to provide her with the comfort she needed. Also the degree of assistance and communication with us over her difficult times. It was sad that my sister was not sufficiently able to participate more in the wonderful range of activities and crafts that the home provides, particularly as she spent much of her life with people and enjoying art. I would recommend the home to all families anxious for the best care for their loved ones, from the experiences of my sister in her recent period of stay at The White House.

I never wanted my mum to go into a home. I always wanted to look after her at home, but my father wasn't happy, so sadly she went into the White House nursing home. We were all delighted with how wonderful the staff were and how they were so kind to Mum and all of us, as a family. From the management
to the cleaners, they are all wonderful.

I was hesitant when I entered the house because it was on the main road and it had a tiny garden area. Lots of nursing homes are set in lovely grounds. However, at this point in my dad's life, what he needed was exactly the care he received at this home and a garden would have made no difference to
him. The staff here really care. The owner and manager are flexible and pragmatic. When they saw my dad was not really benefitting from interacting with other residents in big sessions, they arranged for OT to be delivered one to one. I am most appreciative of the amount they let me visit him. The food is also really good and they ensure everyone knows what the physical state of the resident is by recording it on an app. I think this home, being small and being not run by a large group feels much more like family care than anywhere else I visited. I can't thank them enough for looking after my dad so well in the last phase of his life and allowing me to be there so much with him.

My mother lived at The White House Nursing Home for nearly three years and was very happy there. The staff were always kind and considerate of her wishes. She passed away there in January and even though we were in the midst of Covid, the compassion and quality of the end of life care made her passing
easier and I am thankful that she spent her last years being looked after at the White House.

Moving my mum to The White House Nursing Home was the best thing we did. Although being visually impaired and at the end of her life, she was included in the activities, enjoying trips out, sensory and social activities. This was a great relief to us and we were always made to feel welcome, when visiting.
The White House is like a big family home, staff were always friendly and gave us great support, during difficult a time.

I have nothing but praise and thanks for all the wonderful staff at The White House. My mother has been there since Nov 2019 and, at first, I was anxious about Mum going into a care home but, right from the start, she was treated with such kindness and respect that I was instantly reassured. There is
such an atmosphere of warmth and caring. It is wonderful to see Mum laughing and joking with her carers and also to see how patiently and kindly she is treated, especially when she is having one of her difficult days. There is such great rapport between staff, residents and families. Throughout the difficulties of the coronavirus pandemic, it's been especially reassuring to know that Mum was in such good hands. Everyone at The White House went to extraordinary lengths to keep the residents safe and happy and maintain as much contact between Mum and her family as possible. And always with a smile. The White House sets the standard for what every care home should be like.

My father entered The White House nearly a year ago; I have total confidence in the care that the staff and management provide for him. The staff took time to let my father settle in and it was clear that they knew how to make new residents welcome in a gentle and caring manner. The home offers regular
entertainment and activities to the residents and it has been great to see Dad take part these in a way that I never imagined he would. I am kept up to date with the events through social media and emails, while the relative’s gateway online portal allows me to see the daily care provided to my father. Staff are quick to telephone me, should anything out of the ordinary occur. My father’s room is spotless, if functional, and he himself is clean, well-groomed and clearly very well cared for. The staff have always been incredibly friendly, yet professional and attentive at the same time. I would not hesitate to recommend The White House to anyone looking for a nursing home.

My mum joined The White House team last summer and it was a worrying time, especially with Covid. Yet, I remain hugely impressed with how well she is looked after. After encouragement, Mum is getting more involved with activities and making friends and not pushed when she wants to be left alone. I have
found the staff very supportive with all my questions and concerns and the communication is excellent. I've visited Mum many times now and am always impressed (jealous even!) with the gorgeous food smells and staff friendliness - nothing is too much trouble. Due to my experience, I have no hesitation in recommending this nursing home. It is such an enormous relief to know that Mum is clean, safe, fed, warm and entertained. Thank you to everybody for looking after my extra special Mum.

My wife began to suffer from Parkinson’s Disease in 2005. In time, her condition became too severe for me to care for her at home. The White House Nursing Home was recommended to me. In 2013 she moved in and was cared for there until her death in 2016. The fact that she lived for another three and a
half years with a very severe form of Parkinson’s Disease is a testament to the high quality of the care she received. The staff and management provided a homely, caring environment with a professional skill and that was a great comfort to my wife, myself and all the family. I have continued to volunteer and play music sessions at The White House Nursing Home and continue to appreciate the good work which I see, when I am there.

When my Dad had a life-changing stroke five years ago, it became clear he would need twenty-four-hour nursing care. As everyone reading this will know, searching for a nursing home is daunting and stressful because of the absolute trust it requires to leave a loved one even in the most professional
of hands. Over the years, the team at The White House Nursing Home have shown over and over again that they understand their residents individually, take joy in their company and quietly support their families and friends in coping with the challenges of making a new life at the home. My mum now lives there too, staff have shown huge sensitivity and care in enabling them to have their individual needs met while also enjoying time together. During Covid-19 staff made sure that the atmosphere remained cheerful and positive, even while managing their own challenging workloads. Management care deeply for staff in all roles and foster a lovely team atmosphere.

Both of my parents have been living at the White House for a long time - over 5 years in my father's case and over 3 in my mother's. Both have complex medical as well as general caring needs. I cannot recommend the White House highly enough. It's because of our family's complete trust in the place that
my mother followed my father there when she too needed to be looked after in a home. The White House manager and staff are outstanding. Some staff have been there ever since my parents arrived: that continuity of care, not found in every home, makes a big difference. They treat the residents as individuals, with respect, dignity, warmth, and communicate closely with families. They put much effort in getting to know residents, their quirks, character, and needs, and they adjust the resident's routines and experiences to suit their personality. They are reliable, thorough, and proactive with residents' medical needs, not hesitating to refer to a GP or hospital whenever there is a concern.

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Rahim

Rahim Nurmohamed

Job Title: Co-Director

Joined: 2013

Rahim has been looking after Home's clinical and business administration since 2001, eventually becoming one of the Home's Directors in 2013. He has been instrumental in taking the Home forward through many changes in regulations, always ensuring the quality and health & safety aspects of the Home continue to improve and exceed standard levels. He describes his most important role as the "chief taster" of all the delicious cakes and dishes being produced in the kitchen!

Ajitha Pillai

Ajitha Pillai has been the Registered Manager of the Home since 2012. Previous to this, she was one of our Registered Nurse's and her hard work and passion for high quality care saw her quickly progressing to the award-wining Registered Manager she is today.

Salima is the daughter of Mr Manji, the late founder of TWHNH and one of the Home's Directors. She joined the family business in 2013 (a move she wishes she had made a lot sooner!) and is responsible for the finance, HR and marketing operations of the Home

Vincent Doherty manages all the repair and maintenance aspects of the Home. At over 25 years of service (he’s lost count), Vince is the longest-serving member of our staff team.

Shirley O'Dwyer has been looking after the Home service administration aspects since 2015. Shirley is dedicated to researching and implementing different products and systems in order to constantly improve the standards of services, accommodation and supplies in the Home.

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Joined: 2023

Indre has been working at TWH since March 2023, bringing her experience from working at another Care Home in Lithuania. She is qualified as a Social Worker, which helps her to understand the needs of the residents. Indre gets her motivation and finds so much happiness in seeing the residents being engaged and responding. She enjoys finding individual catered activities as it is important to meet everyone’s needs and she is determined to always find an activity for everyone.


Emily

Emily Paton

Job Title: Home Liaison Administrator

Joined: 2023

Emily graduated with her History degree from the University of Warwick in July 2023, with a background in film and marketing. She joined TWH shortly after graduating and is passionate about making a difference through compassionate care and drawing on her love for writing. Emily is an extremely competent administrator and looks after all the Business and Marketing administration of the Home.
