Mum, aged 90, was sent here for convalescence by the NHS after sustaining a fractured left wrist and sacrum. I was disappointed it was so far from her home and myself - but looking up their website was pleasantly surprised to see their scope of expertise and knew (being a retired and former nurse myself),
that they were more than capable of dealing with Mother's needs!
Sadly due to the Coronavirus pandemic I never saw her room or the inside of the home due to 15 minutes appointments held "weather permitting" in the garden!
But you can tell a lot from a garden when you see a lovely little menagerie of doves, tortoises, Koi pond, and I think they were called Duga from Chile (cross between hamster and rats - (they had tails!). Lovely well kept gardens and a welcome cup of tea in best china teapot, cups and saucers and service with a smile from their Activities Organiser!
Also, of note had to be the peace/contentment I noticed among both patients and the staff, whatever they were doing.

My cousin has been at Chase house for some time. The home staff from the Director and all her staff are always of the top quality. You worry when relatives go into a home but not, in this case, it is brilliant. There is always staff about and the way they treat the residents is very kind and caring.

We needed emergency respite for my mum who has Multiple Sclerosis, when my dad (who is her main carer) was admitted as an emergency to hospital. It was my mum's first time in respite and the staff at Chase House, without exception, were wonderful with her - patient, kind, understanding and priding themselves
on very personalised care. They all did everything possible to ease her (and my) anxiety and to ensure she had the most positive experience possible. The support offered by Matron and her team in arranging a quick admission, sorting out transport and generally offering advice and emotional support was amazing. I couldn't recommend the team here highly enough.
