This is a really good care home with lovely staff. My mum has been here for several years now and has always been very well looked after. The carers are all very helpful and pleasant and it is clear that they care so very much and will often tell me things that my mum has been doing. The food is superb
and consistently of a high standard and can be tailored to the needs of the resident, which is nice. The whole place is always very clean and no matter when I visit from week to week over the last six years, my mum is always in a good state and the whole place is consistently well run. Each resident has their own room with TV etc. and there is also a large lounge room with music or entertainment and a dining room area with TV. My suggestion, if you're thinking of coming here or helping a relative, would be to pop in and see for yourself and notice the pleasant feel and cleanliness of the place. I cannot imagine any other care home being more suitable for my mum.

Park House Care Home has been a wonderful home for my mum over the past 5 years. Ever since she moved in here, she has been settled, happy, secure and well cared for. This means we can relax when we can't be with her as we know she is always in good hands. In my experience, staff genuinely care in a
loving way for all the residents, as if they are honestly caring for their own relative. This is the most important point for me. There is a relaxed family feel for everyone and a feeling of peace and safety for the residents. Mum loves all the staff and greets them all with big smiles. The food at Park House is excellent with its own kitchen. Cleanliness and attention to detail is excellent. We were told by many before Mum came in how good the care is at Park House - and now we say the same to others and spread the word! Thank you so much everyone at Park House for looking after our lovely Mum and for all you do, and for all the heartfelt caring. It really is appreciated.

The management team, nursing team, carers and all the wonderful staff at Park House looked after my father from September 2016 until he passed away peacefully in November 2022. My mother, who was a regular visitor to the care home, was delighted with how her husband was cared for and chose to move to
Park House when she was unable to look after herself, the two of them were able to spend some quality time together and with their family. The staff have been caring and responsive to my parent's needs and have looked after their overall well-being throughout their stay. My father, who went through a gradual decline in health due to dementia, was content abd settled right to the end and the compassion and caring that was there for him was just wonderful to see. My mother continues to be looked after in Park House and she too is very settled and content. She wants for nothing, enjoys greeting guests when they visit, loves the food and treasures her many chats with members of staff as they pass her room. They are a wonderful team at Park House, and I cannot thank them enough for all they have done and are doing for my parents.

As a regular visitor coming at irregular times, my friend and I (sometimes on our own) have been extremely impressed at all times in every view at Park House. The staff, whatever their positions are always friendly and accommodating and it is obvious that the person in their care is of paramount importance.
Our friend is very appreciative of everything and is very happy here.

The Park House team are doing an excellent job looking after my mother-in-law who recently went in due to her dementia, we are very lucky to have such a care home close by in Sandy. My wife and I would like to thank you all for the 1st class professional care that you provide. You all work so hard to
make the residents and their families feel valued. You support us as if we are all part of the Park House family, we cannot thank and praise you enough for the service you are providing.
It is a relaxed care home, safe and very clean, the food is excellent and care staff brilliant, the nursing staff are excellent and promptly call in the doctor when needed, to ensure any infections etc are quickly picked up and addressed. It is a credit to the owner, the care home manager and to all the Park House team for achieving this standard. Keep up the good work.

A great care home. Can't fault it. My mum is very well cared for and I am completely happy with her being there. I know she is safe at all times and well fed too!

Sadly some staff have left. This home has gone downhill. No interaction hardly, only for a few hours a week (looks good on social media), but don’t be fooled. No TV in the lounge area, freedom has gone for the residents. No dining area, eat in their seats. Very quick to introduce medication to suppress
personality.

We feel sad that this review has been given after two and a half years of very much enjoying the care we have provided your mother. As you know we have a smaller lounge for TV watching on our portable television. This allows activities (with our two dedicated activity leaders) and conversation beyond the background noise of all-day TV. As you are also aware, lunch can be taken communally at the dining table for those that wish to do that. In respect of your comment about medication, we are not able to give any medication unless prescribed by a doctor who has independently assessed the need of the resident. We always put our client’s needs first and finding the right care setting for them, however distressing a move may be for the family, is sometimes the right thing to do. We wish your mum all the best in her new home.

My husband spent the last few weeks of life in Park House. The staff made his stay as comfortable as it could have been. We couldn't have wished for anywhere better.

In general, care was very good, after making home aware call button was not working causing severe frustration for Dad and resulting in him soiling himself on a few occasions, this was rectified.
Also, I had to make them aware not to leave Dad with rails up on his bed, effectively locking him in bed,
so that he could get up to go to the toilet. Apart from that, it was good.

During her 6 and a half years in Park House Care Home, my mother-in-law was well cared for the staff were very kind and did an excellent job caring for her needs. She suffered from very bad dementia and did not know anyone. During the last week of her life, the staff looked after the family very well
and were very kind.

All your staff are very kind, caring and helpful. I couldn't wish for more. My aunt has been in Park House for over three years and she loves it. She calls it her home. All of the staff care for her like she is part of the family. They are 100% thank you all very much.

My friend was admitted prior to Covid lockdown and stayed until her passing in February 2023. During this time she received fabulous care and dedication from all staff. Even during Covid, the staff maintained 100% commitment and although I couldn't visit during this time they did everything they could
for me to remain in contact. Always friendly, obliging and happy.

Mother absolutely loved her week respite in Park House. The carers are so kind to her. Mother thinks it's like a holiday hotel. She is 103 with dementia.

Both my parents have lived at Park House for the last five years or so and, following Dad's death in November last year, my mum continues to live there. The care both my parents have received and continue to receive has been exemplary throughout. The manager and staff there do all they can to help
in all ways they can and especially to Mum since Dad passed away. Both my parents felt and feel safe and cared for at all times and I can't praise Park House enough for their care and thoughtfulness throughout.

Dad was in Park House for just 10 weeks, but in that time he built a firm bond with the carers. They were always on hand to give him hugs when he needed them. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone from the owner and manager to the cleaning and catering staff did their utmost to ensure dad had what
he needed. Everyone is very friendly and always had time to chat to us when we visited; the nursing staff were always on hand to speak to if we had a query.
Meals were adapted to suit Dad's appetite.
The home is kept very clean and although Dad wasn't able move from his bed, I noticed that the residents in the lounge always appeared to be happy and engaged.
There is a lovely little garden area with chickens for the residents and families to sit in if they desire.
At the end I couldn't have felt more supported; the nursing staff and carers gave me the time I needed with dad but they were on hand as soon as I needed them, treating me with care and compassion.

We were very pleased with the outstanding care our relative received at Park House Care Centre. He was transferred there from hospital for a end of life NHS care package. Although very ill he was always given personalised care. All the needs were met and all the clinicians gave him the best possible
care. When we visited the centre it was always clean and our relative was always very clean and fresh. We were regularly updated on his condition and informed of any changes. We could not have wished for a better care centre of we have made the choice ourselves. We cannot thank you enough for everything you did for him.

For ten days my mother was there I cannot fault the care she was given. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The kitchen staff were always happy to do an alternative. Her room was bright and clean with plenty of space. The grandchildren were made welcome and shown the chickens and grounds.

Donna is an experienced RGN. She has been the manager of Park House for 13 years and this consistency allows the home to thrive under her leadership.


An expert in managing your move into care, she is available anytime on the phone for guided tours of the home - just contact us.

Karen Darlington

Job Title: Lead Nurse

Joined: 2018

Karen is a registered nurse with many years of experience in various nursing roles. She has worked at Park House for over 5 years. She brings a wealth of experience to the home and as a lead nurse works closely with Donna the manager.


Andrea

Andrea Thorpe

Job Title: Lead Nurse

Joined: 2018

Andrea has worked as a registered nurse all her life since she first qualified in Scotland. She has held many senior positions in a variety of healthcare settings. She performs an important role as a support for our nursing and care staff and works closely with the manager.

John has owned and run care homes for 25 years. He has a wealth of experience in business and has invested in Park House as a priority taking it from a tired, out-of-date care home into an attractive asset which retains a homely feel whilst offering a high standard of accommodation and care.
