Parkside care home offers comfortable nursing and residential care for anyone over 18. Short stay options are also available if you’re in need of recovery or some respite. The home is also able to offer palliative and Parkinson’s care.

The purpose-built home is spacious, bright and airy, with pleasant and well-tended gardens. Being on a leafy street, surrounded by private homes, means the home enjoys a real neighbourhood feel, too.

At Parkside they put a real focus on making the care person-centred, upholding the resident’s dignity, respect and independence. The activity coordinators help make sure there’s plenty of fun things for everyone to do.

All bedrooms have ensuite facilities with a 24-hour call system, many with views of the surrounding gardens.

Parkside prides itself on the balanced and nutritious dishes that are served to residents at mealtimes. The meals, which are freshly prepared every day, are suited to each resident’s individual food preferences and choices.

Helping residents to recover or retain their independence is especially important here. As part of this, residents are encouraged to make friends and to choose interesting things to do – perhaps even learning something a new skill. Weekly clubs also allow residents to get to know each other and remain active and engaged in hobbies that they are passionate about. Residents also have access to an onsite hairdresser and visiting mobile library.

My brother was admitted to Parkside Care Home from the hospital after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2022. The staff were excellent and caring and the home was beautifully decorated and clean. My brother was bed bound and had to be hoisted out of bed into a chair, as his health deteriorated,
and required round-the-clock nursing care. I felt completely confident that his needs were being met and the staff went over and beyond to make him as comfortable as was humanly possible. The manager was professional, approachable and ready to deal with any query. I would recommend this care home as a very pleasant place which makes residents feel completely at home. There were plenty of activities to keep residents occupied if they were able to participate. Visits were always facilitated, even once late in the evening as my brother's condition deteriorated. I genuinely feel that this care home is excellent.

Our dad of 94 collapsed at the end of November with double pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital. Following a remarkable recovery, we soon realised Dad's independent living with Mum had come to an end.
After extensive research, Parkside respite care seemed to offer the best chance for Dad's recovery.
Within a few weeks of Dad's admission, Mum's health deteriorated resulting in her admission to Parkside so they could be together over the festive period.
We were so impressed with the speed of admission and the care given to both of them. All the staff have been amazing from top to bottom. This outstanding care has given them both the best possible start in order to continue their life together.

My dear sister arrived at Parkside on Monday 5th September and from the moment she arrived was made to feel very welcome.
All the nurses and care staff could not do enough for her and she soon settled into her new home, and she felt safe there and knew that she was getting the best care possible, and
it wasn't long before all the staff knew her by her name.
Whenever we went to visit her, we were always made to feel welcome and the staff were always concerned that we were ok as well as my sister, we were always kept up to date as to how my sister was progressing.
Every part of the building that we visited was always spotlessly clean as was my sister's room, her laundry was collected every day, returned and put away for her.
Once again I would like to thank every single member of staff who looked after my sister.
She sadly passed away on 31st December, knowing that she had been given the very best care possible.
Thank you Parkside for the care that you all gave to my sister.

My mum was placed here following a spell in hospital. During her time here her health appeared to visibly improve, which I think is down to experiencing improved eating and mental stimulation. The staff are, almost without exception, very helpful and friendly, and the support staff (eg reception) are
very efficient and welcoming.

What an amazing team, my brother who has a learning disability stayed here after taking a fall and being in hospital. The BUPA team helped him get back on his feet and we couldn't have done this without their support. He was looked after so well whether it was food, personal care or a simple hello -
they have been exceptional! A particular mention of the manager who is outstanding she is knowledgeable, supportive and great support to us as a family. We couldn't have done it without them! Thank you to each and every one of the team.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the care my relative is receiving at Parkside. The manager and staff go above and beyond to ensure my relatives' needs are met. Not only are their basic needs met but they are also supported to participate in a good range of meaningful activities and encouraged to socialise
with other residents and staff which has led to my relative completely coming out of their shell and really enjoying their time at Parkside. The manager has kept me up to date with any concerns around my relative and was extremely supportive in assisting my relative adapting to a new home. The whole process was smooth and easy and I am fully confident that my relative is in good hands. Thank you to the manager and all of your lovely staff.

My grandad had a short stay here, thankfully. The staff were abrupt and rude.
PPE was required some days but not on others, absolutely no consistency. They asked for proof of a negative LFT but didn’t actually take time to look at the result.
My grandad wasn’t mobile, they took a long time to react
when he pressed his bell.
They would give him breakfast but if it was something he didn’t like they wouldn’t offer an alternative, he just went without.
Visiting after work, in the early evening was a nightmare, sometimes you were left standing outside for up to half an hour.
The level of care for my grandad was poor and the attitude of the majority of the staff was extremely harsh. This is meant to be a place that cares for people. I would never recommend this place to anyone!

Most of the staff at Parkside are very caring and considerate. My mother came into the home from a very difficult stay in hospital and since arriving at Parkside has improved in terms of overall health and well-being. I have been called with any concerns or changes to my mother's condition. The home
manager has been very attentive and helpful in answering questions and concerns. The facilities are of a high standard and clean.

I was admitted to the this home last year during lockdown. It was a big decision to leave my home and it felt daunting. My solicitor arranged it all for me and I am so grateful that I trusted them to do so.
The staff are very hard working, friendly and helpful. I settled well and feel safe and well

Most of the staff were considerate and friendly, we found the weekend staff to be not as competent and less staff seemed to be available at weekends. The gardens are lovely, my Dad enjoyed walking and sitting in the peaceful spaces. The visiting restrictions made it awkward for our family to visit my
Dad as we would have liked. My Dad really enjoyed the food at Parkside. The manager really went out of her way to make sure my Dad was ok and she organised a fantastic trip for him which he loved. The staff that was on when my Dad passed away were sympathetic and kind. They looked after my sister.

We first used Parkside for respite care for my Mum. During our initial visit, we were greeted by kind and caring staff who explained exactly how my Mum would be cared for. When we left after that first visit, we knew that Mum would be cared for just as well as she was at home, and loved almost as much
too, and when the time came for Mum to be a permanent resident at Parkside, my brother and I were at peace with what had to be. Mum is now settled and happy at Parkside. She is beginning to take part in a variety of activities (Bingo, flower arranging, sit and chat over chocs and tea, etc). Parkside is a modern and clean environment and the staff are supportive of both my Mum and my family. We are kept abreast of any developments in Mum's health and welfare and telephoned on a regular basis to check whether we have any concerns about her care. When we leave after each visit, I know that Mum is safe, happy, and well cared for.

I became a respite care resident for 3 weeks, so, therefore, I've been "on the inside" and can see both sides. It was a real eye-opener. Just how really hard the devoted care staff work, and how they have to juggle the job of feeding those who cannot feed themselves and take meals to those who can.
Not once was there a raised voice. All carers spoke lovingly to those in their care, with a smile on their face and a smile in their voice. And the food was excellent. Beautifully cooked and well presented on the plate to the residents who could eat by themselves. No shortage of food or drinks. Even wine at dinner time if you wanted it. All staff, despite the pressure on their working time, seemed to enjoy their work and would often go out of their way to ensure that anyone in their care if they felt under the weather or seemed down, they made an extra effort. I was so well looked after with care and food, it almost felt like a hotel. A great big thank you to you all.

As a family, we are extremely impressed with the way the home is run and the level and frequency of communication received regarding my Father. In October my Father managed to fall and break his hip, the speed and efficiency with which the staff dealt with the situation and got him to hospital was very
impressive.
