Oxford House is a beautiful Edwardian family home on the border of Stoke Poges and Slough. Established by the present owners in 1982, it provides a warm, homely and safe environment for its residents. The home has a residents' lounge, gardens and dining/relaxing area.

The home welcomes visitors and would be happy to provide tours and/or 'trial periods' for potential residents and their families. They pride themselves on delivering the highest quality of care, whilst encompassing core principles of choice, dignity and respect.

Mum has been very comfortable at Oxford House. She is well supported by staff who are very friendly. The room is nice and is kept clean. It is well furnished and is maintained well. Anything that Mum needs is sorted quickly and the staff are always on hand to help Mum e.g. changing her, keeping her
comfortable, giving medication. The staff look after family and friends who visit as well, they always ask if they want any food/drinks whilst visiting.

Dad has been living at Oxford House Nursing Home for 2 and a half years now. During his time here, he seems really settled. The atmosphere within Oxford House is always welcoming. The staff are exceptional and generally caring. Nothing is ever too much trouble and it's nice to see that Dad is comfortable,
happy and at home.

It was a daunting time for our family, finding a caring setting where we knew Mum's needs would be met. Oxford House immediately put those worries to rest; the staff are professional, caring, and kind. Mum is reaching the end of her life and being in this safe, thoughtful place is a gift that gives
us a sense of security and dignity to our Mum.

My partner has only been in Oxford House for one month so it is still early days, all staff have been very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The carers and nurses do a good job and all the activities staff are very enthusiastic. The kitchen, cleaning, maintenance and laundry staff are also proficient
and amenable. Food and drink preferences are noted and provided for individuals. The meals are very basic and not wildly exciting. The management makes themselves available for personal discussions despite their busy workloads. So far, so good.

I frequently visit both my parents at Oxford House and am made very welcome by all the staff, they are always extremely sensitive and attentive to all the residents and both management and staff always appear calm and cheerful. I am often present at meal times and have observed that the food and drink
presented is varied and of a high standard. The rooms are clean and uncluttered, and the residents always appear kempt and appropriately dressed. In the mornings there are different activities put on to provide stimulation which the residents participate in and enjoy. I have observed quizzes presented by the staff (and also via a video-sharing website), along with various musical performances.
Overall I am extremely impressed with Oxford House Nursing Home and am very satisfied that my parents are happy and being well looked after.

From the day my cousin was relocated to Oxford House Nursing Home, she was treated with absolute care and dignity. She always looks settled and happy.

My mum passed away just recently at Oxford House, having been there for nearly nine years. When the register issued Mum's death certificate, he simply said it is the best care home in the locality - by a mile - he is 100% correct. I saw my mum (my dad was there until he passed away in January 2018)
virtually every day. It is always the perfect model of a care home from the owners through to the manager and to all the staff. There's nothing I would have done differently there.

Dad was taken to Oxford House following a stay in the hospital. The staff have all been very kind and attentive, giving him one-to-one care that he needed a lot of the time. He has enjoyed all the activities, especially the air and seated exercises. He has a good appetite and enjoyed the meals provided.

My mother was admitted from the hospital as she could not be sent home due to her condition and issues. On the day that she was admitted, she was settled into her room with care and friendliness. I was kept up to date as to the progress of her admittance at all times. As she had not had lunch, the chef
came to her room to see what she would like, which I felt was great service and care. All of the staff are friendly and caring, and the management team are excellent. Thank you.

Amanda started her career in care in June 2007, working as a carer for Oxford House Community Care. She completed her Adult Nursing Diploma training in September 2009 and joined Oxford House Nursing Home in February 2010 as a registered nurse. Amanda was promoted to deputy manager in 2018 and has been the Registered Manager since November 2020.


Amanda decided to become a nurse as she loves helping people & receives job satisfaction from her role in helping others.

I started Oxford House in 2010 as a Care Assistant, this was my first care role and the reason I went into a career in nursing. I moved out of the area and worked in other care settings but nowhere else had the teamwork, family feel or values quite like we have at Oxford House. After receiving my BSc with Hons in Nursing, I returned as a qualified nurse in 2020 and was supported to undertake a postgraduate course. I returned and was promoted to Lead Nurse in 2023 and Deputy Manager/Clinical Lead in September 2024. I have grown both personally and professionally at Oxford House and am very proud to be part of the team.

I have been a chef at Oxford House Nursing Home since 2020. I have found the job very challenging at times but very rewarding too. My passion for food, alongside working with people and for people, assisting their different needs made me change my career path and I became a chef about 6 years ago. I love my job as I relish seeing our residents enjoying the food. It's very emotional hearing words such as " the best meal ever", and "that dish was gorgeous". I love the home too. The teamwork is outstanding and it is the best place I have ever worked. There is a family atmosphere that helps you feel appreciated. My goals are always high - to provide an outstanding service to our residents and I always look for opportunities to improve my skills and knowledge.


I love politics and in my free time, I love gardening, reading books and socialising.
