Oxford House is a beautiful Edwardian family home on the border of Stoke Poges and Slough. Established by the present owners in 1982, it provides a warm, homely and safe environment for its residents. The home has a residents' lounge, gardens and dining/relaxing area.

The home welcomes visitors and would be happy to provide tours and/or 'trial periods' for potential residents and their families. They pride themselves on delivering the highest quality of care, whilst encompassing core principles of choice, dignity and respect.

Only a glowing review will suffice. Care, attention, hygiene, atmosphere and facilities are all 2nd to none.
All staff at all levels are known by 1st name and they know mine.
Massive special thanks to one member of staff, in particular, for the additional special love I feel towards my pops.

My mother has been living at Oxford House now for over ten years. It is a lovely feeling knowing that I don't ever have to worry about her because of the excellent care that my Mum receives from all the staff, and the food is totally fantastic.

I live some distance away from Oxford House and only have contact by telephone, video link and photos. Staff are always friendly, informative and reassuring on the phone. In photos my sister looks happy, clean and well dressed, as do other residents.
I can see on photos that a variety of activities
are available for those who wish to participate.
Party and celebration food always looks brilliant with good variety and choices. I'm sure the everyday catering is of an equally high standard.,
I feel happy that my sister is receiving exceptionally good, professional, care.
The staff seem to go over and above, in ensuring that Oxford House is a well run, happy home.

I would highly recommend Oxford House. Staff are lovely and always happy/approachable. Our father is happy living there, which means myself and sister can relax, knowing he is being well cared for and his needs fully met.

Oxford House is run by an excellent manager and her team. The consistency of love and care my husband receives has taken away most of my worries. Nothing is too much trouble; even the "all-rounder" gardener makes tea during visits. My observation is all who work there are dedicated to the job and have
worked there for many years. I'll book a room when my time comes. The one with doors opening to a beautiful tranquil garden.

My mum has been a resident at Oxford House Nursing Home since 2013 and I have always felt that she receives the best care possible. The staff are so friendly and helpful and they make Oxford House Nursing Home really feel homely for the residents. The staff always celebrate special events with the residents
and arrange to take them out whenever possible. The food is of a high standard and they cater for all needs. The Manager and Deputy Managers are brilliant at what they do and are so approachable and friendly. My mum is and always has been very happy living at Oxford House Nursing Home. In my opinion, no nursing home even comes close to Oxford House, my family and I can rest assured that my mum is being well looked after.

The staff always keep me abreast of mum’s condition and medications, if she falls sick, has antibiotics or a flu shot. They are very kind and mindful of her needs even though she is not the easiest person to look after. They provide her with care and friendship when my brother and I are not there as
we are still working full time. The staff always let me know what mum needs so I can bring it in on my next visit. Even though she can be difficult at times due to her dementia, she seems to respond well to the staff on the whole and sees them as friends rather than enemies. She is always commenting on the nice ‘girls’ that work there. The only downside I have is communication has broken down a little in the past on the odd occasion. Keep up the good work! I love seeing the posts on social media and how you dress up the home/provide special meals/entertainment for all occasions. If I ever need this kind of service, I would hope I am somewhere as great as Oxford House Nursing Home.

My father had a troublesome transition into full-time care in June 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 lockdowns. Initially placed into another care home for his own protection; he struggled to come to terms with the sudden loss of his independence at the advanced age of 89. I had him re-located to Oxford
House in 2021, and since then, his mental well-being and quality of life have improved immensely. I am now glad to report that he is happy and settled. He places credit firmly at the feet of the amazing staff at Oxford House for this incredible turnaround, as do I. They are a pleasure to deal with, always helpful and accommodating, even with Covid restrictions in place. Every request and enquiry has been met with a "can-do" attitude, which is a credit to the profession. A very special thanks must go to the activities coordinator, who Dad describes as "his rock", being there for him at a very challenging and lonely time during the Pandemic. 1000 times, thank you.

Best place to call home for my mum. Very caring staff. Approachable to speak to. Never have been worried about the care they give mum from medication to food. Best care home. Put it this way if I have to go to a care home when I get older. This is the place I want to be. I know I will be happy there.

My mum was very happy at Oxford House Nursing Home. Mum had had an operation, she was unable to care for herself, 4 weeks respite got her back on her feet again and able to cope at home. Everyone was very kind, she was well cared for. I could relax knowing she was ok.

On my visit, I found my sister content, stable, comfortable, cosy and well-nourished. The staff were all extremely helpful, friendly and able to satisfy me on my sister's well being and needs. The entrance could do with a general update.

Was very apprehensive about Dad going into a home. Oxford House staff are brilliant. They look after Dad, taking care of all his needs, and we couldn't be happier. We felt incompetent trying to look after him and so unsure if we were doing things right. Oxford House are like the experts, and we know

My mum hasn't been here long. But in the short time she has been here, there was a very warm welcome on the door for her. The level of care that is provided for her is excellent. All the staff members are lovely and it is so nice to see my mum happy where she is.

Mum has been a resident at Oxford House for four years. She has always received an excellent standard of care and support. There has been no negative impact on mum from the lockdowns and restricted visiting, the communication from management and all the staff during this difficult has been faultless.
Mum always sounds well on the phone on our regular telephone calls. I would highly recommend Oxford House to anyone looking for a final care home for a loved one.

Up until her death in April 2020, my aunt received exceptional care at Oxford House. All the staff from management to the kitchen were superb. First-class home. The care my mother receives is brilliant. She is well-fed and taken care of to the highest degree. When she needs antibiotics they are ordered promptly. Whenever there is any kind of problem they inform me immediately, which I appreciate immensely. The manager of the care home does
a truly superb job without any fuss at all.

Amanda started her career in care in June 2007, working as a carer for Oxford House Community Care. She completed her Adult Nursing Diploma training in September 2009 and joined Oxford House Nursing Home in February 2010 as a registered nurse. Amanda was promoted to deputy manager in 2018 and has been the Registered Manager since November 2020.


Amanda decided to become a nurse as she loves helping people & receives job satisfaction from her role in helping others.

I started Oxford House in 2010 as a Care Assistant, this was my first care role and the reason I went into a career in nursing. I moved out of the area and worked in other care settings but nowhere else had the teamwork, family feel or values quite like we have at Oxford House. After receiving my BSc with Hons in Nursing, I returned as a qualified nurse in 2020 and was supported to undertake a postgraduate course. I returned and was promoted to Lead Nurse in 2023 and Deputy Manager/Clinical Lead in September 2024. I have grown both personally and professionally at Oxford House and am very proud to be part of the team.

I have been a chef at Oxford House Nursing Home since 2020. I have found the job very challenging at times but very rewarding too. My passion for food, alongside working with people and for people, assisting their different needs made me change my career path and I became a chef about 6 years ago. I love my job as I relish seeing our residents enjoying the food. It's very emotional hearing words such as " the best meal ever", and "that dish was gorgeous". I love the home too. The teamwork is outstanding and it is the best place I have ever worked. There is a family atmosphere that helps you feel appreciated. My goals are always high - to provide an outstanding service to our residents and I always look for opportunities to improve my skills and knowledge.


I love politics and in my free time, I love gardening, reading books and socialising.
