Bridge House's comprehensive care provision is designed to deliver skilled, professional and individually planned nursing care in an unobtrusive manner.

All staff were faultless - kind, reassuring and Mum's stay achieved what was needed, to rebuild her strength, following recent illness. Food outstanding. Room very comfortable, although there were issues & the underfloor heating results in the room being too hot and then too cold.

Although my mother appreciates the house and garden, the biggest plus of Bridge House (and its stand out feature) is the staff. They are unfailingly kind, committed and understanding of my mother's condition. I have never seen a single member of staff be anything other than compassionate and professional
even under trying circumstances. There is a team spirit and a sense of fun. Dementia team are exceptional.

Thank you so much for all your help getting my dad back on his feet. After struggling with walking due to his hip popping out twice after a total hip surgery. He's now fitter and more agile than he's been in years.

My father was, at times when his dementia got worse, very difficult to cope with, the staff were extremely patient and kind with him and dealt with him excellently with so much kindness and professionalism, l can't think of anywhere else l would have wanted him to be in. They provided care and attention
and lots of entertaining things all the time he couldn't get bored there. Their care was exceptional, l owe a big thanks to all the staff, also you are made so welcome every time you visit your loved one.

My mother stayed at Bridge House Nursing Home for ten weeks until November 2023. The room was clean and well-appointed and had a lovely view of the extensive gardens, which are really beautiful.
The staff were really friendly, kind and patient. The food is excellent and varied and they are very flexible
in the kitchen and will prepare an alternative if required. The nurses were really patient and kind and always looked after my mother with great attentiveness. The local GP came out each week and reviewed her and her drug programme which helped a lot.
There are plenty of staff around and there is always someone to talk to if you have any questions which is important. I had every confidence in the environment that was created in the home and I am glad that my mother was comfortable and happy in the home.

Following a stressful six weeks in hospital and rehabilitation unit, my husband had made no progress in mobilising after having surgery for a hip fracture.
He had a history of stroke fifteen years ago which had left him with right leg weakness and additionally, unable to speak.
The staff and physio
team at Bridge House Nursing Home quickly established respectful and caring communication with him and with excellent staffing levers (especially of physios), it only took four weeks to regain safe walking. Thank you to all involved.

Bridge Court accommodation is excellent, the family room nearby is comfortable, and admission was seamless with super efficient staff and knowledgeable nursing staff.

My wife and I are very happy indeed with the standard of care provided at Bridge House, where we have three relatives who are residents. The staff are wonderful - very kind caring and compassionate - and the facilities seem to us to be fine. Communication is excellent, real efforts are made to entertain
the residents and the staff seem to me to be very responsive to their individual needs.
My only (minor) comment is that two of our relatives find the music constantly playing in the public rooms to be very wearing - it's great when the conservatory is open and they can 'escape', but this is not always the case. I think it would be worth reviewing whether music should be played as much as it is.

My partner's mother came to you with many physical issues, being discharged from a hospital near her during Covid. She was isolated and restored to full health and is now in Bridge House Nursing Home.
The first time I came to your home I thought I would come here. As a past manager/nurse in both EMI
ward and day hospital, I was so impressed with the physical, social and as she was so anxious, her psychological care. That this very independent character says she is so happy makes her family and friends happy too. Thank you and the staff who perhaps do not realise how good they are.

Nursing care has been wonderful, really on the ball and has restored my mother-in-law to health.
Lots of entertainment choices and no complaints regarding the food.
Beautiful surroundings, and sitting in the garden in the summer was a delight. Carers are always helpful and willing to get my mother-in-law

Overall the care provided is very good however there are some improvements needed eg the better training of some carers and the infrastructure (building). The services provided are very good for residents, but for residents who prefer the quiet of their own room, constant noise and music playing in
open areas can be really upsetting and annoying. There could be more quiet areas for residents to retreat to when desired eg. in the conservatory, but if it's raining the roof leaks and so the room becomes unusable. Attention to detail could be better eg. if a soft diet is required, the kitchen should prepare the meals accordingly. Some of the food served is not of the highest standard and lacks sauces or flavours to make the dishes more enjoyable, there is a tendency to frequently serve Indian spiced foods eg. soups. I would still recommend Bridge House House Nursing Home and suggest that more individualised care be provided as much as possible. This is what could make the home outstanding!

My Mother has now spent four years at Bridge House and is still a resident in the nursing home. My mother suffers from Dementia. I cannot have enough words to say just how amazing the nursing home is.
Bridge House does not feel like a nursing home at all, at Bridge House it is amazing! They have music
playing, it's bright and light, residents are cared for and the staff really knows them inside and out.
What their likes and dislikes are, what makes them laugh, who they get on with and what they love to eat etc. My mother is so happy and she is always beautifully clean and dressed and cared for. The dining room and food is fantastic and residents' relatives are made welcome, the staff are bright and there are always activities going on.
The home is also small and cosy in numbers as well as feel and you have the sense that there is a real family feel.
I don't know what we would do without Bridge House caring for my lovely mother at 95 years!

We chose Bridge House for my mother's dementia care because of the high standards it reflected and how they genuinely cared for their guests and kept them real and treated them with respect. Management changed though and standards declined and our concerns for the program of care were growing. However
with a further change of management and a new team we have now seen a real change over the last few months and not only have we seen a return to the Bridge House we had originally seen, but a team that now seems to go beyond that. The bottom line of this is the homely feel and comfort reflected in my mother when we visit.

My father has Alzheimers and has very high care needs. He has been a resident at Bridge House since October 2022. I can quite honestly say that the care that he receives is absolutely excellent.
Bridge House itself is set in beautiful surroundings with a lovely friendly atmosphere. There is a terrific
care team who always have the residents needs at the front and centre of all that they do.
There is a regular programme of activities and all residents are encouraged to participate in these where they can.
The nursing staff have an excellent grasp of each residents care packages and are very perceptive to any changes that may require further medical attention. They work very closely with the local doctors surgery which means speedy medical investigation is available when required. This is very reassuring.
Relatives and friends are made to feel very welcome when they see their loved ones and there are no restrictions on when you can visit.

My mother has been in Bridge House for over two years now; it has had its ups and downs over this time.
The staff have generally been amazing with her.
But since the last home care manager has arrived, things have definitely improved.
I have been impressed with the entertainment and activities;
this has increased my mother’s mental stimulation massively.
Visiting zoo times, beach days, art activities and some lovely singers to name a few.
I really understand the staffing difficulties, especially since the catastrophic Brexit vote.
But at the moment, Bridge House has some wonderful staff, from the nursing staff to maintenance and grounds staff, reception and, of course, all importantly, all the wonderful care staff.
Just recently they have also opened a little cafe, that can be used by all blue light staff for a hot drink and a snack.

My mother has been at Bridge Court for nearly four years now. My sister and I visit on a regular basis and are both extremely happy with the care our mother is currently receiving. The home is under excellent management. Both the head and deputy head are hands-on with the residents and ensure they communicate
regularly with relatives. They have built up a top-class team of nurses and carers, and we know that our mother is in safe and capable hands. Since Covid, activities are now back up and running organised by a dedicated team of staff, who are committed to providing a stimulating programme for residents both in groups and one-to-one. Catering, maintenance and cleaning standards are high, and reception is always welcoming and helpful. Thank you.

Rachel

Rachel Stoneman

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2022

Rachel studied to be a nurse in Wales and qualified in 2015. She had a varied role as a nurse, starting in the burns intensive care unit in Swansea, moving to young adults with complex care needs and then into acute emergency care in Wexham Park.


Rachel found her passion for dementia care when joining a nurse bank team in a local care home whilst working as an acute care nurse. This inspiration has seen Rachel transfer her skills, working in care home management since 2018.


Rachel joined Bridge House in July 2022 and has made a big impact so far, Bridge received a GOOD overall in the CQC inspection in November 2022. Rachel has an honest, transparent, and respectful leadership style and is passionate about delivering high-quality person-centred care to the residents living in the community at Bridge House.


In Rachel’s spare time, she enjoys gardening, running and travelling.
