Burnham Lodge, offering nursing, residential and day care is housed in a splendid building dating from about 1900.

Located between Burnham, Maidenhead and Beaconsfield, it has been carefully and sympathetically restored to recreate a country house atmosphere, while providing a comfortable environment where it is easy for residents to continue to enjoy their individual way of life throughout their retirement.

Fully carpeted and centrally heated, the house offers a warm welcome. The lounge has magnificent views of the gardens. The newly decorated dining room is vibrant and welcoming to provide a delightful setting in which to enjoy freshly cooked meals, every day.

There are 39 comfortable single rooms and 10 double rooms, tastefully furnished, most with en- suite facilities. Each has colour television and resident/nurse call systems, as well as full internal and external telephone facilities.

A varied activities programme caters for residents with different hobbies and interests such as: arts & crafts, exercise classes, musical activities, cooking, days out, gardening and visits from animals.

Burnham Lodges benefits from a bright conservatory, communal lounge and a dining room to enjoy the fully inclusive homemade meals.

Also on offer at Burnahm Lodge is a hairdressing salon, access to video calling to stay in touch with family and friends and a fully inclusive laundry service.

Once mum settled in she has been happy and made a few friends. The home itself and the grounds are beautiful. During the Covid-19 crisis, garden visits have been made available.

We feel very fortunate that my mother is at Burnham Lodge. It is a lovely home, set in peaceful and beautiful grounds, and with incredible staff. My father and father-in-law were also residents and so we have the first-hand experience of how well the staff have looked after our parents' various and
progressive needs. The care, patience, kindness and humour shown by the staff is exemplary, which means we have had confidence, during the lockdown months when we couldn't visit, that Mum would continue to be well cared for. We can't begin to imagine how much more difficult the staff's work must have been with all the lockdown and Covid-19 challenges, but we do know, now that we have been able to visit Mum in the garden, that she is looking really well and happy. Well done to all the team and thank you.

Dad was transferred here from the hospital for nursing care following a life-changing stroke. This was a temporary placement for assessment. The whole team were very caring for dad and helpful to us as his family in what were difficult times with covid restrictions. Dad has now been moved to a permanent
placement nearer to home. Had Burnham Lodge been closer, we would’ve been more than happy for him to have stayed there.

We have been delighted with Mum’s care at Burnham Lodge since she moved there directly from hospital in April. It has been an extremely challenging time with coronavirus restrictions, but all of the lovely staff have done everything possible for the residents and are always there to speak to about Mums
care. We know that Mum is in safe hands with 24-hour care and medical care at this worrying time, which is a huge relief. The home is beautiful and Mum has a beautiful, newly decorated room looking out onto the pretty gardens. As restrictions are relaxed we look forward to her enjoying many activities.
We are extremely happy and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this home.

Our mum has been at Burnham Lodge since February 2020 and has settled in very well. It was so nice for the family to be able to visit whenever they wanted to and be most welcome by all the great staff.
Of course, the visits have had to change due to the virus but the staff have managed to arrange
“garden visits” for us to see mum. It was so good to see her looking so well and sporting a new hair cut that one of your wonderful staff had given mum with our permission.
The family would live to say thank you to everybody for all their hard work, especially during the last few months.

Mum has been at Burnham Lodge for four months now and seems to be really happy there and has settled in well. All the staff are lovely, kind and caring and she has been very well looked after. We are especially thankful to the staff for making Mum's birthday such a special, happy occasion in March.
Burnham Lodge is in a lovely location, surrounded by woods and has recently been beautifully renovated. The grounds are large and the gardens are stunning. It's been hard not to be able to visit Mum during the lockdown, but being able to see her twice on FaceTime was brilliant and really reassuring. Thanks to all the staff at Burnham Lodge during these extremely difficult times, your hard work and dedication is very much appreciated by all the family.

My mother has been in your home since March 2020 and during this difficult time for the staff due to isolation of residents and family etc not being able to visit, all of the staff have been first class and the care my mother has received could not have been better. The staff have kept in touch regarding
how she has settled in and we have been fortunate that we can speak to her on a regular basis. Not seeing her was difficult but the staff taking the time to add photos on the Burnham Care Facebook was a lovely action so both the family and friends could see how well she was. My sister and I both agree that without the care she has received in your home we doubt she would be with us today. A big thank you to all the staff at Burnham Lodge you have been kind, caring and considerate and we could not wish for mum to be anywhere else.

My mother went to Burnham Lodge just over three years ago and the care and kindness that was shown not only to me but to her was exemplary. It's always a hard decision to place a loved one in a nursing home but after visiting various local ones, Burnham Lodge shone out. All the staff without exception
have been wonderful. I used to visit her regularly and I spoke with her on the phone daily and never ever did she complain. I am not able to mention names of staff here but if I could, the list is just too long. There is a wonderful feeling of warmth and compassion for each and every resident and for the staff, nothing is too much trouble. All occasions were happy but Christmas daytime was just as perfect as it could be - something I will never forget.
The staff are all first class and I am exceedingly grateful for all they did for my beloved mother, right through to the very end. I thank you all each and every one of you, you are fantastic.

My mother had been at Burnham Lodge for 7 months, and I am extremely happy with the home.
Without exception, all the management and staff I have come across have been caring, attentive, and understanding. They have also shown to be professional and highly competent in their roles, and have managed
to alleviate my fears and worries about putting my mother into a nursing home.
The staff and management make It feels more like a 'home' than a care home, and if I or my mum have had any special requirements they have been happy to accommodate these. My mum is very fussy about which food she has and the times she eats, and the staff have offered her different foods at the times she wants it, even in the middle of the night!
Before this permanent move, my mum has been in a number of homes on a short stay basis before; and this is by far the best.
I was so worried about moving Mum to a care home that I put it off, but I do feel confident that she is well looked after at Burnham Lodge.

A lovely home with caring staff who looked after my godfather to a very high standard. He enjoyed his time at Burnham Lodge and I was always pleased to see how happy he was. My wife took up residence in Burnham Lodge early in October and the carers and nurses there have succeeded in making her comfortable in her new surroundings in a friendly, efficient and good-humoured way. There is good feedback between all staff and family members which is much appreciated. There is

Burnham Lodge is situated in a wooded area and has well-tended lawns and is surrounded by beautiful ancient trees. The household and nursing staff are kind and attentive to the needs of the old and infirm people in their care and the lodge is clean and warm. To sum up, I must say that I felt safe and

Mum came to Burnham Lodge in May 2019 and due to finances (Social Services) has to be moved in October 2019. The care mum had at Burnham Lodge was excellent as she needed 24/7 care. The staff managed to put the family at ease regarding care as this was a big step. Mum was very well looked after and
seemed to thrive. I just hope the next care home is as good at caring.

Very favourable experience. Staff kindly and attentive during my three weeks stay. Room most comfortable, good beds and linen changed on a regular basis. Food excellent at lunchtime. Just a little disappointing at supper time. Garden is a great feature. A very homely feel is notable.

Our chef and kitchen assistants take menu orders from residents on a daily basis, and meals are provided based on the orders received. I am thrilled to begin my journey as the new Clinical Home Manager at Burnham Lodge Care Home, at Hartford Care, with a deep commitment to providing high-quality care. My primary focus is to create a nurturing, supportive environment where both residents and staff can thrive. I firmly believe that exceptional care stems from compassion, dedication, and teamwork, and I am determined to uphold these values in everything we do. By prioritising the well-being and morale of our incredible team, I aim to foster a culture of mutual respect and collaboration that enhances the lives of everyone in our care.


To achieve our shared goals, I will be working closely with the team to implement innovative strategies, that not only strengthen occupancy rates, but also, build on the outstanding reputation of our home within the community. Through effective marketing, community engagement, and showcasing the heart of our care home. I am confident we can reach new heights together. My name is Daria, and I’ve had the privilege of working at Burnham Lodge Nursing Home for over two years. I’m excited to support Burnham Lodge as a Deputy Manager and continue growing in my career. I've been a nurse for eight years, throughout my career, I’ve worked extensively in the learning disability and dementia care sectors, which has fueled my passion for providing person-centred care.


I love bringing smiles to people’s faces through outstanding care, which keeps me motivated every day. I’m particularly passionate about dementia care and wanted to work for an organisation where ‘people matter’.


At Burnham Lodge, my positivity and enthusiasm are not only supported but encouraged, and that makes all the difference.


While some days can be challenging, I always find moments that remind me why I love working in care—whether it’s a resident’s smile, hearing their life stories, or sharing an emotional moment with a colleague.


I’m excited to continue developing in this rewarding field and make an even greater difference in the lives of those I care for.
