Barchester Chalfont Care Home is on the edge of Gerrards Cross Golf Course, just minutes from the pretty villages of Chalfont St Peter, Chalfont St Giles and Denham.

It sits in magnificent grounds with marvellous views across a picturesque lake and the fine fairways of the golf course; yet close to the M25, M40/A40.

The emphasis is on outstanding care, dignity and choice and how residents live their life.

There is an extensive activities programme, as well as their own music therapist, on-site physiotherapist, hairdresser manicurist and aromatherapist. They provide first-class 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people with dementia in the memory lane community.

I spent seven weeks at the above care home. Only had a problem with one of the staff. My experience was one of being looked after in a hotel. Excellent staff, food and being treated as a human and not just sat in a chair in front of a TV. The team that ran the activities were excellent as were most
of the staff.

My mum has been a resident at Chalfont Lodge for approximately 12 years. She has Alzheimer's disease. The care she has received during this time has been consistently outstanding. She is cared for and loved by the nurses. I am kept informed of her care, she is warm, clean and well fed. Her medical needs
are all looked after so we have nothing to worry about.


She is stimulated through regular activities and although she has advanced Alzheimer's, she is always included. My family and I have been devastated with the prognosis of her Alzheimer's and the home has supported us throughout the years. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

During 2016 the Sunningdale unit at Chalfont Lodge has been transformed. It has become a model which delivers consistently effective and compassionate care to its residents.
In nearly 7 years of association with the Sunningdale unit, the standard of care has never been so high.
It's finally become
a joy to visit our son, who is in long-term care.
Whilst the management of the home can take credit for the recruitment and development of such a highly competent team of people, they must also acknowledge their responsibility to maintain the motivation and morale of the staff involved.

I have always heard from my friend about how well she is being looked after - kind carer, delicious food. I would only say that sometimes her room is rather untidy and cluttered (but that is probably her fault)
As a visitor, I feel known and welcomed by the staff - rather like a 4-star hotel.

My wife is looked after extremely well by carers, nurses and all the staff.
She is treated with respect and everyone here has always got a smile and a greeting when they see her in her wheelchair.
She can be quite aggressive when being washed and in the shower, but the staff just smile and say "we
understand".
It is a great relief to me that she is here, in a well-managed house.

Overall, very happy with Chalfont Lodge. However, my father has been waiting for months now to have his room refurbished. I find the carers very caring and my father is treated with utmost dignity and respect. The management and staff are very pleasant and very approachable at all times.

My mother has been at Barchester Chalfont Lodge for 3 years almost. Before she was in an awful home elsewhere. I cannot specify how pleased I am with my mother's care. She is so happy at Barchester Chalfont Lodge and the staff are amazing, always acknowledging my mother and myself whenever I visit,

My wife has been a resident for + 3 years and before that a day care patient for about a year. In all that time I cannot fault the care provided her which has been quite exceptional. The care home has a real family atmosphere and the rapport between staff and families is brilliant. The meals are exquisite.
Altogether a most caring establishment.
