Castlemead Court Care Centre is situated in the heart of historic Newport Pagnell which is a small and thriving market town only a 20-minute drive away from central Milton Keynes. The home has strong links with the local community and engages with local events such as the annual carnival.

Castlemead Court is a modern purpose built 79 bed care home set in its own grounds with private parking for visitors. The home provides the highest standards of care and accommodation for people with residential, dementia, nursing or palliative care needs.

All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all areas of the home are accessible to wheelchair users. There are lounge and dining areas with kitchenettes on each floor where meals are provided by the award winning chef and his team who can cater for all specialist diets. In addition, there are various quiet areas around the home and a Hairdressing Salon.

There is a full activities programme to suit all needs and abilities and regular Church Services are held for those who wish to attend.

The friendly management and staff team are very welcoming and supportive and provide the highest standard of individualised care in a home from home environment.

Wonderful and clean, friendly and wonderful atmosphere, staff are very helpful and plenty of things going on for all. Jubilee party was amazing for all residents. Grounds are always kept lovely. Look forward to the next event.

At first I was wary about grandma going into a home, you hear some scary stuff on the news. But now am so happy grandma has gone to Castlemead Court Care Home its not what I expected care homes to be like at all. Grandma looks so happy when I come to see her, she has made friends and has her little
group of ladies who she sits with and she just looks happy and healthy. Me and mum looked after her at home for a long time and wanted to keep looking after her but we couldn't cope anymore. The staff really seem to get that we know her best and they show how much they really care, she has become the popular lady with the staff too and it's so lovely to see her settled in and enjoying the activities and bits they put on for them there. Every time I pop in grandmas up to something with the ladies who do the events and crafts. Thank you Castlemead Court and the staff on daisy who help grandma.

My opinion is that my mum is looked after to the best of staff's ability.

My relative has been at Castlemead Court Care Home for just over a year, in that time she has always appeared well dressed, happy and comfortable. I am no longer asked for her to be taken home so I now know she is settled and thinks of Castlemead as her home. The staff have been 100% behind this transition

My nan has always enjoyed her meals there and compliments the chef on the variety of meals provided. They even provide her with a meal of her choice every month on her special day. It was a surprise last week when I saw my nan outside the local pub enjoying a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. This
really made my day. Well done to the staff who made this possible after a terrible last year.

The staff at this care home have been excellent, from the receptionist to the manager. My aunt is very happy here and enjoys the activities best of all. The home is very clean and tidy. My aunt always looks well kept every time I visit. The care is exceptional, leaving my aunt in a care home was the
hardest thing I have done but she is very happy and it's nice to hear her call Castlemead Court Care Home her home.

My great-grandma lives at Castlemead Court Care Home, she loves living there and I love my FaceTime calls with her as I love hearing all about the fantastic activities she has been doing. Sometimes the staff join the FaceTime call and we all have a sing-song - it’s fantastic and really shows how wonderful
everyone at the home is.

I have been treated with kindness and consideration. Also by cheerfulness. This I appreciate. I also like a little joke and have had many which also makes a difference. The staff work hard and have much to do. All this takes a lot of tolerance which they have. My room faces the garden which is a solace.
I walk the perimeter of the building daily. My dog was allowed to meet me. Lots of visitors.

From what I have observed, the home is fresh and well maintained. I was recommended this home by a friend, it has lived up to my expectations. The management took the time to settle myself and my sister into the routines and for that I thank them. The staff are very approachable and feel like friends
already. My sister is extremely happy and feels like she is at home, that suits me.

Mum is recovering from a very short illness and I can not thank the staff enough. They have communicated daily with me her progress and ensured Mum is comfortable. I am unable to see Mum daily and so it is heart-warming when they send little pictures or cards from Mum. I have said thank you a thousand
times but this will never be enough for giving me peace of mind.

My mother-in-law, 96, is a very independent lady. She is very hard to accept any assistance from anyone.
Carers in Castlemead Court Care Home are awesome! They found a way to communicate and help my mother-in-law. She is enjoying life in Castlemead, she's loved by staff and we are very happy with all

I have been coming to the home now for seven months. It has been so very difficult for everybody, yet when I arrive, I am always greeted by a warm, friendly face. The staff cannot do enough for me or my relative. The management team are approachable and have listened and acted upon any concerns I may
have had. Covid has a lot to answer for! But, here at the home, they go above and beyond.

My husband was only at Castlemead Court for a few months before he passed away, and as a family, we can’t thank the staff enough for the care he received.
He was always spotless and smelt nice with his aftershave. It was obvious how much he liked the staff. Although he had difficulty with his speech,
we could see how happy he was.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff; they work very hard but always had the time to answer any questions.

I was so exhausted and could on just cope.
The manageress is very competent, always smiling and helpful.
Four months on and still trying to improve my own health. As we all know Covid has proved very difficult for visiting loved ones but hopefully, this will change shortly.

Grace Madenyika

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2020

Grace is a registered nurse, an adult branch, and has been qualified for 8 years. Grace has worked in various NHS departments, hospices, community research and private organisations in which she’s held different positions from staff nurse newly qualified, to clinical leadership and training. Grace is passionate about elderly care and end-of-life as well as ensuring her colleagues are supported and inspired to develop their skills in those areas of care they are also passionate about.


She progressed from Care Manager to Home Manager in December 2023.

Karen Wilkins

Job Title: Clinical Lead

Joined: 2017

Karen is a registered general nurse with over 30 years of experience. Karen has worked in a variety of settings including nursing homes, acute medicine, and HIV nursing as well as working in the prison service for 14 years.
Karen joined Excelcare in 2017 and worked as a staff nurse until taking the role of Clinical Lead in December 2023.


Karen has a passion for providing excellent care for those living at Castlemead and has a special interest in wound care.
