Kents Hill is an established purpose-built care home offering elderly residential, nursing and dementia care. A professional team has furnished the Home to an exceptionally high standard, providing elegance and comfort.

The “home from home” feel at Kents Hill is created by the dedicated staff who have been selected not only for their professional ability but also for their commitment to truly making a difference for the people in their care.

Resident’s rooms are spacious and feature en suite facilities. The communal areas are at the centre of what makes Kents Hill a real community whether it be at mealtimes or when enjoying activities. There are no fixed visiting hours so friends and family can come and see residents at any time.

Activities and day trips are an integral part of the resident’s well being. The activities coordinators encourage and help residents continue with existing interests and also introduce new hobbies.

The minibus is used frequently to take residents on day trips near and a little further from the Home. The trips are very popular and recently, days out to Woburn Safari Park, Middleton Hall, Frosts Garden Centre, Stoke Goldington Small Gauge Railway and Linslade Canal have been greatly enjoyed.

The dining experience at Kents Hill boasts fine home cooking by a professional Chef who has created a menu alongside the residents to reflect the interests and tastes of all.

Respite care at Kents Hill is very popular and enables those wishing to experience what the Home has to offer before making a full commitment.

In October 2015, 15 brand new luxury suites opened along with a new lounge, library, salon and bistro all adding to the style and comfort the home offers and in 2018 a refurbishment of the communal areas and one side of the nursing suite took place.

My husband came to Kents Hill Care Home four years ago, and has deteriorated considerably during that time, but has had excellent and professional nursing care as his needs have increased. The staff throughout the care home are very caring and friendly, to me as well as to my husband, especially the
reception staff, and I would not hesitate to recommend the care home to others.

I found Kents hill staff always friendly , everyone spoke on entering and in corridors. One staff member in particular was amazing , you are very lucky to have her on your staff, she is very 'in tune' and empathetic with relatives and the resident always went the extra mile! Catering staff were polite
and always knocked on door before entering room. Receptionists always greeted us. Clean and comfortable rooms . Would recommend your care home..

My nan joined Kent's Hill on her journey to end of life.
My nan has continually been made to feel comfortable making fantastic relationships with all of the staff in the home they all treat her with the utmost respect and kindness they value the dignity, she deserves.
As a carer myself for many years,
I was very skeptical about how she was going to be treated and I can't honestly say with my hand on my heart I wouldn't change it for the world all of the staff on the nightingale floor have become an extended family.

I am unsure if I would recommend the home. Head office needs to be far more supportive and put some of the vast revenue they take and put back into the maintenance of the grounds and bedrooms. My mother's room needs attention and so does the bathroom. The garden is a mess with dangerous slabs which
you have known about for some time. There have been some issues with quality of care and items going missing but have been resolved. Management needs more support from head office. No reply from email to head office!

Always a friendly reception from the staff when I visit my sister at Kents Hill. Rooms and communal spaces are always clean and well kept. Feels like a home from home and the residents feel it is their home. Care is excellent, with just the right mix of professionalism and informality. Would certainly
recommend it.

Our mum is so happy at Kents Hill and I can see why. Every member of staff is positive, smiley and always willing to talk. The home is exceptionally clean and decorated modernly - from the inviting reception to the cosy dining area. Entertainment is always available and the staff work tirelessly to
ensure the residents are engaged and happy. The coronation and jubilee parties were so well organised and it was so lovely to be invited to eat, drink and celebrate with all the residents.
Can’t recommend this amazingly run care home enough.

Moving your vulnerable parent into a care home is a stressful exercise so we were delighted to find that Kents Hill is an excellent care home and the staff are exemplary. They are welcoming, caring, respectful and highly professional. Mum is happier at Kents Hill than she has been for years and we are
delighted with our choice. Thank you to all at Kents Hill for your dedication and your care.

The place is so clean and all the staff are so friendly, it’s more like a hotel than a care home. The rooms are decorated lovely with carpet and there is no clinical feel about it at all. It’s so relaxing and both my nan and grandad have been here and, honestly, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to give
my nan a lovely stay for the last few months of her life. Another good point is that the staff will always make sure to have a catch-up with you about your family residents' progress and information on what’s happening with them. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough, always leave feeling my nan is safe and extremely well looked after which is more than a relief. Thank you so much.

I cannot praise Kents Hill Care Home management and staff enough for their dedication, professionalism and attentiveness, which made the hard decision to place my mum in a care home so much easier.
It is wonderful to see the positive interaction between all the staff and the residents and the fondness
and friendliness shown so often.
The weekly activities programme is great for Mum's stimulation and the mere fact that the families are informed of these in a weekly newsletter, via email, is another indication of the care home's very special caring role. There are even activities at the weekends.
I feel very fortunate to have my mind at rest knowing that my mum is cared for in the best possible way. Also that I am only a short walk away from her for my visits.

Our dad was only in Kents Hill Care Home for three days as he sadly passed away. In his time there, he received the most wonderful, genuine care full of love and respect. All the staff he came into contact with were wonderful. One lady was just perfect, so loving and gentle with him. She cared with
her whole being, she even mothered my sister and I. We will be eternally grateful that our dad spent his last days in her care.

My dad celebrated his 100th birthday recently at Kents Hill Care Home, where he has been a resident for over 8 years. The management and staff provided us with a function room for the family to celebrate, with balloons and decorations, food and hot drinks and even a birthday cake lovingly made by one
of the care home chefs. At least 3 members of staff came in on their day off to make it a really special day, just another example of staff going above and beyond their duties that we’ve witnessed in the last 8 years. My family and I were so very grateful to be able to spend this special time with Dad.

During the last 7-months of Covid restrictions, it is reassuring to know mum is being well cared for in a safe environment. It is so hard not having the freedom to visit her in her room anymore. The staff at Kents Hill are warm and friendly, and I often drop off letters and little treats for mum, and
they give me updates on how she is. I truly appreciate everything they do to ensure the happiness and well being of everyone in their care and working selflessly in these difficult times.

My Mother has been a Resident for almost 2 years now and was on a lot of different medication. Her condition was in decline and she needed her food to be pulped up and she could only drink through a straw. She could hardly walk and communication was difficult. One of the Senior Care Staff noticed this
and researched the medication Mum was on and then suggested to the GP that they might try reducing some of her tablets. The GP agreed and this was done. It wasn't long before improvements started to materialise. It's now a few months later and Mum is a different person. She is walking, talking, doesn't need her food to be pulped and doesn't need a straw to drink. Her mind is now active and we have our Mum back! She talks to us just like she used to, is bright and alert and is even encouraging other residents to exercise. She is now able to read books again, which she does rather than sleeping all of the time. We are so grateful to have our Mum's health improve so drastically. Thank you!

We chose this home for my dad, as it is Morden with a friendly cozy feel. The rooms are a reasonable size, there is access to a lovely garden patio area, small lounge dining areas, a small shop and coffee shop on site. There are lots of activities available if the residents would like to take part in
which they are encouraged to do. There are regular visits from local schools and the community which the residents seem to enjoy and nothing seems too much for the staff. We found the perfect place for dad knowing he would be happy, safe and well cared for.

When the time came when my Mother in Law needed to go into residential care I researched several care homes in the area and when my wife and I came to look at Kents Hill Care Home we knew straight away it was the one we wanted her to be. It is clean and bright and doesn't have the "feel" of a care home.
The staff are all friendly, helpful and informative and my Mother in Law has settled in well. She enjoys the activities put on by the entertainment staff and there are several carers who look after her on a daily basis she is very fond of.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.178)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.178) out of 10 for Kents Hill Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.678 for Kents Hill Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (89 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 118 Ratings = 4.678

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kents Hill Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 15 = 0.6

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
