My mother has been a resident at Milton Court since October 2017. She is privately funding her care and suffers from dementia. During this time, she has received very good care from attentive and dedicated staff. From conversations I have had with staff members, their work is clearly a vocation and
something they care about. However, sadly I cannot say that the home represents value for money. Since moving in, my mother's fees have increased by 37% in just over three years and frankly are now verging on unsustainable. I have exchanged correspondence with the owners to try to understand the reasons behind this and have not received what I consider a sufficiently detailed explanation of the fee increase. I realize that care is expensive and am under no illusions about this but I cannot reconcile in my own mind fees of £5,300 a month, however good the care provision, particularly when the group accounts show remuneration for the 4 Directors totalling £2.7m during the two years to 31/3/19.

My mother, who has Alzheimer's, after a very difficult year was lucky enough to move to Milton Court this month. The transition was smooth, with all her belongings placed/unpacked for her before she arrived. The staff have been wonderful and really understand her quirky personality. Mum has only been
at Milton Court for a couple of weeks and has shown improvement in her mental health, general wellbeing and has even begun using her mobile phone again to call us. She had lost this skill about 9 months ago and during these difficult times to hear her voice, when she chooses to speak to us is fabulous. I've just found out the schedule for Christmas Day and this has put my mind at rest as it is perfect! She will have a great day. I can't wait to hear all about it from my mum.

My father who suffered from dementia had been a resident at Milton COurt Car Home since May 2017. Sadly he passed away on 27th July 2020. During his time at Milton Court, he was treated with the utmost respect and the care he received was second to none. The staff really are wonderful and go out of
their way to make the residents feel valued and well cared for. I would highly recommend this care home.

My late wife, who had severe dementia, required nursing care early in 2019. Her family and I (she was my second wife) were recommended to Milton Court by the Council. The admissions policy of this care home requires prospective residents to have funds of £100K available otherwise admission is at the
discretion of the home manager. My wife was admitted on 1 March 2019 and became eligible for local authority financial support from July 2019. A word of caution: the local authority is another Council and their funding was not in place until 1 November 2019 despite my submission of the appropriate financial documents to the Council in May 2019.
As a family, we were well satisfied with excellent support, and nursing care that my wife received, especially at the end of her life. She died in March of this year, and her death was not related to the Covid-19 virus. I cannot comment upon the activities provided as my wife’s condition rendered her unable to derive any benefit from them.

Our mother has been welcomed with open arms since we needed to find her permanent care. She was reluctant to relinquish her home of over 50 years but, after a lengthy period in hospital and rehabilitation care she decided that needs must. She has fitted in extremely well, taking part in the endless
activities and enjoying them immensely. All the staff are caring, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, further health issues have restricted Mum, but she has been looked after with great care throughout. Currently, not being able to visit is hard on her and us, but video calls that the staff help her with mean we can see her, this is very comforting. We know that she is being looked after how we would like her to be and cannot wait to get in and see her, and the wonderful team again as soon as possible.

My 89-year-old mum moved into the care home in December 2019, following months of constant hospital visits with mild strokes and TIA's and living at home, even with private care, became unviable. Since being in Milton Court, she hasn't had a single visit to A&E and that for me speaks volumes. She has
a lovely big room, she enjoys the many activities, and doesn't even grumble about the food that much. The staff are great. We both think they do an amazing job anyway and never more so than in this terrible pandemic. To all the staff who are working so hard, going into the frontline with smiles on their faces, keeping up the morale of the residents and keeping Covid-19 at bay when it has ravaged so many nursing homes across the nation - I can't say thank you enough. I know Mum feels very grateful to be at Milton Court. It is home now. I know she's happy and that is everything.

My mother has been a very happy resident in the care home for over a year. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the home has always acted in the best possible way to protect their residents and staff.
They were one of the first care homes in Milton Keynes to make the very tough decision to not allow any
more visits from family and friends to the home. This upset and confused some residents, but it was the only way to try and keep residents safe.
But the home has embraced many ways of helping the residents stay in contact with their family and loved ones, with social media, fantastic effort!
They just recently had a lovely celebration for everybody on VE day, residents shared stories from 1945, sang songs and had a lovely tea party, everyone looked so happy, what a brilliant way of lifting the spirits, the staff dressed up in character and even the Prime Minister made an appearance.
Thank you all your commitment, love and understanding in these unprecedented times. Stay safe.

Staff were amazing to my mum who spent a year here a few months on the dementia level; then level three. All staff listened to any concerns, and if I thought there was a problem, it was sorted immediately with patients. Plenty of food and drink, and they are able to have familiar things of their own
to make their ensuite room more homely. As visitors, we were treated with smiles and a friendly greeting. Our thanks especially go to the girls in the reception, the nurses and carers; I was so happy my mum was able to spend her last year at Milton Court.

There are many aspects of this care home that impress me related to the general standard of the physical environment in particular. But I have also been very impressed and reassured by the quality of the nursing care specifically, and the willingness of the nursing staff to advocate for the residents
with knowledge, skill and compassion. I have witnessed this more than once in the last six months or so that I have been visiting Milton Court, and it speaks to a general culture of care that is genuinely patient/resident focussed and highly professional. In addition, I always feel listened to by all staff I come into contact with whatever their designation.

My mother came to Milton Count after a three week period in hospital. She was unable to go home, due to lack of mobility. The care from the staff and nurses was excellent and although very poorly, Mum's short time in the home was a very enjoyable one. The carers and management all come and gave us their
condolences when we emptied the room after she passed which was much appreciated.

When the need came to source a care home for my mother I contacted Milton Court and from our first contact to her moving in the service and care shown has been outstanding. Every member of staff has treated my mother with care and consideration and she settled into her new home very quickly. She is
now happy and well cared for. The rooms are very comfortable and I'm told the food is great! There is a constant range of activities to get involved with and the initial overall response from my mother is that there is a nice atmosphere within the home. You certainly pick up on the fact that it's a place where residents are happy and that is really down to the excellent staff. Placing a loved one into care is a massive decision and I have not for one second doubted that this is the right place for my mother to live. If you are looking for a care home where your loved one will be treated with care and respect I would recommend paying Milton Court a visit.

On my normal day, you will see me turning my hand to many things such as making sure resident’s rooms are all in good working order. Doing our daily, weekly and monthly checks. I will support you with your move-in by putting up pictures, helping move any belongings or putting things in place for you. I am always here to help.
