Abberton Manor is an established, well-respected nursing home, located in a listed Queen Anne Manor house, set in acres of formal lawns and woodland, enjoying unspoiled views over the Roman River Valley. The home, which is gold standard End of Life commended, provides professional nursing care within a genuine family setting, with long-serving staff having been trained to significantly high levels. The home is part of a small, privately owned group of six, high-quality homes.

Professionals offer long-term care, holiday or respite care to enable family carers to take a break, and postoperative or convalescent care for clients recovering from illness or operation. The home is at the forefront of the MyLife project, where care emphasis is on the quality of life and ensuring that individual wishes and needs are at the forefront of everything. The team believes that its activities programme is varied and comprehensive, aimed at showing that a care home is a positive choice to be made. Families and friends are encouraged to visit at any time of day and be an active part of the home and its daily life.

The property benefits from a choice of spacious and elegant lounges and a large hall, and also has a dining room for those who wish to dine in company.

Abberton Manor Nursing Home is a beautiful care home both inside and out! The gardens are always kept looking beautiful and are fully accessible to the residents and family visiting should they wish to use them. Abberton Manor Nursing Home is a very safe and clean home and the staff always go above
and beyond to give their service users the care and support they need to live their lives to their absolute fullest. The activities are always great fun! With staff always coming up with new ideas to give the residents a great time! Should they choose to join in. Like all human beings we all have our down days the staff at Abberton Manor Nursing Home give loving care to cheer up and prompt service users to join in or if they wish to just sit and watch, no one gets left out! I am a relative of a service user at Abberton Manor Nursing Home and I couldn’t have made a better choice, my relative has blossomed during her stay and continues to be very happy and safe and very very well cared for.

Nice to see the home open for visiting again without appointments. Some new faces, possibly agency. All appeared calm at the point of the visit, and all staff encountered were polite. I fed my mother for the first time in nearly two years. I feel the home is gradually returning to normal.

Staff are very caring and helpful - Dad appears well looked after. Visiting is difficult post-covid. Hard to get a convenient time to fit around work due to limited visiting.

Everyone at Abberton Manor was kind and friendly, professional and caring. Dad's every need was recognised and he was assisted and enabled to maintain as much independence as was possible. He and I viewed all the staff as friends. I thank you all for your love and care of Dad.

I thought that the care my mum had was good. Staff were always helpful and kept us up to date with any changes to my mum's condition. She was kept clean and staff dealt with her with a sense of humour which she appreciated.

The fabric of the building is in need of some refurbishment as do the bedrooms and public areas that we saw, especially in view of the monthly charge. There were some miscommunication issues internally but generally, the nursing staff were attentive and compassionate.

My father is terminally ill and my elderly mother could no longer cope. He wanted to go into the hospice but they had no space so he agreed to try Abberton Manor. We are so pleased with the level of care he has received and he is very happy. The manager has been excellent and so helpful, she and her
team have gone the extra mile to make my dad feel comfortable and at home. Not being able to visit at the moment is unfortunate and hard but we feel very reassured that he is being well looked after. He said the food is very good too. A huge thank you to you all.

It id difficult to review as we have been unable to visit due to covid. However, we have been kept up to date regarding my mum's condition and her general well being. There is always someone at the end of the phone who will answer my questions and put me at ease. I feel very confident that she is being

I was resident for care at this nursing home following a stroke from March to September 2020. At no time could I fault the treatment I received. It was excellent!

I have been a resident here since the new year of 2019. The staff have always been professional, friendly and helpful. Our kitchen staff works very hard - ensuring that food is prepared in the home - not prepared elsewhere and carried in. Laundry is dealt with quickly and efficiently. With registered
nurses always on duty, advice and care are always available. This is far better than I ever imagine a home might be.

Came to see my Grandad for a visit in the garden. Brilliantly organised, the staff were very helpful and brilliant throughout the whole process. Never seen my grandad so happy in such positive homely environment. I would highly recommend Abberton Manor to everyone.

My aunt went into Abberton Manor in May 2019 after a bad stroke. She has been treated with great kindness, compassion and consideration.
Well-groomed, well-fed, always made to feel safe and loved.
The home is immaculately clean. When we visit we are always made to feel very welcome and included
in my aunt's care.
I could not wish for a better nursing home.

My father resided at Abberton Manor for just over a year, until he recently passed away. I have nothing by admiration and thanks for all the care my dad received whilst in Abberton Manor. He was looked after with so much compassion and love from all the staff, nothing was too much for them. The whole
home had a lovely family feel to it and all were treated with great dignity and respect. I loved the way Abberton Manor had an amazing community feel to it. Often visited by the local school and various other outside organisations. We (the family) were also made to feel so welcome every time we visited - often daily! I would also like this opportunity to thank you and all your staff for the care and attention Dad received from all at Abberton Manor. Although it was a tough year for Dad, we couldn’t have asked for better care. All your staff are amazing and deserve a medal, they were so friendly, caring and compassionate. And made us all feel so welcome as a family when we visited.

My wife spent seven months at Abberton Manor whilst terminally ill with cancer. She was happy and content there, in spite of being bedridden. The staff were very friendly and very caring, she was completely lucid and was able to chat with the staff, several of whom became her friends within the limits
of their duties. The food was good and she especially liked that if what was on the menu was not to her liking she could request something else and it would be provided. When she suddenly became very ill and was in her final days her passing was well managed and made to be peaceful and pain-free. I would strongly recommend Abberton Manor.

The staff at Abberton Manor Nursing Home were very friendly and helpful. I was so pleased my father was accepted into the home. My brother was admitted to Abberton Manor in February, suffering from terminal cancer. We, as his family, knew that he would not have many weeks of life left, but were grateful that he had a lovely room with a beautiful view. The meals provided were very good too, served and presented very nicely.
When his condition worsened, and he became bed-bound, the care my brother received was excellent. All staff were attentive and kind, in fact, I felt that they treated him as they would one of their own family.
The end-of-life care my brother received was very sensitively-administered, and we as his family were shown great compassion too.
Although our experience of Abberton Manor was a short one, we were able to appreciate the professionalism and high level of care from everyone working there, helping to make each resident feel important, and 'at home'. Thank you, everyone!
