Set in nine acres of grounds, the home offers a warm welcome to anyone in need of nursing, residential and dementia care. Short stays are also offered to help both carers and their elderly loved ones at times when they need a break or a little extra support. It could be that you’re going away and you want peace of mind that you’re loved one won’t be on their own, or they might need to recuperate after an operation or illness. Whatever the reason, their doors are open. Advanced bookings available.

The home has a dedicated dementia-friendly house, known as Mallard, where residents are supported by dementia champions. The home’s interior has been decorated to suit individuals with dementia, being colour-themed and including memory triggers.

Hatfield Peverel is a lively and welcoming care home at the heart of your local community. The dedicated care team plan a varied programme of activities and social gatherings, which you’re welcome to take part in. From flower arranging, baking clubs, tea dances to regional events such as summer fetes and remembrance celebration events, there is always something going on.

Great attention is placed on the food menu to make sure it is both enjoyable and nutritious, made by an experienced chef using fresh produce, while there are snacks and drinks available throughout the day and night. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients. Soon after a resident arrives at Hatfield Peverel, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

I would definitely recommend 'The Mallard'. As a family, we really can’t thank the staff enough, for how they looked after our Dad, and made his time with them, as pleasant and as comfortable (pain-free) as possible. The caring staff were amazing but equally so were the whole team from the cleaner
to the laundry lady, to the admin and management staff. The staff work so well together and have such a caring, kind and helpful way with all the residents – which at times can be challenging, but despite this, they always helped the residents in a sympathetic and professional way. I think it’s the staff that make a great care home and that’s why I would recommend this home. They always made us feel welcome, whatever time of day we turned up. The Nurses always phoned if there were any slight changes in Dad’s health and during the time my Dad was there, it was always the same care staff and nursing team (ie no staff turnover) - continuity is very important for the residents and was important for us as a family. We owe the staff at 'The Mallard' a massive thank you.

Very professionally run by very caring people. All the staff are very attentive to the residents and their visiting family. There is a happy and friendly atmosphere throughout all parts of the home which is well kept.

Since Dad has been a resident in the home, I have found all the staff to be extremely helpful and courteous. Dad has not had any concerns that he has told me. His medication is given on time, which is extremely important as he lives with Parkinsons Disease.
Very homely home.

I am very pleased with my mother in law's care at this home.
However I do feel that more staff are needed as the staff you have are really good, they never seem to have any time to talk and are called away if they do. Also waiting to be let in and out can take time and I have to go and find someone
for this.

Currently, I feel activities are poor since two of the activity staff left.
Also, management have still not dealt with the gazebo at Mallard so residents cannot sit outside. Kingfisher have a permanent one, also complained still not dealt with regarding fan in lounge only one out of the three bulbs
ever seems to work.

Care home is well run, with friendly and understanding staff. My mother says she is happy there and enjoys the recreational activities. It is not usually possible to speak to a resident using the switchboard as the option usually rings out but holding for the admin staff does get you through most times.
I
have been able to take my mother out of the home for a short expedition and the staff were very helpful in getting her prepared.
Clothes do seem to go missing during cleaning rather frequently (despite being well labelled), however, usually they turn up again.
Staff always get in touch promptly if there are any issues with my mother's well being. The care home manager attends my mother's reviews by the local authority, which removes a lot of the ambiguity of these visits. Generally, I am very pleased with the choice of care home for my mother. It gives me a lot of peace of mind to know she is well cared for.

We saw such an improvement in my relatives health and well-being while at the home. His walking improved and a close attention to diet improved his weight to a healthier level. All credit to the management and team of carers and nurses who have helped him in his on going recovery from hospitalisation.

My husband has been at Hatfield Peverel Lodge for a few months now.
He has settled in very well, mainly due to the fantastic support he gets from the staff and he is encouraged to join in activities which he tries to do.

Our Dad was a resident of Hatfield Peverel care home for over 3 years.
During this time we were struck by the dedication, care and friendliness of all the staff.
They knew our father and his needs and interests which meant a lot.

Mum has been at the Lodge for 5 years. She arrived with Alzheimers which of course, caused a steady decline up to her death in January 2017. The room had a view over open countryside. It was comfortable and well-decorated. The staff were fantastic. Their care and compassion were second to none. Entertainment
was regularly put on for residents and my mum really enjoyed the singing eg. Irish songs. Mum was always washed and dressed nicely. This took place about 2 years ago when mum could no longer do these things. The grounds are lovely and well kept and mum liked being taken for walks when she was able. On her death, several of the staff cried - says everything.

I was offered respite over Christmas at Hatfield Peverel due to isolation and loneliness. I had the best Christmas ever!! I was cared for very well. I made many friends and had many people talk to the staff made sure I was involved in all activities and entertainments. There was so much to do everyday.
