Hutton Village has well trained, experienced staff who strive to provide a high standard of residential and nursing care, convalescence, palliative care and respite. Round the clock care and support are delivered with a warm and compassionate approach promoting the dignity, respect and independence of each individual at all times.

They’re here when you and your loved ones need them most. For planned respite or last- minute trips. A safe space to recover after an operation. To experience what their home’s like before moving long- term. To just relax. Whatever the reason, their doors are open.

Originally the village school, the home is decorated to a high standard and is homely and comfortable. There is a lovely garden with lots of sunny and shady places to sit and enjoy, including a pond and a sensory garden. There is a number of choices of bedrooms, all are ensuite, and many enjoy views of the garden and surrounding countryside. The rooms are fully equipped, however, residents are encouraged to bring their own personal possessions if they choose, to ensure they feel at home.

The in-house chef provides nutritionally balanced meals for residents and always offers both a cold and hot option at each mealtime. Residents can enjoy a variety of snacks and cakes throughout their day. The team are happy to discuss individual dietary requirements and preferences.

They have a well-developed programme of activities led by activities coordinators, and there are regular entertainers such as musicians, visits from Pet Therapy dogs, a monthly church service, quizzes, games, films and individually tailored sessions.

The care home was clean and welcoming.
The staff were friendly and professional. They interacted with residents with care and respect.
The activity that I saw was well-organised and inclusive. Fun was had by those attending that particular activity.

We have been exceptionally pleased with the care and in particular the friendliness of the staff.
The facilities are first class and it feels like a well-run hotel rather than an elderly care home.
The gardens are beautiful with the pavilion making an ideal setting for extended family visits.

We were not happy with the lack of effort around getting Mum established in the critical first week when we would have thought that better efforts would have been made to ensure that everything regarding her requirements, which we had laid out in detail to the management, was adequately transmitted
to the nursing/care staff, but was not. We feel that the management made claims about the level of care and attention that Mum would receive that in practice did not happen. We removed Mum after a fortnight in the home.

My dad spent almost a year at Hutton Village and I can honestly say I have been extremely pleased with all aspects of his care. I know that carers talked to him about his life when they could as he was bedbound and the food was really good, nothing was too much trouble. When you move someone into a
care home you want to know they will be well looked after and cared for in a dignified way. I am very satisfied that during his stay all his care needs were met.

A recent initial visit and subsequent visits convinced us to move our friend into this care home. We were very impressed with the home. I cannot thank Hutton Village Care home enough for the love and care given to my aunt over the last four years. They became part of her family. Auntie passed away on 23rd November 2022 aged 100 and the care given to my aunt and myself before and after passing was paramount. I cannot thank them enough.

My partner has been under their care since July and is still currently residing there.
The staff have been absolutely brilliant. I am so pleased that he is in a facility where the care is exceptional, and I always feel comfortable visiting him.

We knew my Father was likely to be in Hutton Village Care Home for just a short time but the care he received during this period and his final days was nothing short of exceptional. The nurses, carers and auxiliary staff gave him all the care and attention he needed and more. As a family, we found the
staff were also extremely supportive towards us during what was an upsetting and distressing time. We cannot recommend this home and its incredible people more highly to care for your loved ones, no matter how difficult the situation.

I have been happy here - but two years of lockdown no visitors etc, and sheer supplied and deafness have been very hard to bear. The whole staff have been wonderfully loyal and caring. Making an effort within the rules to celebrate my 100.

This has been a difficult time for us all, but staffing levels are now improving, and the home does have many staff who have been with the home for some years. Activities which have taken place should now be able to and have started to increase. My mother, who is not the easiest person to cope with
when it comes to her personal care, is always treated with kindness and respect. All the staff I find are very helpful.

A caring, clean and well-run care home with beautiful grounds and amazing staff who really are the jewel in the crown of this establishment. With two and a half years of challenges, they have managed to overcome them all and even when visiting was not possible the relatives of the residents were secure
in the knowledge that their relatives were receiving the very best of care.

The home has done incredibly well to weather the last two years of the pandemic in such a good way. It's not been easy for anyone, but I never heard any staff complaining, and everyone pitched in when needed to. Contrary to other reviews I felt we were kept fairly well appraised of the changes in rules,
yes perhaps it wasn't always as clear as it could have been, but the rules were coming from central government not from the home management. Residents were protected by being restricted to their rooms, and as a consequence outbreaks were small, contained and not fatal to residents (sadly one carer did die at the start of the pandemic). Some things at times weren't perfect, but if you have staff off self-isolating so they don't infect the residents, temps are required and at times, they didn't hit quite the same high standards the permanent staff have within the home. Things are definitely on the up now, and Dad is happier.

My mum has been in the home for near 3 years now. It was a great place to be and she was very very happy there, then along came Covid.
The home has done well to keep residents safe during this time but at a cost to the quality of life for residents and relatives.
The home has not kept relatives
and residents up-to-date with constant rule changes, residents have been confined to their rooms when covid outbreaks occur and visits stopped. The home did away with their pod visits when it would have been helpful to have kept it.
The whole episode has led to mum feeling low, bored, confused and frustrated. This has led to myself and my sister having a more stressed relationship with the home management that has struggled in my opinion to deal with the situation.
It’s clear from what we understand from mum and communication with the home that staff shortages exist and this compounds the difficulties. However I do not have any sympathy for BUPA on this, they make a millions £.

Our elderly mum recently needed another spell of respite at this excellent facility. Once again, the entire team were understanding, responsive and very welcoming. Unfortunately, due to the Covid isolation period, I was unable to visit, but I cannot praise the team highly enough for their professionalism
whenever I made contact with them. Having received the rest and support she needed, Mum is back in her own home. Thank you all.

My mother was in the home for four months until she passed and while she was there the staff could not do enough for my mother. They were kind and compassionate. Also, the girls on the reception were always very helpful and were able to answer any questions. It was a difficult time because of Covid
but I was able to visit her in her room. Thank you all so much.

I am 98 and have been in this home for three years. I have been happy here, with such a well kept home, good room and wonderful, large gardens. All the staff are very efficient and caring. Lockdown has meant drastic curtailing of activities but great efforts have been made to keep us going in spite
of no visitors or entertainers and other restrictions. We try to keep cheerful and hopeful but miss our family and friends.
