There are not enough thank you’s that I could say/type for the work and efforts of the team at Barchester Paternoster House Care Home.


The carers are wonderful, the manager is helpful and efficient and the activities team are exceptional.


The activities mnager goes above and beyond for every

resident and their family, always trying to ensure residents have the best possible experiences they can. She is a credit to Barchester!

I have been coming to the home weekly to visit my gran for over a year, and I have always had the warmest of welcomes. Everyone is so kind and caring, and everybody knows my gran! She is so happy there, and I wouldn’t want her anywhere else. Everyone is so friendly, all the residents too, and it feels
like a home from home - like I’m going to my gran's house. Thank you all so much for everything that you do.

When I walked in to see my grandad, the staff welcomed me, they are very professional. The care home has a very homely feeling. We were offered tea, coffee etc. and said we can help ourselves. The home is very clean and today. My grandad really enjoys the home and the company with staff and residents.

Driving into the premises I noticed how neat it was, plenty of parking space. We were greeted at reception and shown the way to a lovely room. Good aspects and light. Overall, everywhere was neat, clean and tidy and had a good atmosphere. The staff were above and beyond, very friendly and nothing was
too much trouble. We both thoroughly enjoyed the birthday party. Compliments to all.

We came from a distance to visit our friend who was celebrating his 95th birthday! We were very impressed by the friendliness of all the staff also the beautiful bedroom and cleanliness in all areas. We were delighted with my friend's appearance.

Nanny has been living and in the care of Paternoster House for over half a year now! On regular visits, I'm always so pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and supportive staff always on shift. Since my nan has been in your care, she looks healthier and is generally in better care. You guys are making sure she's eating properly and her sugar is okay. She doesn't seem lonely anymore and gets involved in the activities.

Paternoster House Care Home meets all the needs in taking care of my mother. I’m so happy I made the right choice to bring her there.
Mum is very happy there, we speak daily over the phone if I can’t go to see her, the staff are excellent and they keep me updated on Mum's meds, her diet intake etc.
Couldn’t ask for more. I highly recommend it.

Following 2 weeks of respite, Mum has decided to remain as a resident stating "I feel at home here and feel very comfortable". Staff are very welcoming and willing to answer any questions. My measure of a good care home is whether I feel confident leaving my loved one in their care at Paternoster House,
I certainly have no worries at all.

My first impression was exceptionally clean, welcoming staff, always with a smile on their faces. After 4 weeks my opinion has not changed. My wife's birthday was recently and I asked if it was possible to have a few friends come over to see her, they agreed and offered to put on a spread (with birthday
cake) which the chef needs to be praised. The attentiveness of staff served and made sure all the guests including the children had food, with all this in mind this is why I can give the home a 5* rating and have peace of mind that my wife is being looked after better than I could provide at home.

My sister come here two weeks ago and I'm so happy with all the care of the staff, they all seem so caring. I only live a few minutes away so I can visit her more a less every day. My dad was in here for three years I had no complaints, at the moment my sister seems happy which I'm happy about. She
was so unhappy in the hospitals she was in, so it's nice to see her smile in a long while.

On arrival, we were all greeted and made to feel welcome. The staff are absolutely amazing; they go above and beyond to help families and residents. Every day you are greeted with a smile. It is a very friendly atmosphere and very clean every day. I'm very pleased with my mum's care she is being given
and how in a short space of time, she has settled in really well.

My wife has MND and has been a resident here since May 2022. All the staff we've met have been very friendly and have treated us with care, respect, dignity and understanding. My wife's care both personal and medical has been excellent. I was apprehensive about her going into a nursing home, however,
she is receiving better care than I could give her at home.
My one criticism would be that her room and its facilities need a bit of TLC or upgrading, the cleanliness of the room is not a problem and the housekeeping staff do a very good job.

Paternoster looked after my father-in-law for a couple of weeks on respite. He was made to feel extremely welcomed and was treated respectfully. His care was really considerate, and he was well looked after. The food was very good, and attention to all his needs was very evident. He had a bad experience
in a previous respite and was extremely worried about his stay, but was full of praise when I picked him up.

My team and I take great pride in providing wonderful care to all our residents. I am a qualified General Nurse, I also have a master's degree in Business Administration in Health and Social Care which has given me the knowledge and direction to be effective in my job role.


As the General Manager I lead the team to provide care in a holistic approach to our residents. We involve families in all our decision-making and are always looking for ways to improve. The most important part of my job is to provide meaning to people's lives and understand and nurture them.


I take pride in championing others to be the best they can be in their job role. Working in partnership with residents, families and professionals are my core values.  A whole team approach to individual care is at the heart of Paternoster House and my door is always open.
