Dad came to St Peter's Court for rehabilitation after a period of time in hospital. The home is clean, light, well decorated, safe, secure and welcoming. The staff have all shown dad care, consideration and patience. They engage well with him and have built up a good relationship. They took him out
during December, with my consent and the nurses have been attentive to his needs and look after him. The food is good and dad has gained weight. Staff engage well when we visit and share information/updates.

When Dad was accepted to move to St Peter's Court, from another care home, it was such a relief to discover what an amazing home they are. The home is well-managed, bright, clean and welcoming. All the staff are lovely and so kind and supportive to both Dad and myself. They are very responsive to his
needs and Dad is treated with dignity and respect in a caring and gentle way.
On the first arrival at the home, Dad's own words were: "This is a change for the better".
I am so pleased and grateful for the care and management Dad receives at St Peter's. It is a wonderful home and I thoroughly recommend it.

St Peter's Court has provided my mother with excellent care, meeting her needs and supplying frequent activities. Unfortunately, other care homes have failed to fulfil my mother's care needs in the past but St Peters has met her needs and the staff are always cheerful and available. Highly recommended.

My husband was admitted to St Peter’s Court in March 2023, following a two week stay in hospital. He needed full time care, having fractured his knee. He had poor mobility before this happened and he suffers with vascular dementia and incontinence. On admission, he was receiving one to one care day
and night. This was gradually stopped and it was concerning because of the risk of falls. It took a while for us to understand how it all worked in the home, but the staff have always been kind and friendly and made us feel welcome and keep us informed. Their care for my husband is exemplary and he has settled down really well and has built up a good relationship with them all. I know he is well fed and enjoys all the nice meals prepared by the kitchen staff. The home is spotless and he is always kept clean and tidy. It was hard to relinquish my role as his carer, but I am confident he is happy and receiving the best attention and I am comfortable with the visiting arrangements.

Dad stayed at the home in July 2023. We felt Dad was being neglected and his health was deteriorating rapidly so pushed for him to be moved. Dad has dementia, making him vulnerable and is unable to communicate his needs, so needed his family to be his voice, even though the manager told us to only call
once per week to check up on Dad. Shocking.
We continually asked that Dad see a doctor. We then asked for a UTI test to be carried out, again it took days to be actioned. We asked to be part of Dad's first 2 week 1-2-1 assessment. This never happened, this was removed and he immediately had a fall. We asked for routine blood tests, again this never got organised. We were also concerned about the lack of fluids Dad was drinking.
When he arrived at the new home they showered Dad due to faeces and gave Dad a shave. He had a sore groin, sore eyes, and sores on his toes. They were surprised by Dad's poor condition and loss of weight as they had seen him prior to going to St Peter’s.

We take all feedback seriously and your comments have been thoroughly investigated by our management team, although we do not have a record of any formal complaints made by yourself from the four occasions that you visited the home, we did identify that you made a comment in our comments book stating that the staff are very caring and that the manager is very helpful as is the nurse. We believe this contradicts your comment above. Despite this, we did look into your comments stated. We are well known for providing excellent 1:1 care and we always strive to provide an outstanding quality of care which is recognised by our other reviews.

My dear mother was with St Peter's for less than one month due to Mum's terminal condition.
The care, kindness and help Mum got was really lovely.
Nurses and assistants were always helpful, and if there could not help, they would find someone senior that could help, both my mum and myself. The nursing
and reception staff were always polite and listened to and tried to help us.
The nursing staff were both really friendly and helpful.
I really appreciated one nurse, who spoke to one of my brothers. She knew my dear mym did not have long to go and suggested getting the funeral directors sorted out before my sweet mum's really sad passing. It was so helpful. We did as she suggested, and it was all in place and did not need any of us when we were at our lowest.
I am also really grateful to the palliative nurses who helped my two brothers.
Also, I am truly grateful to the night nurses and assistance that on my lovely mums' passing, washed, put a clean nightdress on Mum and stayed until the funeral directors arrived to take me dearly loved mum.
Thank you.

I’ve got my brother in Saint Peter's Court. I do not find it very hygienic. You do a Covid test but should be put straight in the bin but they are lying on the table in the reception area which I told them about. Also, I found my brother's room wasn’t very clean. I found a T-shirt screwed up in the
back of his drawer or torn, no one knew anything about it, strange. In the coffee room you are going in, there is so much stuff in there, there was a barbecue. If there was a fire there is no way out. Now also I thought when you talk to someone it is confidential, with the carers repeating some of the things are used to talk to my brother, and some of them are not true. There are rules for them and not for you. I have not seen my brother since last August because they have told his partner I am stressing out which is a lie, he is the only relative I’ve got and the toilets in there are always dirty which I’ve told them about, I would not put my worst enemy in there. The manager is very rude.

We take all feedback seriously and your comments have been thoroughly investigated by our management team, although we do not have a record of any formal complaints made by yourself from when you last visited the home which was over a year ago. You have not been able to visit your relative due to a family matter where the essential caregiver and power of attorney decided it was in the residents best interest for you to not visit, this matter is not a reflection on our home as we did not make the decision to stop your visits. On investigating your comments, we can confirm the fire escape has always been free from obstructions and the tea room you refer to only contains tables, chairs and kitchen facilities for residents to enjoy with their loved ones. We have been praised by many external bodies and visitors on the cleanliness of our home. We strive to provide an outstanding quality of care which is recognised by our other reviews.

Our beloved Mum came here for the last two days of her life from the hospital. We couldn't have wished for a better environment/nursing care. From the first contact with the caring staff, I was content. Mum was being looked after with the utmost dignity and care. Not just amazing staff, but also building
bright, airy, modern and homely. Thank you for your support at a very difficult time. Food/drink/activities, not experienced.

Dad was really well looked after at St Peter's Court. The facilities were fantastic, and the staff were extremely polite, helpful and focused on Dad's needs.
From the family's point of view, everyone was engaging and made us all feel Dad has a new home. One lady was a ray of sunshine from the first
meeting.

My mother has been a resident of this small home for almost three years. It is in a pleasant location with recently landscaped gardens. Every part of the home is always spotless and well-maintained. The staff include registered nurses. Everyone is friendly, courteous and helpful. Should there be even
the slightest mishap (e.g., a fall, cut, upset stomach), I am immediately telephoned. From the outset, it has been clear that Mum is meticulously and kindly cared for, including personal hygiene, clothing, activities, diet and medication. I have no hesitation in recommending St Peter's.

This home is very person-centred focus. The staff demonstrated a good understanding of improving the everyday life needs of individual residents. They provide a full and varied activities programme for their residents. The staff demonstrated how they value each resident with dignity, compassion, and

My father has been in St Peter's since March 2021. Right from day one, the staff have all been amazing; it gives me peace of mind that he is being looked after by caring staff.
The purpose-built facilities are excellent. The range of activities offered is excellent; Dad is really enjoying the different
activities.
The monthly newsletters that have started over the last few months are excellent, giving all the information you require. I don't think I could find a better home for Dad.
So a massive thank you to all the staff at St Peter's for caring for and looking after my dad.

Thank you to the amazing team at St Peter's for your stellar care of my auntie. As a family member living miles away, you all were so great about keeping me up to date on any issues that arose. I found it so easy to connect with the staff and get daily updates on my auntie. Plus, it was never a problem
for me to talk with my auntie. It was obvious that the team genuinely care about the residents. Thank you all so much for all your care of my auntie whilst she was at St Peter's.

The date is rather old as I cannot review the home later than that, as I am not allowed in, and there have been an awful lot of changes. The home is lovely, and the care is good, but I would like to be kept in the loop more. We never get told anything that is happening with our loves ones unless they
are ill.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.719)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.719) out of 10 for St Peter's Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.019 for St Peter's Court is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.019

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Peter's Court is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
