Windle Court is located in a quiet residential area of South Woodham Ferrers. Once inside this purpose built home the conservatory offers the views of the raised flower beds, whilst most of the rooms look out onto lawned areas. There is also a smaller unit, Jasmine Lodge, set in the grounds.

Rooms are all en-suite with wall-mounted TV's as standard, but it is your choice how your room is set and which of those precious items you wish to bring. It is only then the transformation is complete and this home is then your home.

Outstanding staff who really care about my mum. They go over and above to give my mum happiness. The place is beautiful with pristine cleanliness. The room is absolutely lovely. There isn’t anything I could fault and my mum couldn’t be in a better home. Love Windle Court and thank everyone involved

Cannot praise enough the care provided in this warm and friendly care home. My father in law has lived here for the past 18 months, the result of which is that he is the happiest he has been since his wife's death 7 years ago.
All staff are truly dedicated and do all they can to ensure the residents
(and families) receive a home from home experience. Communication with families is very good as is the support provided by the local medical centre.

The care that has been given to my mother since her moving in during December 2022 and since. Has been outstanding. My mother was widowed at the end of May 2022 and it has badly affected her mental health, she became very depressed and isolated. My mother has always been a happy lady, who liked to socialise.
Between my sister and myself, we felt it was best to find a nursing home that could offer my mum care and support to help her heal within herself. The staff and activities that take place at the home, came across as excellent, just what my mother needed.
My mother has improved so much, she is socialising with the other residents and gets on very well with the staff. She is happy in herself. She may have some days where she is a little down, but the staff, truly care and are always looking out for my mum. Her health is being well looked after as she does have some health issues. The staff, go out of their way to make the home happy and always keep myself and my sister informed.

The home has a can-do attitude, everything I asked for was made possible. The staff were all friendly, kind and caring. Mum was only in the home for six weeks, we knew when she went in it wouldn't be long. I'm grateful I chose this home.

Mum came to live permanently at Windle Court in December 2021, after my father-in-law passed. She has dementia and is 97 years old. She is very well cared for. The staff are all very kind to her and anyone who visits. She is well-fed and always clean. Most of all she is happy and we couldn't ask for
anymore.

Everyone at the care home gives my mum exceptional care. She absolutely loves it here and says everyone is really kind. We have had no problems arise at all since Mum came in April. I feel happy knowing she is well looked after.

When Nan arrived, the staff were so lovely, it was a difficult transition made a lot easier by the whole team! She has a much better quality of life and I can see her getting her personality back with each visit. The staff are so genuinely caring towards everyone. I couldn't think of a nicer place for
my nan to live now that she's in this phase of her life.

When my mum first arrived there were many problems with several things e.g. hearing aid batteries not changed so Mum had no hearing and they never noticed. We have since had discussions and things have improved a lot. My mum's dementia needs lots of watching and answering for her needs. Her stimulation
from activities is important. At first, that need was not seen to but now has also improved and she is, and we are, so much happier.

My mother has been a resident since 2015 and the care is second to none. I would recommend Windle Court to anyone needing a safe and caring place for their dependent to reside. All the staff look after Mum as if she is their own relative. They keep me informed of any changes to her needs and she is
very happy here.

Staff are always friendly and ready to help. Occasionally they are very busy working with other residents but if I need to speak to someone urgently they will make themselves available as soon as possible. Any concerns I have, have always been responded to by management and dealt with efficiently. Mum
is always well presented and well cared for. She is happy here and enjoys sitting in the lounge with other residents. Sadly with many activities, she doesn't want to join in unless it's singing!

I am very pleased with the professional standards consistently maintained. The staff are all committed, caring and capable. My only concern is the problem faced by the laundry trying to return clothing to the correct resident when many residents do not properly label their belongings, as a result even
properly labelled items are delivered to the wrong rooms.

My mum has recently become a resident at Windle Court, she went through a lot of pain, hospital treatments and visits plus leaving her own home after many years. The care staff at Windle Court have been nothing but kind to her and have tried to accommodate all her requirements and needs. It makes me
happy that she is enjoying her time there and now she has folks to chat with, activities and is much brighter in herself. Strangely, since she went into Windle Court she has had no trouble with Irritable Bowel Syndrome that she had had for years and I'm sure it's because her stress and worries have been taken away, thank you Windle Court.

Overall I have been really pleased with the care given to my husband, and but for the safeguarding issues with his aggression over the last couple of months. I wouldn't remove him by choice, he is currently in hospital awaiting a move to a place more suitable for his needs now.
The staff have been
exceptional in the months he has been at Windle Court, and are all sorry he can't stay, as am I.

A lovely, friendly home from home at Windle Court. My aunt came for a short stay and loved it so much she became a resident. Windle Court is very welcoming and takes great care of my aunt. There's lots of activities, fantastic care and lovely friendly caring staff. Our family s very happy to know that
aunt is settled here and happy. She especially loves her afternoon tea and cake.

Windle Court is an extremely caring environment. Spotlessly clean, light and airy with tasteful decor. The staff I met were very friendly and professional. My aunt has dementia and says she likes it very much and thinks the staff are ‘lovely’. The atmosphere is very peaceful.

Hello, my name is Lorraine, and I am the home manager at Windle Court Residential Home based in South Woodham Ferrers.


I have been the home manager since December 2020 at Windle Court and worked for Runwood Homes since 2009.


Windle Court is a 76-bed purpose-built residential home providing 26 rooms on our poppy suite on the ground floor and 36 rooms on our sunflower suite on the first floor. We also have Jasmine which is a purpose-built senior living private suite suitable for independent or for those who require minimal care.


All rooms have ensuite facilities, all suites have their lounges, dining areas and communal facilities. We provide a hairdressing, chiropody and newspaper service and a full activities calendar which includes, weekly cooking, arts & crafts, live entertainment, and minibus trips, just to mention a few. We have a lovely café which is very popular with residents and visitors we also have outdoor space to accommodate summer BBQs, gardening club and fetes when the weather permits.


Windle Court has a cinema room, which is very popular with the residents; this allows them to relax with a glass of wine and a good movie.

I am the Deputy Manager at Windle Court. I have worked here for the past 10 years, i first started in the home as a carer and have progressed to become the Deputy manager in the last year which was always my ambition.


I am kind, and caring and provide support to the staff, residents, families and visitors. I am a champion in the home for manual handling, end-of-life, medication and health and safety.


I have achieved my NVQ level 3 in health and social care and currently working towards achieving my level 4.

Hi, I'm Kerry I am the financial administrator for Windle Court. I have been here for over 4 years and I look after all aspects of administrative responsibilities along with looking after all the staff.


I am responsible for all onboarding of new staff to ensure all documentation is legislative and CQC compliant. I am also the home's training champion my role is to help drive staff to ensure all Runwood mandatory training is up to date. I also encourage staff to voluntary participate in additional training to help them progress in their role.
