Overall Experience

Thank you for looking after my mother and keeping her safe for nearly a year with End-stage vascular dementia. I could not have asked for more and although she never wanted to be in a care facility, I know she was safer than being at her home. It was a great comfort to me.

Overall Experience

Brooklands care home. The staff have been wonderful! As 24/7 one-to-one care is needed. I visit each day, warmly welcomed by all. The care is a credit. The food is looked forward to, something I didn’t think was possible anymore. I can’t say how pleased I am knowing that the remaining time is comfortable.

Overall Experience

First appearances the build is tired and the room needs updating, however, these things are inconsequential when compares to the staff and levels of care is the things that matter. From the welcome at reception, through to the carers and nurses, all the staff are amazing. Their interactions with residents

are caring and compassionate. They treat people with dignity right up to their last breath. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Brooklands.

My mum is very well cared for, staff are very helpful and friendly, always willing to help.
My mum's room is very clean and comfortable, I always find communication by telephone is very good.

Overall Experience

Fantastic staff, all very friendly and helpful. They took the time to find out about her background and engaged with her as much as possible. They really looked after our mum and made her last few days as comfortable as possible. Would not hesitate to recommend it.

Overall Experience

My mother came to Brooklands in the last few weeks of her life from hospital although we did not know at the time, she arrived after I dropped her belongings off and I was greeted warmly. She had to isolate for 2 weeks but after 9 days she deteriorated rapidly and we were allowed in. The staff were

friendly and couldn't do enough. The nursing staff were working flat out but constantly reassured and comforted both myself and my wife. When my mother passed they were sympathetic and professional. Thank you.

Brooklands is a lovely care home. I know my dad is well looked after. The residents are well fed and kept clean and tidy.
I can't tick value for money, as I believe that care homes should be free for dementia patients.

Overall Experience

My Mum absolutely loved her time here. She was treated with respect and dignity by all the staff and carers. She told me she loved the food there, it is homecooked and not bought in like some other places. There is always music playing and plenty of activity and entertainment. It has a very warm and

homely feel there and visitors are always made welcome. I cannot praise this home highly enough and since leaving Brooklands Mum has been back to visit friends she made in there and she also wants to move back there herself very soon.

Overall Experience

Mum was cared for in Brooklands between November 2019 and January 2020. The carers always took an interest in Mum and genuinely seemed to know her little idiosyncrasies. They were always friendly and helpful to visiting family members which made Mum's last few months easier to deal with.

Overall Experience

As the carer for an elderly gentleman and his wife, when it came to end of life care Brooklands and its kind caring staff surpassed itself. This nursing home does not deserve the atrocious CQC label of Requires Improvement. The nursing home moved heaven and earth to accept the gentleman from hospital

and his every need was met, with care and dignity and understanding for his family and friends. If he didn’t wish to eat at mealtimes the food was kept hot until he did want to eat. He was given the utmost time and ourselves and his wife were met with true compassion. To read the CQC report you would fear for a loved one going in there, but please see past the very wrong judgment of the CQC and visit Brooklands for your loved one's end of life needs. The staff give the residents time, they don’t rush them, and they listen to their life history, they make them feel worthy. Some staff have been there for many years that must speak volumes for the employer.

Overall Experience

Overall my father received good, kind and compassionate care. The home was a real community that also provided support to my mother and all the family for the three and a half years that my father was a resident.

Overall Experience

My mother was only in Brooklands for three weeks before she sadly passed away. During that time I visited frequently and only observed kindness and compassion extended to all the residents by carers, nurses and management. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and support the residents.
