Uplands Rehabilitation Centre in Westcliff-on-Sea is an innovative, unique and state of the art 17 bed facility providing short stay, therapy led rehabilitation and reablement services.

The centre provides comprehensive assessment, rehabilitation and therapy services for male and female adults. Throughout their stay, patients are encouraged to make individual choices about all aspects of life at the centre and to be as independent as possible.

In addition to nurses and rehabilitation assistants, the centre employs a physiotherapist, occupational health therapist, speech and language therapist and psychologist.

The centre’s main objectives is to train people and equip them with the necessary skills to return to independent living following a stroke, brain injury or other complex conditions.

Excellent service and care. Made to feel like part of a family and is more like a hotel than a rehab home. Staff helpful, respectful and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. They have given me back my strength and more mobility. The physio is outstanding.

The staff were always very polite and caring, they treated my mum with respect and dignity - the care was excellent. They had time to chat and talk to me about any concerns I had. The room was very clean and well looked after. I was apprehensive at first, but it was a very positive and happy experience
for me.

I am generally very pleased with the accommodation. The staff are very polite and helpful although some are inexperienced.
the main thing I would change is the quality of the cooking. The food is ok but poorly cooked. There has also been trouble with the central heating which has led to me being cold
on a few occasions.

My experience was extremely positive. The staff were very patient and kind and helped me to get back on my feet after a fall. They were always happy to help and nothing was too much trouble. I honestly wish that I could stay here.

My daughter was pleased in Uplands from Southend University Hospital. A right leg amputee was very traumatising and disturbing. The staff have been excellent and with all the care they are giving her she is making great progress. Her father and I would like to give them all a very big thank you.

Sifiso is the Registered Manager at Uplands and oversees the day to day running of the company. She has worked at Uplands for many years as a Staff Nurse and Clinical Lead before her promotion to Registered Manager.
