Abbey House is set in beautiful grounds adjacent to Netley Abbey, against a backdrop of ancient woodland. The home is set within easy walking distance to Southampton Water and Netley Victoria Country Park. The period building and spacious grounds provide residents with the atmosphere and tranquillity of a country home.

Abbey House is a care home with nursing accommodation, offering a secure, relaxed and homely environment for both long and short stays. Care is provided to a standard of excellence which embraces the fundamental principles of good practice. Staff are responsive to individual needs and provide the appropriate degree of care to assure the highest possible quality of life within the home.

The home offers a range of accommodation options in en-suite, single, companion and garden view rooms, which are set over three floors and are accessible by three passenger lifts. The home also benefits from three lounges, an additional sun lounge and an elegant dining room.

All bedrooms are decorated to a high standard and have a nurse call point. Residents are encouraged to bring in their own furniture if they wish, as well as personal effects, to create a home-from-home.

I came here following a three week stay in hospital. I did not feel at all well initially but the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Everyone wanted to make my stay as good as possible. The food served here is very good indeed. The room lacked a TV at first but a new one was ordered
and installed as soon as possible. Management staff were helpful to family members. I have no issues.

My husband was transferred here from the hospital and when I heard of it I was not in favour as it's about 35 miles from our home. When my daughter and I arrived we were asked to see my husband in the pod, which was a room that was quite cold and quite bleak. Once we were allowed to go into his room
that was a great improvement. The staff were very helpful and kept me informed about my husband's progress which I appreciated living so far away. Altogether it was a much easier experience than I had expected. All thanks to the staff.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was warm, tidy and clean and Mum was getting looked after very well. The staff were often coming in to offer cups of tea and today she had a scone with jam and cream! She has enjoyed the company and the food. During a 2 week stay, for rehab after
a hospital, she has recovered very well; the visiting physios and occupational therapists have been good too. A manager gave visitors a warm welcome and we were happy they are still very careful with infection control. We felt it was a safe environment.

Abbey House exemplifies everything that an outstanding care home should be. My mother never wanted to be in a care home, but absolutely loves it. She raves about all the staff and how kind they are. Nothing is too much trouble. They have got to know her as a person and involve relatives and make them
feel part of the home and work in partnership to provide ultimate personalised care. The food, staff, entertainment and all-round provision is superb. The fact that staff say they love their job says it all. It is a very special place.

Mum moved into Abbey House in 2018 after a serious ankle injury. From that time until her demise in early 2023 I have nothing but admiration for every one of the staff, Mum was treated as part of a very caring family and was given not only excellent medical and personal care but was treated with love
and dignity throughout her stay. I was always kept informed of any changes necessary in Mum's care and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

When we needed to find a care home for our father during the Covid lockdown, we spoke to Abbey House because he had been there for respite care twice before and we thought the location and the staff were good. My dad originally lived in a respite room for just over a week before moving into his own
room. He was always adamant that he never wanted to go into a care home and it took a while for him to settle in. He has been there for two years now and has settled in very well. He has made some friends there, the staff are lovely and we feel our dad is well looked after. It is now his home. He even joins in with the entertainment when he can. Although we never had the opportunity to look at other care homes, we are very pleased with Abbey House and feel quite lucky that they were able to accept him during a difficult time. It is close to where my father lived, convenient for visits, not too big and in a beautiful setting. I do not think we could have done any better.

My auntie went to Abbey House initially for rehab and then became a permanent resident. The care and kindness she received were excellent. The staff always did their best and the home was spotless. During the summer months, the garden was an added bonus to be able to sit out for visits. Thank you to

Assistance by the carers was excellent. (Day carers.) Night carers were agency and not always so obliging. Night nurses were excellent. The service given by cleaning staff, tea/coffee services, etc was excellent. Maintenance staff very friendly and obliging.

My father was adamant he wasn't going into a nursing home. Unfortunately no choice. However, I have the comfort of knowing my father was given the utmost care and consideration. The greatest gift to me was to hear him tell me, despite his reservations, he loved it at Abbey House. He loved the staff
and they loved him. So lucky to have found such a gem of a place and lovely staff. Can't recommend enough based on our family's experience. Wonderful.

Moving from hospital to rehab was such a transition, really didn't know what to expect. So many of the staff to say thank you to for getting me mobilised and ready to go home. The care and compassion shown while I've been here has been outstanding. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

When my mum needed to go into, the only place I felt comfortable with was Abbey House. I have known about the type of care they provide through my own line of work and this felt like the right decision.
All of the staff have made my mum feel very welcome and relaxed. This brings much comfort and peace
