My dad has been a resident of Gracewell’s Camberley since Autumn 2019. He has vascular dementia which is progressing and had been living in his own bungalow before he moved to Gracewell’s.
The care and attention he has been given since he became a resident has been excellent. The nursing, carer and
support team are amazing and keep in close contact with me.
They’ve worked hard to gain Dad’s trust and when I visit or Facetime him I can see that he’s comfortable and relaxed and is being given high-quality food and the best of professional care.
Amazingly, they’ve kept Covid-free during these difficult months. Well done team!
My dad is very important to me and knowing that he’s safe and is living in an environment that is reminiscent of a luxury hotel means that I know that I’m making the right decisions for him.

When I first visited Gracewell of Camberley, I was unsure. I felt it was too big and therefore impersonal for my father. How wrong I was! He moved in just before Christmas 2018, he has been made to feel so welcome by all staff. The care he receives is second to none. My reservations about it being
too big were completely wrong.
Alongside his fantastic care he receives, Gracewell also offers great entertainment and activities to keep the residents busy, if they want.
It was a difficult decision to put my father into a care home but I know he is well looked after by a fantastic team of caring, friendly and professional staff.

My mother has been a resident at Gracewell for over 4 years. The staff at Gracewell are caring, conscientious, and thoroughly professional in their day to day tasks with her. She is treated with compassion, dignity and respect and nothing is too much trouble for them, however busy they may be. We are
kept up to date throughout with any issues that may occur and informed of what actions are going to be put in place. It is a great comfort to my family and I, that the care my mother receives is down to the management, nurses and carers who provide such a peaceful , but fun environment.
Furthermore, I would not hesitate if asked, to recommend Gracewell to any potential relatives who were looking for care for a loved one, as they have maintained a very high standard of care on all levels throughout my mothers time there.

My wife has been a resident of the home for over 20-months. She has advanced Alzheimer's and is wheelchair-bound. I have found all the staff caring, friendly and professional in the way they deal with my wife's needs. The rooms are kept clean, tidy and are of a reasonable size. The laundry services
are very good, as are the restaurants, food and services. When you enter the home, you are met by a light, bright reception area. All the management offices are located here, which is ideal. The reception staff are friendly and knowledgeable. All the staff work as a team, which is important. The only gripe is the car park is not really large enough.

The care provided for my father is tailored to his needs and wishes. Changes are needed from time to time and this has been well managed. Both he and I are very happy with the surroundings, the staff and the activities which are laid on. As a family member, I appreciate the freedom to visit at anytime
day or night. All staff get to know and understand the residents and I also appreciate that my father's carers have got to know me too.

My mum has been a resident of Gracewell for three years. The whole time she has been there she has been treated by all the staff with the utmost kindness, dignity and respect. She is very well cared for. Always clean and appropriately dressed with matching jewellery.
Her room and en-suite is always
immaculate and her clothes well laundered. The home itself is beautifully clean and welcoming.
The food is freshly cooked and appetising and there are always plenty of snacks around. There are plenty of activities for the residents as Gracewell have their own activities team. Visitors are always welcome to join in as well. The staff look after all the family as well as my mum. They always phone if there is anything to report. Communication with Gracewell is excellent. My mum is very happy there. It is a very happy place.

I visited my mum who lives in Gracewell of Camberley. I knocked her door gently and entered her room and realised she was in her bathroom with a carer. I didn’t want to disturb them so I sat on a chair quietly to wait and I was fully aware that they didn’t know I was there. I could hear the carer talking
to Mum, obviously trying to encourage her to wash and dress. I was overwhelmed by the compassion that this carer showed to my mum who is in the advanced stages of dementia. I could hear this carer gently encouraging, not rushing, using positive language and even softly singing to her. I was blown away. Yes, all staff without exception are fantastic and patient and always have time to stop for a few minutes to show love and tenderness even though they are so busy but this particular carer in my opinion at that time was exceptional. Thank you so much to all the staff there, especially this carer.

My mum was in Gracewell for 3 months with advanced Dementia. She got upset a lot and didn't know where she was. She could never find her way back to her room, as the corridors were so long, with the lounges right at the end of the corridors, so she was constantly found walking up and down. She soon
became very aggressive which the staff were not able to cope with. She harmed herself as well as others. Due to their policies there, they were unable to give mum any medication that would help to calm her down. She just got worse and worse, which was extremely stressful to watch. Her personal care got less and less because it was almost impossible to do, until one day they asked us to leave. Eventually, we found another home that can look after her and can give her appropriate medication, adjusting it when needed. She is much happier and in a much better place for her level of dementia. I would therefore not recommend Gracewell for anyone with advanced dementia.

Gracewell of Camberley staff are very focused on the wellbeing of all the residents. They are always putting into practice new ideas to keep residents entertained and most importantly seem to be very concerned about the good care of each person. My next of kin is very happy at Gracewell and says he

My mother-in-law spent the last five weeks of her life at Gracewell of Camberley. She was surrounded by compassion and treated with dignity. Everyone that we came into contact with was very friendly, helpful and we couldn't have asked for anything more. My mother-in-law had her final birthday here and
the home did their utmost to make sure that this was celebrated in the way we wished. I cannot praise everyone at the home highly enough as they made us all feel part of an extended family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We selected Gracewell of Camberley for my mother and were very glad that we did. The facilities are excellent, food is superb and the organisation into 'boulevards' is inspired. But all of these matter for nought if the staff are not up to the task. Every member of staff we interacted with here were
exceptional.


Mum felt 'lucky' to be at Gracewell and couldn't say enough about how 'marvellous' everything was whilst she could. From our perspective, it removed the worry and we knew she was well cared for at every stage and content.


The staff treated Mum with dignity and were excellent at communication with us. It was a compassionate, joined up service and she passed well in their care. We could not have wished for better.

Throughout my mother's stay, I have been impressed with the high standard of Gracewell. Whenever I checked with her, mum was always happy with the care she received. The staff at Gracewell of Camberley have been exceptional. My mother died in their care on July 15th and I was both impressed and comforted by their sensitive handling of the situation.


She had been hurt and scared (due to her previous care home experience at another facility) when she came into

the care of Gracewell and it took time to gain her trust - which they did within 3 weeks and I could see her relax and trust them. The care was stellar and we are very grateful to all of the staff.

I earned my Nursing degree in Portugal in 2000 and gained extensive experience working as a staff nurse in both NHS and private hospitals, followed by care homes. After moving to England in 2013, I continued as a Staff Nurse in a care home and transitioned to management in 2014 as a Deputy Manager.


I am passionate about making a positive impact on people’s lives and passing that passion to my residents, their families, and my team at Camberley Woods Care Home. Our home combines exceptional care, wonderful residents, and a welcoming environment, and I take great pride in the work my team and I do to improve the quality of life for our residents.
