The Care Quality Commission (CQC) found The Andover Nursing Home to be 'outstanding' when they made an unannounced inspection in June 2019. The home undergoes virtual inspections annually and has retained its "Outstanding" rating since 2019.

The ethos of the home is founded on teamwork, strong values, inclusion, a sense of openness and the firm belief that residents deserve the very best from the place that is their home.

Every member of the team is committed to person-centred care; a holistic approach which takes into account each resident’s unique qualities, abilities, interests, preferences and needs.

The home is fitted with every modern facility.

The home has exceptionally spacious public rooms, which allows residents to join in communal activities or quietly entertain their families and friends.

Bedrooms have been purpose-built to be spacious and are equipped to provide all the comforts you might require. All bedrooms have their own wet room, television and telephone. Residents are encouraged to bring smaller items of personal furniture or other items of personal importance.

As well as giving opportunities to spend time in different locations, there are gathering places for musical entertainment, parties, talks and other activities.

Convalescing after surgery:- There is a very warm and homely atmosphere at Andover Nursing Home commencing with a friendly welcome at reception which permeates throughout. Commented on by visitors also. I have found all staff kind, caring, respectful and cheerful. To me, a very demanding job is carried
out with much hard work and great dedication. These comments also relate to the five months end of life care for my late Husband in 2017.

All the day and night staff are excellent, very good at their work, nothing is too much trouble and are very caring people.
The nursing staff are professional and carries out their work with kindness and caring. The cleaning staff are always very busy and good workers.
I could not leave my wife in
better hands.

My husband has been in the nursing home for just over a year now. The care he receives is excellent, the staff are very caring and dedicated to their jobs. Myself and my family are made very welcome at all times. There is always the opportunity to talk to the nurses, who are outstanding, and to the
matron/manager of the home. Nothing is too much for the staff to do. As a family, I feel we could not have my husband in a better home. The outstanding CQC award is certainly true.

Management a little dismissive of my opinions and defensive of any suggestions. Overall, despite my Mothers dementia, she appears happy where she is. Carers and nursing staff are very good but volunteers are needed to sit, talk and encourage residents to drink more fluids. The home is always very clean.

In dealing with the home over 7 months, until my Father's recent death, our family experienced the utmost care, and respect from all staff. We looked at a number of homes but focused on which would deliver the best nursing care, not just an expensive room. Our choice of Andover Nursing Home was, we
believe, well judged, as my father received excellent professional and compassionate care from all the nurses and carers, and was treated with great dignity. The demands on these staff are exceptional where dealing with Dementia residents, so realistically the circumstances may not always be perfect, but any concerns were always quickly dealt with, and information requests are taken very seriously including reference to well maintained recorded information. The home has a very positive attitude with residents, through its interpersonal treatment and activities, and is supported by effective leadership. We believe we couldn't have chosen better!

The Andover Nursing Home has looked after my aunt, who is 100 years old, for the past 14 years. Although suffering from dementia, she is looked after with enormous dignity and love. My sister and I visit every week at different times and always receive a lovely welcome from all the staff, both the
administration and care staff. If my aunt is unwell the home are very quickly in touch with us. It is a really happy home and my aunt and we nieces are very lucky to have found it.

My Mother lived in the home for 6 years. I am a nurse working with care homes across Hampshire. The staff gave me confidence that Mum was being cared for in a calm, clean and caring. The ethos is on one big family and I truly felt that the staff cared about my Mother and her family.
If your looking
for a home from home where your loved one will live and not merely exist I would thoroughly recommend Andover Nursing Home. This for me is the best possible home in the area. The care was so good I also moved my great Aunt to the home for end of life care.

Louise is supported by a full team of dedicated qualified nurses.
With many years of nursing experience behind her including Practice and Hospital nursing and with her extensive corporate knowledge Louise has built a strong team around her taking the home forward from strength to strength.
Louise's “striving for excellence” mantra has been inspirational throughout the Home. Living locally in Ludgershall, equestrienne Louise has three children and a passion for her horses Lottie & George and her dogs Bear & Milo.

Hamish Mathews

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hamish enjoys the challenges that come with the responsibility for the building, its equipment, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Staff Training and as the GSF lead for the home.
Having run his own business overseas for 20 years, he returned to Andover and became the main carer for a friend with cancer. This inspired him into a part-time role as a carer at Andover Nursing Home.

Charlotte has been at the home for 15 years. Starting as a care assistant with a desire to study nursing she progressed to Senior carer before starting her nursing studies. Once qualified Charlotte was welcomed back as a staff nurse on her dementia unit. Progressing to Senior Staff Nurse Charlotte was destined for the role as sister when the position became available.
Her enthusiastic professional attitude & commitment is infectious on all of her nursing and care team.

Angela has been at the home for nearly 15 years and has worked her way from Staff Nurse up to Clinical Nurse Manager.
Angela is from Spain, and although she has settled in Andover she loves to travel the world. She is our very own Spanish Hermione Granger, Angela has a passion for all things Harry Potter as well as Mickey Mouse and the Disney Empire.
A keen reader of fiction, Angela has a passion for her job and the home.
