Ashley Lodge Care Home in New Milton, Hampshire offers 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and general nursing care, as well as dementia care.

My mother has been at Ashley Lodge Care Home for the past 6 months. It was a difficult decision but she knew after Christmas due to age and mobility the time had come to enter into residential care.
At the initial visit, the manager took time to listen to all of my mother's concerns and answered all
of her questions.
I can honestly write that I believe her health and mental state have actually improved since entering Ashley Lodge Care Home. She seems happy, content and especially assured by the professional health care support available 24/7.
All the staff are friendly, polite and courteous to my mother and to myself and my wife when we visit. The building appears to be clean, tidy and well maintained.
We are all happy that this was the right choice for mother.

Very pleasant and secure environment. Management and staff go out of their way to be understanding and helpful.
I am confident that my mother's needs are well catered for at Ashley Lodge and that she is in safe and caring hands.
Well-maintained building and it is easy to find a parking space, for
every visit, for very flexible visiting times. The chef clearly takes pride in food offerings.

What a lovely nursing home. They took on my father who was a difficult character. They looked after him so well considering how difficult he was. I felt totally at ease and knew he was ok there. It's a bright, immaculate home and run very well. It's a happy place. The staff work well together and are
so attentive to people's needs. I would totally recommend this nursing home.

Ashley Lodge Care Home has been a wonderful place for my mother over the last eleven months. We decided to place our mother here when her dementia progressed, staff at Ashley Lodge helped from the moment we contacted them and helped us through the paperwork. My mother is very happy here and her outlook
on life has got better thanks to the wonderful help that she has been given. We found the facilities excellent, care excellent.

My wife and I visited my sister early in May 2023. She is relatively bed-bound and only once in the last two years have we seen her out of her room. On the day we visited, we were particularly pleased when she told us she had been out of bed and had visited the dining room while some work was being
done in her room. She seems to have enjoyed it and didn't seem to mind being in the chair which had been made for her! The sad thing is she said she wished she could have heard the music that was being played by a man with his guitar. My sister is virtually deaf and it would be great to try and get some help for her hearing.
While there, the chef came to her room to see what she would like for lunch. It was lovely to see and hear them communicating, the chef using the whiteboard and my sister shouting out replies! It showed his caring commitment to my sister and brought a lot of happiness into her day!

From my first entry into Ashley Lodge until now, I have been impressed by the friendliness of all the staff and the light, bright appearance of the home throughout. As a frequent visitor, they greet me by my first name and make me feel at home there. They listen to any queries and comments I have regarding
my husband and consequently, I feel happy, that if he can no longer live at our home, then he is being kept safe and well cared for in their hands.

All round excellent outstanding welcoming care home. My mum has been in Ashley Lodge since 2013 and I can't speak highly enough of all the staff and manager, from the outstanding nursing care my mum receives to the food, communication, activities, to the cleanliness of Ashley Lodge. Very dedicated professional
caring and friendly staff each and everyone of them nothing is a problem to them and will always find time for you. The manager's door is always open for any concerns you may have and she is very approachable caring friendly and professional. I have peace of mind my mum is being taken very good care of she is happy and content and safe which means a lot to me. I would 100% recommend this home.

The professionalism and friendly staff is second to none. All the staff treat my mum like she is one of the Ashley Lodge family and makes me feel so happy to see my mum so settled and happy. The food and care is amazing and can not speak highly enough for the staff member on reception who is always
happy and friendly and also the manager who treats Mum as part of the family.
The communication and support to help me to know how my mum is (good and bad) make me feel she is in the most amazing place and could not be happier.

My mother went into Ashley Lodge for the last month of her life - a difficult and stressful time for us as a family. I am a retired registered nurse, so my standards are high! However, I found that my mother was treated with kindness and respect, the nursing care exemplary. I am so glad she spent her
final days here. It could not have been better for her - and for me, because the worry was taken away. I was confident she was in good hands.

The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. They have contacted us when the need arises. As we do not see Mum on a very regular basis, we would welcome a half-yearly update report/assessment. It would help us to understand the extent of Mum's deterioration.
We pay money into Mum's account for
toiletries, treats, hairdresser, chiropodist etc but we haven't received any account statements. We would like to receive statements (say quarterly) showing payments in, outgoings and account balance.

It's the first time I visited my friend at Ashley Lodge Care Home, my first impression was no awful smell as I entered (like in many homes), the warm welcome was not overdone and first name terms to family members, knowing who they were visiting immediately. The number of staff on duty was good to see
and the general buzz around, we were offered tea at the time the residents had theirs. All in all, I was impressed by the care. Thank you on my friend's behalf for her comfort.

My father was admitted in April 2021 for palliative care. Throughout he was treated with dignity and outstanding care, despite most of his time being bedbound, not a bed sore ever.
The carers knew him - really knew him and all about him and his life.
The staff supported us, his family, whole-heartedly.

I was born and raised in the village of Ashley so when the opportunity came up to make a difference to one of my local care homes, I grabbed it with both hands.

During lockdown, she wasn’t working and saw a lot of adverts on TV about the care industry and really wanted to help her local community, so she applied to work as a Home Assistant in our lovely home. “I really wanted to give something back to my community and I haven’t looked back! From kitchen work to housekeeping – I’ve done a bit of everything to help and I’ve loved it! I previously visited a care home when one of my relatives was in care and I couldn’t wait to get out of the place, but I’ve never had that feeling at Ashley Lodge. I walked in and the home was clean and tidy, the residents were lovely, and the staff were just so welcoming.”


“I love having a chat with our residents when I can but being part of making a difference to their lives is my favourite thing about working here. A few weeks ago the kitchen team served mince pies at afternoon tea and one of our residents was so excited! He told me how much he loves them, so I spoke to the kitchen and got him some extra ones and his face just lit up, he was so happy! It’s the little things that can make a huge difference to their day and I go home happy knowing that I made that happen.”
