Ashley Lodge Care Home in New Milton, Hampshire offers 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and general nursing care, as well as dementia care.

Took my mum from hospital to Ashley Lodge. As we drove down the driveway and approached the main entrance I noticed a welcome party. As we pulled up and stopped in the car, one lady introduced herself as the manager of the home. And the other two ladies gave us their names and then opened the car door
to help my mum out of the passenger seat. We were impressed that the manager had taken the time to welcome us. It made us feel like VIPs. The home is very nice and the staff are willing to help. So far very impressed.

My Mum entered Ashley Lodge 3 1/2 years ago with dementia and enjoyed the activities and outings. Gradually as her dementia increased and she required more help and nursing we always found all the staff treated Mum with respect and care. In the last year or so Mum was unable to walk unaided yet when
we visited she was always neat and clean in bed. Mum always loved having her hair set every week and staff brushed and cut her hair. Staff contacted us if health problems arose, medication changes, vaccines, and covid-19 changes.

I visited with my partner. The staff were all very professional, kind, and caring during our visit. I hadn’t appreciated how much effort it is for them to prepare for visitors, but they made the process as seamless as possible and were very happy to see us. Our Covid tests were checked on arrival (by
showing the date on the NHS email we’d received that morning). Our temperatures were checked. We were then given a big plastic box each that had a disposable mask, gloves, and apron in for us to put on before we entered. Once we were in the reception a member of the team picked up 2 chairs for us that had a label with ‘clean’ written on them. He then took us to see our relative and laid the chairs out for us to use. The lady who brought our relative the afternoon tea round was also very kind and helpful. Thank you all.

A highly professional but also extremely compassionate team. Unfailingly courteous and kind to both my sister and her relations. My sister had vascular dementia and needed very high levels of care towards the end of her life. I never felt other than confident in entrusting her to their care. In her

This was my first visit in person since my dad went into the home in February. I found the staff to be not only efficient but also warm and encouraging. I left feeling that my dad was being well looked after as an individual. He seemed very content. I am looking forward to my ongoing relationship with
all at the home. The member of staff who greeted me was particularly helpful, teaching me how to do my Covid test.

I stayed for 2 weeks in this lovely care home while waiting for my husband to arrive in the UK. Before arriving at the place, they asked me about my food preferences because they thought I eat halal foods. It was a good impression on my part because I felt like they are very considerate of my needs
and preferences. The room set up feels homely and cosy. I feel like I am at my own house as I have the privacy I needed. With regards to food choices, they have a variety of servings daily. Too bad though that I was on quarantine throughout my whole stay so I haven't experienced their weekly activities. However, they gave me good selections of colouring books, puzzles and mind games to keep me busy. The staff are approachable and caring. Overall, the experience was lovely.

I am writing this for my wife who is unable to carry out this task. She was diagnosed as having PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) in mid-2019. Our family was fully agreeable that we should provide domicilic support with her husband as carer, which we did for 18 months until the task became too difficult
to manage and obviously needed expert attention. With guidance, we settled on Ashley Lodge Care Home as being the best solution, and into which she moved in December 2020 and has settled down extremely well. Our family is extremely pleased that we made this decision.

I have made several phone calls and visits to Ashley Lodge where my friend is a resident. Because of Covid, I could not enter the home but when delivering items for my friend and making telephone contact I was always greeted by friendly, efficient and informative staff.

My mum spent her final weeks of life at Ashley Lodge. She was made to feel welcome from the moment she walked through the door. The staff were truly amazing, caring and compassionate towards us all. Mum had always said other people needed help more than she did and never liked to ask, she was extremely
independent right till the very end. Everyone ensured her daily needs were always met. The respect and dignity that was shown in her final hours was outstanding. It was such a relief to know we chose the right home for her.

A very professional, clean and safe environment for my mum who was quickly deteriorating with her dementia at the time. Despite mum being a difficult resident to deal with the staff always impressed me with tons of patience, kindness and the utmost professional and calm approach to mum's care. By visiting
5 times per week I could observe the dedication and passion of the management to meet the needs of the residents, with a compassionate and warm attitude to residents' families.
At the last moments of mum's life, all the staff and especially the manager showed their most caring side and gave me the help to come to terms with the loss. With their warmth, kindness and compassion, I felt like I was surrounded by family. I'll always be grateful for that.

Over the last few months, with lockdowns being in place, I would like to thank all the staff at Ashley Lodge for the communication via phone and on dropping off parcels to my mother as she is bed bound. I would also like to thank all members for the support they give at these stressful times but yet
make my mum, plus others, still smile and laugh even though hard to see loved ones and family also dealing with their own family at home as well as at the Lodge. It’s great for me to know my mum has the care and passion and I see that each time I have either had a phone call or been to see my mum via safe programmes the Lodge has placed. I thank you all and hope you all now at Ashley lodge from the manager to all staff that I am thankful for your care and dedication to my mum and others. My wife entered Ashley Lodge Care Home direct from hospital. She was completely against this and was extremely difficult. At once, the home went into lockdown and she was in isolation and didn't see any family for some weeks. She has settled in extremely well and this must be due to the success of the
management and staff. Our experience of the home and BUPA is only in the context of lockdown which is obviously not truly representative but we can only say on the whole, it has been extremely satisfactory. Management and staff have all been most professional and we believe that if the stay had been at a normal time we would be saying we would have looked forward to a very good future experience. My wife would not wish to be a permanent resident at present because she is able now to return home with the appropriate support. However, if her condition got worse we, the family and herself, would consider entry into Ashley Lodge again. Activities have been rated lower because of COVID restrictions. Value for Money is not rated as funds were provided by the health service.

Amazingly dedicated staff, from the top down to the bottom at every level, who have bent over backwards professionally and personally to provide a safe and secure environment for my Mum. These covid times have been so hard for family, staff and residents, but the cheerful, positive atmosphere has been
maintained with good dialogue and honest information given about the current situations as they arose. The manager has been very supportive, and informative throughout with her dedication is second to none. She provided me with her mobile number and was happy to take calls regarding my mother at any time. She is very dedicated and professional. A special thanks also to the nurse for being so caring and his dedication to my mother.
I would happily leave my mother here without question, but as we live over 45-minutes away, we are moving her to a home closer to me. Would highly recommend.

In the 2 1/2 years Mum has been a resident at Ashley Lodge, staff have at all times been caring, friendly and supportive of her needs. They have gone out of their way to offer her food to tempt her appetite and encourage her to join in activities. I have visited on various days at various times, and
she and her room have always been clean and tidy. They make a point of phoning me promptly if, for example, Mum has had a fall. I can relax in the confidence that she is being well cared for.
This period of pandemic must have been particularly difficult for staff, but I have nothing but praise for the professional and sensitive way in which they have handled the countless problems thrown up in such exceptional circumstances. I should like to thank them all from the bottom of my heart for their dedication.

I was born and raised in the village of Ashley so when the opportunity came up to make a difference to one of my local care homes, I grabbed it with both hands.


I’m a great believer in giving something back so spend a lot of time raising money for both local and national charities.

Cathy spent most of her working career in a high-powered corporate job in the motor trade industry. After moving to a new area, semi-retired, she took a part-time role in a local bar. During lockdown, she wasn’t working and saw a lot of adverts on TV about the care industry and really wanted to help her local community, so she applied to work as a Home Assistant in our lovely home. “I really wanted to give something back to my community and I haven’t looked back! From kitchen work to housekeeping – I’ve done a bit of everything to help and I’ve loved it! I previously visited a care home when one of my relatives was in care and I couldn’t wait to get out of the place, but I’ve never had that feeling at Ashley Lodge. I walked in and the home was clean and tidy, the residents were lovely, and the staff were just so welcoming.”


“I love having a chat with our residents when I can but being part of making a difference to their lives is my favourite thing about working here. A few weeks ago the kitchen team served mince pies at afternoon tea and one of our residents was so excited! He told me how much he loves them, so I spoke to the kitchen and got him some extra ones and his face just lit up, he was so happy!
