Ashley Lodge Care Home in New Milton, Hampshire offers 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and general nursing care, as well as dementia care.

The Gentleman I come to see has only just come into Ashley Lodge Care Home, I was worried as he doesn't like change, But he has settled in very well. He couldn't have more care given if they tried. Everything and everyone have made him very happy which is a load off my mind. I've cared for him for over
20 years, so it has been a worry to get him settled. I am more than pleased with his care and its a joy to come & visit him and know he is well looked after. Well done and a big thank you to you all.

The home looked after my Aunt for close to four years. She has been comfortable and well cared for by staff that were often her friends. The care she received was excellent and the staff almost always friendly to her and her family. I was always kept informed when health professional were called or
when she had a fall.

The care at Ashley Lodge is outstanding with everyone going the extra mile to ensure that residents have the best possible care even when they are under pressure. It is so refreshing to see how staff dress up on special occasions and make a fuss when it is a residents birthday just as if the resident
was part of their own family. Having visited a number of residential homes it is also full credit to staff that everything at the home is so clean and that there are absolutely no unpleasant smells - well done!

Mum was recently rushed into hospital from the home. The staff acted promptly, with care and expertise to ensure that an ambulance was called and that Mum was reassured and comforted whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive. During Mums hospital stay, the staff were regularly in touch with the hospital
to see how she was. When Mum returned to the home she was warmly welcomed back by the staff who were pleased to see her. I had total confidence in the staff during this emergency and was also impressed by the way in which they kept me informed about what was happening.

I have worked in healthcare for over 12 years. I feel that you need to be so many things to be a care home manager but the most important thing you need is passion in everything you do for your residents and team.


I was born and raised in the village of Ashley so when the opportunity came up to make a difference to one of my local care homes, I grabbed it with both hands.


I’m a great believer in giving something back so spend a lot of time raising money for both local and national charities.

Cathy spent most of her working career in a high-powered corporate job in the motor trade industry. After moving to a new area, semi-retired, she took a part-time role in a local bar. During lockdown, she wasn’t working and saw a lot of adverts on TV about the care industry and really wanted to help her local community, so she applied to work as a Home Assistant in our lovely home. “I really wanted to give something back to my community and I haven’t looked back! From kitchen work to housekeeping – I’ve done a bit of everything to help and I’ve loved it! I previously visited a care home when one of my relatives was in care and I couldn’t wait to get out of the place, but I’ve never had that feeling at Ashley Lodge. I walked in and the home was clean and tidy, the residents were lovely, and the staff were just so welcoming.”


“I love having a chat with our residents when I can but being part of making a difference to their lives is my favourite thing about working here. A few weeks ago the kitchen team served mince pies at afternoon tea and one of our residents was so excited! He told me how much he loves them, so I spoke to the kitchen and got him some extra ones and his face just lit up, he was so happy! It’s the little things that can make a huge difference to their day and I go home happy knowing that I made that happen.”
