Canford Manor Nursing Home offers exceptional nursing care a stone's throw from the beach in Lee on the Solent.

They welcome residents with nursing requirements including some dementia. With plenty of caring, clinically skilled and local Nurses on duty 24 hours a day, and a team of kind care assistants, every need is met for those who choose to live here.

The extensive team includes chefs and kitchen assistants, admin and support staff with a team of domestic 'sparklers' to keep the home looking spotless. A full time activity person breathes plenty of life and fun into most days with group activities, personalised one-to-one activities and events.

The home has a calm and welcoming atmosphere and offers a very professional, efficient, nursing care service. There are gardens all around the property with the rear garden being fully enclosed and safe, with a new sensory interest feature in Summer 2021 and a tiki hut bar. Meals are especially celebrated as social events, with conversation, high quality home cooked food and wine/beer/sherry accompaniments.

A hairdresser visits weekly and a chiropodist regularly. Every bedroom is single and has an en-suite toilet. Many bedrooms have a full en-suite shower room. Ground floor rooms have patio doors onto the gardens or decking.

There are two communal bathrooms, and a large shower room facility. All laundry is complimentary and most day-to-day living costs are included in the fees, similar to an all-inclusive hotel lifestyle.

Visitors are welcome to the home.

All the staff were lovely, very caring and supportive. I was given accurate and helpful updates about my father e.g. what medication he had. I was always made welcome and staff appeared skilled and sensitive. It was such a comfort to know my father had the best quality care at the end of his life.

My mother-in-law was not in Canford Manor for long, but in the time she was there I found the service and care to be exceptional. Every team member I came into contact with was understanding, caring and compassionate. They never seemed rushed even though they were obviously busy. They treated all of
us with respect and so clearly were dedicated and caring individuals. It's such a worrying time when you have a sick, elderly relative but we had to worry slightly less knowing she was in good hands.

I have found the staff very helpful and pleasant always willing to listen. My husband has always been treated well, his room is clean and comfortable. The management has been very good at keeping the home safe, however, I do find talking to my husband behind a screen difficult as with Parkinson's his
speech is slurred.

A welcoming, caring, friendly atmosphere. Good, well-maintained facilities, coupled with staff who, obviously worked well together as a strong team. Despite delays in hospital transport availability, management at Canford Manor remained helpful and friendly. We were sorry Dad only spent 18 days here
before, sadly, passing away after a few days in hospital.

I can highly recommend Canford Manor Nursing Home as they couldn’t have done more to accommodate our 95-year-old mother since she moved there in August this year. This was not a decision we took lightly but the manager was there to help from the start. With her knowledge, experience and reassurance,
we knew this was the best option for mum and she has done everything she can to make things as easy as possible for all of us. The numerous staff are very friendly and approachable, they treat the residents like family and genuinely seem to care about them. The home is clean, well looked after and feels more like a hotel than a Nursing Home. We feel much happier about our Mum’s situation now and can relax knowing she is safe and well cared for.

A lovely home. The staff are lovely and caring and the place is lovely and clean. The food is lovely. It's a shame my relative may have to move as they have looked after him so well. He is so much better and has put on weight.

My nan loved Canford almost as much as her own home. All the girls were so lovely to her and she formed real bonds with some of them. The home itself is beautiful but not in an uncomfortable show home place, it really is their home from home.
nan loved joining in with the activities. She loved seeing
the rabbits in the garden and spending time with people who genuinely cared for her.
Nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone and that shows what a great team the manager has.

My mother arrived as a bit of an emergency but was welcomed warmly. Everything about the home form the rooms and decor to all the staff was above and beyond our expectations. It wasn't just my mother that was looked after but as, as her family. Such a warm, friendly place that could not have done more
for us all. I know where I will be booking when my time comes!

Staff were always professional and kind, despite my uncle's episodes of paranoia, frustration and bitterness. They offered him every service, even if he frequently declined and at times spent hours reassuring him.
He did not want to be there but staff looked after him as well as he would let them.
We visited often and at all times and always found an open, warm and professional welcome. The nurses particularly were heroes. The home made his death as bearable and dignified as possible. The manager told me, "This is your Uncle's home, not ours." She meant it.

My Mum is very happy at Canford, her personality is welcomed. She is cared for and her requests dealt with. The staff are patient with her, joke with her and she enjoys that. She loves the entertainment and the people who visit to provide that. As a 94 year old, she feels safe, care for and happy. The

All the staff were supportive of my mother and her family. Queries were answered in a clear and informative manner. Concerns were always promptly dealt with. My grandma came in as an emergency 3 days before Christmas. On viewing the home, I found it to be a warm and welcoming home.
All the management and staff really do everything they can to make it a proper home for their residents. They not only took care of my grandma but all the family as well. It
is a happy home. The staff could not do more to help their residents and families. The food is amazing plenty of it and home cooked! The home itself is beautifully decorated, light and airy and smells lovely! There are plenty of activities most days, ranging from flower arranging and arts and crafts to quizzes and music sessions. The summer fete was amazing, outside entertainment, raffles and bric-a-brac all made to a perfect summer day! The management team are welcoming and have an 'open door' policy where families can have a chat. All of the staff, not just carers have a great rapport with all of the residents and their families. Would definitely recommend this home to anyone!!
