Chatterwood House nursing home is a converted Victorian building, and has undergone extensive renovations to create a beautiful care environment for up to 35 residents. The revamped home offers a spacious interior, combined with generous garden areas.

Though Chatterwood is ideal for long-term accommodation, where it welcomes friends and family to visit and maintains a friendly atmosphere, it can also offer its facilities for terminally ill patients, thanks to its team of highly-skilled care staff.

The home's staff have a flexible and sensitive approach towards residents' personal requirements, and run a popular activities programme that includes reminiscence therapy and musical movement, together with an annual fete.

My father was admitted into hospital in Chichester whilst I was on holiday. He had been living in a care home for the past two years but had a fall which led to a bleed on the brain. When I returned I was shocked and very distressed to see the change in his condition in just two weeks. It was clear
he needed to find a new nursing home and fast. The manageress and her staff were amazing and I shall be forever grateful. The home is always spotless, the staff charming. My dad is doing well as a result of the care he has received.

My mother came to Chatterwood after a number of weeks in hospital. The staff made her welcome and were compassionate and sensitive. The home is clean and comfortable, with a friendly, homely feel. The renovation works in 2017 have delivered a well configured and suitable sized home with character.
Her
numerous wounds have required frequent redressing, well embraced by the nurses. It has been pleasing to see Mum so involved with the varied activities programme. The person-centred care of the Chatterwood team is a commendable example of how care should be delivered and reflects well upon the capable and confident manager. The team work tirelessly to ensure that residents feel at home, safe and supported by people who really care. I would not hesitate in recommending Chatterwood.

My partner has stayed at Chatterwood twice recently for respite. We were so pleased to see him looked after so well. The staff were kind, caring and professional. The home was extremely clean, warm and comfortable and everyone did everything they could to make his stay pleasant.

We needed respite care for mum and everyone at Chatterwood made her very welcome.

My mother had a massive stroke in August 2012 and went into Chatterwood House the following October.
From that time onwards, she was essentially bed-bound and looked after with care, compassion and humanity. I was at all times, kept up to date with her state of health and in nearly six years, she only
once had a minor bed sore which was quickly dealt with. A testament to the really good care and nursing she received.

My mother went into Chatterwood on the 16th March for a weeks respite care, which became permanent as she and all the family were happy with it. She had been diagnosed with cancer in February and it was no longer safe for her to be a home. She deteriorated over the next three months and had a very poor
appetite. They would try to tempt her, sometimes with three different meal. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were always pleasant, kind and accommodating.

My Mother-in-law went into Chatterwood Nursing Home on 16th March 2018. She was deteriorating health wise. From day one, she was looked after in such a good way. The staff showed her a lot of care and affection. There was nothing they wouldn't do to make her and all the other residents comfortable and
happy. They also showed respect for her relations. I cannot fault them in any way. My mother in Law died on 20th June. If one day I needed to go into care, make it Chatterwood please.

My mother recently spent 3 weeks here for end of life care. She had been diagnosed with advanced, inoperable cancer & we did not know how long she had to live. As a retired nurse, I was concerned the care would be good enough for my mum. I need not have worried. Whether day or night mum was cared for
by kind & caring nurses & carers, led by a strong & visible manager. Everyone was so friendly & respectful - from the cook to the lady who did the laundry, to the handyman. There was continuity of care from regular staff & the staffing levels were good. Mum’s pain relief was well managed & this was a comfort to us all in her final days. Thankyou Chatterwood.

My mother has recently come to stay at Chatterwood and is settling in extremely well. Mum has dementia and does not accept that she needs help as she is a very independent person. All the staff at Chatterwood have been sensitive to this and mum looks so much better after only a few days in their care.
I was concerned that mum would find it difficult to settle and whilst it is very early days, I am most impressed with the way the staff have helped her. The newly refurbished lounge areas and new extension for bedrooms are very welcoming and bright and mum says the bed is very comfortable!

This was not on the hospital list for care homes. We found it on the internet search. Drove around the area and of the five homes we viewed, this stood out. The building has just been refurbished to a very high standard. The bedrooms and ensuite facilities were very good. The staff here go that extra
bit to look after the people staying here. We as a family when visiting were treated with a warm and friendly welcome.


My mother has a small food intake and can be fussy but her wishes were always accounted for.

I would like to welcome you to our home where we have a great team to help you with your needs as you choose. I have been a nurse/manager for over 20 years.


Chatterwood Nursing Home is more like a hotel than a care home. It’s spacious and light, with its own hair salon, and comfortable lounges. Each bedroom is individually styled and has its own en-suite facilities. Many of the rooms on the ground floor have their own patio doors, opening directly onto our lovely decking area. On warm and sunny days residents can enjoy sitting here with a cold drink or ice cream to enjoy the beautiful countryside views
