During this time the family have had to deal with many emotions in trying to get "our mum" to accept she is no longer safe to return home even with a care package in
Throughout, mum has had first-class care and support as have we, her family. We know mum will be well looked after and safe in Barchester Challoner House Care Home. Thank you all.

Thank you for your comments, they are always a valuable source of learning for us at the home. To reassure you that our staffing levels are in line with company policy, which is always above the industry average, at present recruitment is an on-going challenge and therefore we are utilising agency carers to help us through this period. We always try and use the same agency workers to assist with continuity, recently we have recruited 5 new carers and will be able to rely on our own staff to deliver care in the future.

Sarah joined Barchester in 2009 and has recently joined the team here at Challoner. She brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge and is committed to providing the highest quality of care and nursing here at Challoner.
Job Title: Administrator
Dani's role is to support General Manager by maintaining the administration and financial systems within the home in accordance with company standards and in compliance with all regulatory and statutory obligations. Dani is often the first point of contact for relatives and representatives and tends to get to know everyone more personally.
Job Title: Receptionist
Joined: 2007
Valerie has worked at Challoner House for over seven years, and is often the first face or voice of Challoner house. She ensures that a warm and friendly smile or cheery voice is seen or heard. Valerie enjoys the fact that no two days are the same.
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Lilo is a Registered Nurse at Challoner House and has been for several years. Lilo supports residents within the home with all aspects of their care and all their nursing needs.
Job Title: Head Housekeeper
Joined: 2014
Lisa has been at Challoner since 2014 and has worked in the kitchen, on care and finally housekeeping where she was promoted to Head Housekeeper in recent months. Lisa is thriving in this role and is doing a fantastic job!

Gemma started working at Challoner House for Eighteen years. Gemma started her working life at Challoner House as a care assistant, Gemma then went on to study for her Nursing through the Barchester Development Program and has worked her way up to become the our Clinical Deputy Manager.

Alison joined Challoner House in 2023 as part of our administration team. Alison has a back ground history of working in administration for care settings and doctors surgeries.
