Durban House Nursing Home gives a feeling of 'home from home' and focuses on providing a more homely and intimate environment rather than a hotel style way of living. This means the home has a very relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

Choosing the right care home is no easy task. You often have to make decisions regarding your relative at an already stressful time. My mother has been a long term resident of Durban House (7 years +). During the time she has been there, she has been very well cared for. The staff are professional and
caring and the environment welcoming. I am very pleased we chose Durban House. I recommend it.

Found all staff and management very efficient. Excellent handling of clients, food always looked appetising. Home always clean and tidy. Garden and surrounding area very nice and ready for summer.

We could not have chosen a better home for Dad to have spent the last five months of his life. All the staff are so welcoming and caring and always treated Dad with warmth and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble and all of my Dad's needs were catered for, even with him getting fussy over his food.
All staff also showed great caring and support for us as a family as well as Dad. You felt like you were visiting Dad's own home and his friends, not just a home! We can't thank them enough.

I am a nurse with 25 years experience and I have always been very impressed with the care my father has received. The staff are very hard working and are lovely to all the residents. My father is cared for in exactly the way I would want for him.
He is always clean and tidy and comfortable.

My mother passed away at the end of April in her sleep, we so miss her.
When the time came, all the staff at Durban House were so kind and patient, both to mum and to my sisters and family. Anything and everything we needed was provided. Mum had a beautiful room with all her things around her.
We
enjoyed parties at Easter, Christmas, mum's birthday and so many more.
It broke my heart to have mum put into care but we couldn't have made a better choice. Mum was happy, we were happy and as a family miss you all at Durban House.

Durban House is well organised to provide a comfortable and happy home for the residents whilst carefully attending to their health and medical requirements, very promptly dealing with any discomfort or ill health to prevent any deterioration.


Durban House staff and managers are friendly, helpful

and cheerful. The very good food is provided is an important factor in a resident's enjoyment and well-being. As a family we have observed how much our mother's health and well-being have improved in the two years she has been at Durban House, and she has just celebrated her 100th birthday.

I have confidence that my mother is kept safe at all times she is kept comfortable and she is treated with respect and in a friendly way. She is kept clean and dressed appropriately. Activities and outings are offered and she is encouraged to mix with other residents when she declines activities or
is tired, her wishes are respected if it is safe. The staff are all friendly and welcoming to visitors and relatives and always make time to talk about anything that I might bring up. The staff are always smiling and look as though they enjoy working there. The garden is lovely and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. A lovely caring and efficient home.

My husband died at Durban House, he was there for nearly 3 years. I couldn't have wished for better care and understanding of his situation. He had, had a major stroke and vascular dementia. The staff were so kind to us both.
