St George's private nursing home provides high quality professional care to residents that require nursing care in Milford-on-Sea in Hampshire.

The home is based near many scenic landmarks, near the New Forest and with a short walk to the sea, overlooking the Isle of Wight and The Needles. The nearest larger towns are only a short drive; Lymington and Milford (10 minutes), Christchurch (20 minutes) and Bournemouth (30 minutes).

The accommodation is single occupancy rooms, mostly with en-suite facilities. The is also one double bedroom available.

St. George’s is registered to cater for adults for general nursing care. This includes convalescence, acute medical, postoperative, respite and physically disabled care. Palliative care is also offered.

After having experienced help from the home care team over the past couple of years, we were quite
certain that St George's Nursing Home was the right choice when the time came to admit my elderly
mother. The home was quiet, orderly, and spotlessly clean throughout, and was obviously very well
managed.
Most impressive of all were the nursing staff, from the clinical lead, who was extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and efficient, to the rest of the nursing team, who were also dedicated and sympathetic. It was noticeable that patients were being observed on a continual basis, and that nothing was too much trouble. Attention was given to even the smallest details, and at all times, there was a warm and genuinely friendly and caring approach towards the residents as well as to any visitors.

When choosing a nursing home to provide two weeks of post-op care following a total knee replacement, I needed somewhere with good nursing care and the facility for physiotherapy, a well-ordered home with good, efficient and friendly staff, and meals that I would enjoy and not just endure! All of these
things were met by St George's to the highest standard. The home was obviously well managed and efficiently run, queries answered, care taken with following Covid guidance and a general air of friendliness.
The clinical lead and general nursing care were excellent; they liaised with the hospital where the surgery had taken place to establish the necessary care and possible peripheral needs. At the end of my stay, the clinical lead checked that everything was as it should be.
The housekeeping team were friendly, helpful and always willing to make that extra cup of tea if I woke up early; the water jugs went into the dishwasher overnight, so were always sparkling clean. The whole of the floor I was on was spotlessly clean as I walked around it each day practising with my new knee.
The food was varied, well cooked and very well presented with good choices.

I cannot recommend St George's highly enough. My husband was there almost four years, during which time, the care and support he received were outstanding, and by extension, the wider family were also supported. His care, especially during his final days, ensure my husbands passing was as dignified
and pain-free as possible. St George's are not cheap, but they are worth every penny for the peace of mind and care.

My late mother-in-law was cared for at St George's for several years. She suffered from dementia, which initially affected her memory with a bit of confusion thrown in, but latterly became very severe in the dreadful way dementia does. The care she received at St George's was second to none. We were
continually impressed by the dedication of the staff, who truly cared about the residents, doing all they could to ensure that they were happy, occupied and enjoying their time there. We are completely satisfied that my mother-in-law was safe and well cared for at St George's, which gave us peace of mind. At the end of her life, we couldn't have asked for more compassion and understanding of the situation, and will be forever thankful that they allowed us to come in and spend precious time together, despite Covid. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this remarkable home to anyone who needs either temporary or permanent care for themselves or a loved one.

I had a full knee replacement and stayed here for post-operative recovery. The manager was very helpful, fitting in with the hospital dates and ensuring that I had everything I needed. The staff were so kind, knowledgeable and caring. The food was fabulous with a great choice. I would not hesitate to

St George’s have been a brilliant support to our Mum and our family since 2016 when we used their home care services. All home care staff and admin staff were lovely and caring. Mum moved into St George’s as a permanent resident in the summer of 2020. Despite the year, we have had with Lockdown, St
George’s have been brilliant with Mum and also helpful to us with providing Covid safe visits when possible

My wife has been in care at St George's for over two years and up to the pandemic, I was able to visit her every day and was always impressed with the care she received. When lockdown started, all efforts were made to ensure contact could be maintained either by Skype or phone initially, then by gazebo
- sanitised and screened room, or now with limited contact. It gave me great peace of mind throughout these times to know my wife was being cared for by a committed management and staff.

My general impression of St George's Nursing Home; both on my present visit for short-term respite care and on my previous stay of approximately 18 months in 2018 - 2019, is of an excellent care home with very good facilities and caring staff.
One issue I have noticed is that some residents find eating
their main meal at midday difficult, as they are used to the main meal in the evening and I think this problem could be overcome fairly easily if meals were prepared for lunchtime, as at present, but reheated for the evening for those residents who preferred (very few items would be any problem - and these could be omitted from the evening meals).

During the period of more than a year, I have been a resident here and for the 2 years before that when I regularly visited my father-in-law when he was a resident in St Georges. I have been very impressed by the facilities, activities and standard of care. One thing I would like to note, however, is
concerns regarding the limited choice of food available to vegetarian residents. Two of my now-adult children are vegetarian and I know how wide a range is possible.

My mother was admitted into St George's after a spell in hospital. We were already using St George's for home help and were already impressed with their care. She settled in immediately and respite changed to permanent when we saw how much she was enjoying the company of the other residents and the
care of the staff so much. She is smiling and joking again and re-learning the social skills she had lost.

Unknown at the start of the placement, Mum's stay at the home was only going to be for 3.5 weeks. Mum was assessed as a patient at the local hospital, which was carried out promptly after my request and I was touched by the sensitivity and compassion shown by the assessor during this first meeting.
I'd already visited some other homes and St George's became top of the list. This was due to the environment within the home: clean, bright, fresh; type of room available, price range and communal spaces; courtyard garden included. We found that staff were friendly, caring and seemed very happy in their work. Some staff were long standing nursers/carers at St George's. We were always offered a hot drink whenever we visited. My sister and I felt confident that Mum's needs were going to be met appropriately and we weren't disappointed. Mum liked her cosy room and she was cared for appropriately when she remained alert and chatty and also when she needed peace and quiet. We couldn't have wanted anything better for her.

My sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer at a relatively young age and was resident at St. Georges for nearly a year until her recent passing.
She was always looked after well with the utmost care, dignity and compassion. All the staff were lovely to my sister and all her visitors - nothing was
too much trouble for any of the staff from the nurses, helpers, laundry and kitchen staff right through to the maintenance guys.
My sisters' final months were spent with as much compassion and relief from pain as was possible, which is a huge comfort to the family.

My mother moved to St George's Nursing Home in July 2018 after four and a half months in a hospital. She was adamant she did not want to go into a nursing home but settled well and quickly changed her opinion. The staff were warm and friendly, caring and respectful. She deteriorated and the home were
exceptional in their support and care of her and us as a family. Contact was regular and her end was peaceful due entirely to the outstanding staff at St George's Nursing Home.

St George's provides extremely good care. The staff are always attentive and kind to residents and friendly and responsive to the concerns of families.
Even though my mother no longer has capacity, the staff are always respectful, kind and gentle. There is a lovely atmosphere and it is as much like
