It is finished and furnished to a high standard offering a homely yet first class spacious environment with plentiful landscaped gardens and a large pond featuring Koi carp.

My Brother has been very well cared for. He is happy and is happy with all the carers who, kindly, look after him. He loves his music. He is always clean and tidy just as he would wish. Many thanks to all the staff, what a wonderful team.

My first impression standing at reception was how clean and modern and smart it is, more like a hotel. The manageress is such a warm and friendly, helpful person - the staff are wonderful. All the rooms are large and comfortable with a view of the beautiful gardens. The restaurant is more like a hotel
dining area with a view of the garden. The food is very good with second helpings if you wish.
I do not want to go home, I enjoy the activities.
I cannot speak highly enough of Gorseway Lodge. Also the biggest factor - there is no smell of urine, everywhere is clean.

Having visited for a look round before booking my mother in law in for 2 weeks respite after spinal fusion surgery we were continually chasing for a promised assessment of her needs after discharge from the hospital.
Finally, it happened and she was taken from the hospital in Salisbury to this care
home.
She stayed for one night!
The call system bells were going all night and staff were very hard to find.
We were sold a peaceful, stress-free recovery time for my mother in law after major surgery.
This is not what she got.
The room seemed pleasant enough when we looked around.
Sadly the floors were sticky and the bedding smelt very unpleasant when she eventually went to bed.
She hardly slept and her stay did not even last 24 hours.
Considering how much she was to be charged for her two-week stay I definitely think that this home could do so much better.

Since my father has been released from the hospital he has improved tremendously whilst in Gorseway Lodge's care. The staff are kind and compassionate and are working with dad to implement the physio's exercise plan to improve his mobility. We lost his wife recently too and the staff followed our lead
keeping quiet about mums death until dad was ready and then supporting him through the following days.
They far exceeded our expectations by laying on a mini bus to take us all to the funeral allowing a small wake in their lounge and even giving dad condolences flowers. We are delighted with their service and feel the staff care for him, as we would do. Superb..

This is my first experience of a care/nursing home and I am pleasantly surprised. My room has all home comforts - TV with Freeview, en-suite, armchair etc. A very nice view out onto gardens.
I am a 'fussy' eater but all my likes and dislikes were catered for, while all the staff are very friendly and
helpful. There are several activities, podiatrist and hairdresser available and there are two communal lounges.
All very pleasant.

My dad moved to Gorseway after nearly 3 months in the hospital. He has settled there really well and the staff are efficient, welcoming and lovely. The manager and team have been great at all the paperwork side but the stars are the team leaders.
Amazingly hard working and problem-solving geniuses.
The food is appetising and nutritious and my dad has his appetite back.
His clothes get washed daily and he is clean too. His wishes are respected and he seems happy here.

I can't recommend Gorseway highly enough. My mother has been on the Dementia ward for 5 months now, and all the staff have been consistently friendly, helpful and patient with her. There is always a choice of 2 meals and puddings every mealtime and the meals look very good.
The rooms are spacious,
clean and bright, with ensuite bathrooms.
It is such a relief to know that she is in good hands and I don't need to worry on her behalf.

Since the new manager has been working at Gorseway in the last few months you certainly see a marked improvement in the running of the home. The atmosphere feels much better amongst the staff, but it would be good to see more permanent staff, than using agency workers. When you arrive in reception you
are always welcomed by the lovely receptionist. My friend always looks clean, comfortable and well looked after. Her meals are always hot and fed to her with care and attention. Iw ould be happy to recommend Gorseway Care. Also, the nurses are always happy to discuss any queries you may have. Also, they contact me at home if they think necessary.

My Aunt always appears to be relaxed in her room. The room is clean and tidy. My Aunt always appears clean and well cared for and reports to me that the staff are all nice. I have always been able to speak to the staff easily and have found them to be very friendly and appear to know my Aunt and
understand her very well. My Aunt does not eat much but this is her own choice.

The full time staff are very helpful and caring, however when agency staff are used, they are not aware of the history of the particular resident, and not as caring, can be abrupt. There also appears to be not a very good handover from agency staff and when staff return from leave. Also when the staff
have a strong foreign accent, the older age people this can cause a problem with communication.

My husband went to Gorseway 8 years ago and I have to say the care and attention he is getting has improved immensely since Barchester care took over the Gorseway. The staff are all very good. The leisure and entertainment department and the young lady in care also very good. Of course there are times
when I have to mention something is not as it should be, but it is always put right and the problem is solved. So I am very happy to have my husband being cared for at Gorseway Hayling Island.
