We appreciate it has been a tough year and are pleased that Dad is being cared for. As a relative, we get the impression that staff are stretched. It can be frustrating that we are asked to only call in the evenings when the skeleton team are stretched to pick up the phone. There is also concern that
things go missing around the home. One area I would love to see improved is if residents could get regular access to fresh air via the outside patio space.
On a positive note, the staff are always friendly and attentive during visits.

My father has been very happy at Lavender Lodge and the staff have been extremely helpful and supportive during these difficult times. My father loves the food which in itself is a miracle as he is extremely fussy.

The staff are always happy, happy to help and very approachable. Mum is looked after very well. The reception staff are lovely, and the sisters are very caring.
Lavender Lodge is a homely setting. If I had any pointers, it would be to get rid of the carpet in the lounge and also needs a lick of paint,
but for me, the care package they offer is second to none. Great chef too.

The staff are kind and attentive, always friendly and helpful. My stepdad has a very nice room with a large window and a large TV. He enjoys his food and is looking forward to being taken into the garden in the fine weather.

I visited my friend who is at Lavender Lodge and while waiting for the results of having my lateral flow test I was offered a drink which was most welcome. I was welcomed into the home by the carer and showed me to my friend's room. The home is very clean and smelt amazing as it was dinner time and
I did ask if it was a problem that I was here at mealtime but the manager said that being with her would be good.
Her dinner was very nice presented like a 5-star restaurant definitely recommending this home. Everyone was wearing masks and they very lovely soft speaking, not noisy and chaotic as other places I've been.

Great care home. Friendly staff. Very kind and compassionate carers. Can feel confident my father is in a great place and receiving the support and care he needs. Have large parking so parking is no issue when visiting.

Unsatisfactory in many ways, staff unable to following simple written instructions on the thickening agent for fluids. When management informed she simply dismissed concerns, concerns raised by family and SALT team. Staff witnessed feeding Mother in law, cleaning food from the mouth with an uncovered
hand, also using the same spoon for dinner then yoghurt without cleaning down. During Covid pandemic.
Unwilling to work with the family to address concerns regarding relatives wellbeing and care.
Used to be a respected home but following several new owners each seemingly progressively poorer, staff turnover has increased, the good ones are gone and now what appears to be a lot of residents 'leaving' to allow all residents to be accommodated on two floors. Some 20 or so rooms becoming available.
We are seeking alternative accommodation for a family member.

As you will be aware from previous communications, the concerns that you refer to (raised in June 2020) were forwarded to the relevant regulatory bodies by the home manager. In conjunction with Social Services and the Care Quality Commission, they were investigated and managed appropriately and brought to a close.
I’m sorry that you feel Lavender Lodge has not been worked with your family to resolve issues that you have raised. We have worked collaboratively with the relevant regulatory bodies to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
We are aware that you were unhappy with the recent relocation of residents within the home. We spoke to each family, individually, to explain why this was necessary and as a result, we are able to continue to offer safe, effective and resident centred care during the pandemic with minimal reliance on agency staff. We respect your wish to seek alternative accommodation and are working with Social Services to facilitate this.

We chose Lavender Lodge for my father-in-law as his vascular dementia progressed. He came in January 2019. We have been happy with every aspect of the care and attention he receives here. As relatives, we are welcome at any time and always greeted by a friendly member of staff. We have been to many
events which the home host over the past ten months and it’s incredible how active they all are at doing these events. The food is excellent and the care my father-in-law receives is second to none. Thank you to all the staff.

All the staff at Lavender Lodge are very kind, caring and compassionate to all residents and visitors.
Management knew the residents and spoke to us as relatives.
The carers were very patient and spoke gently to the residents.
Just before my father died, one of the team members kept coming into his
room to check on him and also on us and explained the care he was having and making a difficult time more bearable.

My mother had respite care for five weeks over the Christmas period. She received good care and attention, plus entertainment some afternoons. She was also able to get her hair done and chiropody. Food was good and the Christmas buffet was excellent. They all show a caring attitude towards the residents,
also helpful with any queries, with nothing being too much trouble. My mother had low mobility but this wasn’t too much of a problem. I noticed how hard the carers worked to create a nice and tranquil atmosphere for all levels of disability. The nursing team, also very caring and professional in their outlook. I have no trouble praising this home, my mother really benefitted from her stay there.

Lavender Lodge is an excellent care home. Above all, we felt it was a 'home' and not an institution. All the staff were warm, friendly and loving to the residents and families. The food is first-rate with plenty of snacks and drinks in between. Dad was always clean and smartly presented. All his
clothes were changed and washed every day. He always had his own clothes - everything individually labelled. All the areas - public and Dad's own room - were clean and fresh with no unpleasant smells. The nursing staff were first-rate and gave him wonderful end of life care.
