Recently refurbished, Knights Grove has been rated 'outstanding' by the CQC (March 2019) and has been purpose-built to offer high levels of tailored short, or long term, care for those living with dementia. Palliative care is also offered.

Situated in a quiet residential area of North Baddesley, close to local amenities, Knights Grove has been carefully designed to provide a safe and stimulating setting.

Accommodation includes bright and comfortable interiors set across three floors, and all bedrooms are en suite with views of the surrounding landscaped gardens.

The home’s chef ensures that mealtimes are an important and enjoyable time for residents. The home provides both hot and cold meal options for residents and works hard to ensure that all special dietary needs are catered for.

A professional team supports residents in continuing their hobbies and aim to give them access to any activity they wish.

Reminiscence therapy is also used within the home which residents enjoy and benefit from. Themed events and days out add to the busy social calendar.

Home appears to be clean and well staffed and give care with patience in not always easy circumstances. I have not experienced the food personally but have heard no complaints.

Very good care with good staff and good facilities. I would like to see more 'sensory' activities for the residents with late-stage Alzheimer's.

When the regular team of staff are in duty - everything runs smoothly. My partner is now in the latter stages of Lewy Body Dementia. He needs all care and the staff are very caring. Nothing is too much trouble.
If the trained staff are concerned at all, they always contact me and if there has been
a doctor's visit, I am always updated. I do notice, however, when agency staff are used, the standard of care falls. I do realise that this is not what the home wants and they are prioritising in recruiting. Continuity of staff of very important when dealing with dementia residents.

My wife has now been in Knights Grove Care Home for about 5months, during that time I have visited most days.
I claim no expertise in assessing care homes, but so far as I can tell, the standard of care provided is high and I am satisfied that my wife is being looked after well.

My mother has been in the home for six years and during that time we have seen almost as many managers come and go. There is no doubt that the standard in a home depends on the quality of the manager. The current manager is good as was the previous one but that wasn't always the case, especially when
there was no manager a few years ago and then a deputy stepped into the breach - the standards plummeted. Happily the home is now greatly improved and my mother is very happy here. I too value the home and the staff who are kind and caring. They have taken the trouble to get to know their residents and try to make the place feel homely, inviting and relaxing for them. There is always room for improvement and I am glad that our new manager has ideas and vision for the place which hopefully will be implemented before too long.

My mothers needs are fully understood. I am happy she is living in a safe and clean environment. The staff are very friendly and caring towards her. Although she often does not want to eat or drink, the staff spend a lot of time encouraging her to do so with positive results.

A very caring, knowledgable and clean organisation that understood my Mother's needs. They provided first class residential facilities with a human touch, she felt it was her home. She was well looked after and the staff were excellent.
