The staff at Manor Place cared for my mother in law from September to December 2019. The care and compassion were exemplary. We were kept informed of all aspects of mums care and nothing was too much trouble. The home was very clean and the food was good and plentiful.
We were able to visit at any
time of the day and the staff were always cheerful.
Mum and family were treated with respect and dignity when she passed away in December aged 91.

When my husband needed to go not nursing care, I thought my life had come to an end, however, I couldn't have been more wrong.
I cannot praise the care and staff enough, they all treat you as part of a family. We were very surprised to celebrate our Ruby anniversary there. We will share many happy
hours spent at Manor Place, each day, always brings a smile. I cannot thank you all enough. Full praise to Manor Place.

Despite mum's dementia, we had always hoped that she would live out her days at home with dad but this recently became impossible. With trepidation, we accepted that mum needed more constant and specialist care than we could provide. From the moment we walked into Manor Place, we were all made extremely
welcome. There is a constant, quiet buzz of smiling and respectful staff who obviously care about every one of their guests. Mum's room is clean, light and airy, the lounge that she spends most of her days in is a grand home from home. We feel that we are fully involved in and consulted on, mum's care and mum looks comfortable, calm and peaceful. We have been accepted into the family feel that the home engenders. The management and staff have made a difficult decision, that we did not want to make, easier to accept as we are certain that mum is receiving constant quality care.

My mum only spent 4 weeks in Manor Place, she was receiving end of care life. I could not fault the staff, they were all so very kind to mum and me. The home is lovely, old, warm, welcoming and it felt like home. The rooms are spacious, clean and bright. We could hear the birds sing and the church bells
ringing, mum loved that. Thank you to the management, nurses, carers, kitchen staff and cleaners, you are lovely and a brilliant team, it was a pleasure to get to know you all in such a short time. Thank you for looking after my mum as if she was your own mother.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.313)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.313) out of 10 for Orangery Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.813 for Orangery Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 32 Ratings = 4.813

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Orangery Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.25

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
