Hartwell Lodge is located half a mile from Fareham town centre and is set in an exclusive residential area. The home provides a range of quality care services including: residential, dementia, respite, nursing, palliative or end-of-life care and day care.

The bedrooms at Hartwell Lodge are individually decorated and have en-suite bathrooms, while a conservatory dining room adds light and airiness to the home. Residents have a choice of two lounges to reside in, depending on whether they choose to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet or participate in a variety of activities with other residents.

Activities are an extremely important part of the day-to-day life at Hartwell Lodge. A dedicated co-ordinator schedules a variety of activities for residents, which can be adapted to meet their needs. One-to-one activities can also be organised in the rooms of residents who are less able, if preferred.

Hartwell Lodge has trained cooks who provide freshly prepared, nutritious dishes at every mealtime. The meals can be adapted to suit the needs of each resident, whether it be a simple preference or a dietary requirement.

Having cared for our dad for a number of years the time had come when the deterioration in his Alzheimer's, no longer being able to properly care for himself and then a spell in hospital when my sister and I realised that we could no longer provide the ongoing care that he needed. Hartwell Lodge Care
Home came straight to mind with one of his brothers already there. He was welcomed into the Hartwell family straight away and nothing is too much trouble for all the wonderful staff. The home is very clean, warm and comfortable and Dad now appears settled and its a huge relief to know that staff are on hand 24/7 to meet his needs. We are always warmly welcomed when visiting him and we too feel part of the Hartwell family. Thank you to all the staff.

Mum, who is 97 and was still living in a bungalow until just before Christmas when she became Ill and had to go into hospital. The NHS made her well enough to leave hospital but unfortunately, she could no longer live alone and she had to go into a care home. Obviously, we as a family were worried about
where she could live and after looking around at different homes we were fortunate enough to get her into Hartwell Lodge in Fareham.
The whole process of getting her into the home from the hospital with the advice from the Manager was absolutely trouble-free. We believe the care she receives is superb and it would be unfair to name individuals as all the staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for them, even visitors are offered tea/ coffee and biscuits, it really is a home from home and whilst being very professional the atmosphere is not regimented in any way.
We are really pleased that we were lucky enough to get Mum into Hartwell Lodge.

I always find everyone so friendly and helpful at the home. While I am visiting my Aunty I always fill relaxed and enjoy my visit I can only thank all the staff for making it a truly family atmosphere.

My sister moved into Hartwell Lodge in 2021, and it was so perfect for her. She loved it when we visited Hartwell. Everyone was so nice, and it remained so till the end of my sister's life. I would recomend this place very highly, as had no problems at all. The staff are all brilliant and keep you well
informed of what is happening (doctors visiting my sister and so on), which stopped me from worrying. As I say, I can't fault any of the staff, very caring and they were all lovely. Thanking you for making my sister's last 12 months of her life since she went into Hartwell really happy.

So impressed with the professionalism and kindness provided by the team at Hartwell. Mum was very unsettled at first, having struggled to understand she could no longer cope at home, but is now enjoying activities with other residents and looking so much healthier and content. A huge decision for anyone
to make but also a huge weight off our shoulders now we know she is safe, happy and looked after.

My father-in-law moved into Hartwell Lodge in August. We chose it after visiting several others as it was so homely and welcoming. The manager supported us through the hospital discharge process, which was far from straight forward, but we got there in the end. There are activities every day and all
his social, wellbeing and care needs are well met. The staff have all been very caring and supportive, it's a huge relief to know he is safe and well care for. We have no hesitation in recommending Hartwell Lodge to others.

My dad moved into Hartwell Lodge in May 2020. The hardest decision my sister and I have ever made. He was in a terrible state mentally and physically, but over time he has settled. He always looks clean fresh and comfy. To be honest, the best he's looked in years. He is now in bed full time, but still
manages a smile and a laugh. I cannot thank Hartwell Lodge enough. It has been a huge relief to know he is safe at last. Thank you! Thankyou! Thankyou! I would definitely recommend.

I can't praise the staff more highly at Hartwell Lodge. The support, care and patience given to Mum has been outstanding during her time there, who has now, sadly, passed away. She was treated with compassion and empathy given her dementia and underlying health conditions. She became part of the Hartwell
'family' and was in the best place, receiving the best possible attention from people who really care. We always felt supported and informed about Mum's well-being and condition. The appointment of an activities manager really helped Mum, who enjoyed being 'in the moment' during these, three times a day, sessions. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending this care home to friends and family.

Brilliant staff here the management made the whole process seem very straightforward and put me and my sisters at ease as we were very worried about putting my dad In to care.
He’s been there for a couple of months now and has made a great connection with both staff and other residents.
Really recommend
this place to any one who is thinking of putting anyone one they love in to care.

My mother in law had previously stayed at Hartwell Lodge after a fall at her home, she thoroughly enjoyed her time there. She returned to Hartwell permanently after her health started to decline, we had total peace of mind as the staff were amazing, very friendly and caring. The Manager was very friendly,
professional and kept us updated on Mum. Sadly my Mother in law passed, and we can't thank the manager and her staff enough for all the care and compassion they showed us, we would highly recommend Hartwell Lodge to anyone in need of care

The manager made a visit to our home to carry out a very thorough initial assessment of my partner's needs in preparation for his five-night respite stay at Hartwell Lodge Care Home. This care home is so welcoming and homely, dispelling any misgivings that family may have of trusting that their loved

The responsibility of passing Mum's needs onto strangers filled me with dread. Those fears started to be allayed the first time we set foot into the home. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and could not do more to settle Mum in. There is access to her whenever I need it and that flexibility
is vital for me as I am working full time. The manager is very accessible and responds very quickly to any queries raised. The physical and mental requirements of the residents are met and there is something put on for them every day to keep them active in body and mind. The other residents have been welcoming to Mum and she has made friends quicker than I expected. This is a tremendous blessing as that was a real concern of mine because Mum is not particularly outgoing. The food is good, so I am told and there is a spacious well-kept garden for the residents to use as well. Whilst it was difficult to pass responsibility for Mum onto others, I am very happy with our choice.

I live away and can’t get to see my Dad as and when I’d like to so Hartwell lodge, being up to date with technology, allow me to use video calls to speak to my Dad as and when I can. I’m very grateful for this and it’s comforting to know he’s safe and happy.

My Grandmother is in the incredible care of Hartwell Lodge Care Home and my family and I couldn't be more grateful for the incomparable levels of care given to her by the team here. Nothing is too much for them, they continually involve us in decision making for her, continually update us with how Nan
is getting on, the facilities are perfect for her needs, the vast array of entertainment, the catering, the prompt way they deal with any additional needs (equipment or medical attention), everything is just wonderful we couldn't imagine her being anywhere else know, we sleep easy at night knowing she's in the best hands.

We chose Hartwell Lodge Care Home for my wonderful Mum, last September, when we could no longer meet her needs at home and immediately knew we had made the right decision. They are a caring, friendly team with all the necessary skills and experience. The manager and staff were excellent at keeping us
updated and welcoming us in and this was especially the case during the last few weeks when she was approaching end of life. A big thank you to them all. We would recommend the home.

In July 2021 our Mum suddenly needed 24-hour care. Although we considered other care homes, Hartwell Lodge Care Home had been highly recommended by a family friend whose relative had received excellent care there. I viewed the home with my brother and our first impression of a well-run home with a warm,
caring atmosphere has proved right since Mum moved in. We were very grateful that the manager and team responded quickly when we asked for a room as soon as possible. Since then the staff have been very caring and supportive. Mum has been helped to settle in and she tells us that she enjoys the food. We now have ‘peace of mind’ that Mum is safe and well cared for.

Dad moved in on respite initially in July and this became permanent when we saw how much better he was in the care of Hartwell Lodge Care Home. His conversation has grown again and he is learning how to engage and enjoy others around him after 18 months in lockdown. Hartwell staff have helped my dad
to settle and love his new environment. My sister rang the other day and he couldn’t get off the phone quick enough as he was eager to go and meet up with his friends. He can be difficult so to hear this was amazing. He has got to this point due to the amazing care and patience from the staff at Hartwell. I have readily offered the number to others looking for care for their loved ones

My mum came in May until she passed away in August. The care was amazing and she was so well looked after. The home was spotless, Mum was always clean and tidy. When Mum came towards end of life care the staff were fantastic nothing would be any bother. They also cared for me and my family - what more

Jennifer is very passionate about her role as Manager and has a vast knowledge of the care sector. With several CQC inspections under her belt she is very well equipped to ensure the service is offering high quality care as well as meeting requirements. She prides herself on being caring both personally and professionally and she feels that combining the two helps her to empathise and have positive relationships with residents and their loved ones. She is proud to have been named an "exemplar" manager by our CQC inspector.
