My Mother is almost 103 years old, blind and very deaf. She lived alone, but after experiencing falls, she and we decided it was time for her to be cared for in a home. She spent 6 weeks in a care home but was very unhappy and so was transferred to the New Forest Nursing Home. She was welcomed warmly,
given a lovely light room and has been happy ever since. She has been in the home for approx 18 months. The staff are very kind and caring. It is not easy for them because of her blindness and being deaf, but she has never complained. Her medical needs are looked after well and she says the food is very good. There are regular activities, although Mum does not take part because of her disabilities. The decoration is to a very high standard. We feel blessed to have found such a wonderful home.

My dad was lucky enough to be admitted to the New Forest Nursing Home just before Christmas. While he wasn't there for long, as he has sadly now passed away, I just want to put on record what a wonderful place this is. The staff looked after him with so much care, putting his wellbeing and dignity at
the heart of everything they did.
So thank you so much New Forest Nursing Home, it's good to know that there are still people who care.

My Mum has settled in very well and has benefited from the many activities that you have there. Including gardening club, crafts and enjoying being taken out in the garden and outside the home. She has enjoyed listening to the singers that come in to entertain and the staff seem friendly and attentive.
She
has said how much she is enjoying being there. Particularly as she came from hospital, quite unwell and unsteady on her feet. And her home had begun not to work for her and her independence. She is enjoying the food as well and always mentions there are choices should she not like anything. She has begun to make friends with the residents and staff. A most positive experience for her. It's nice to visit her as a son and not as a carer, so we have benefited too.

Following discharge from hospital after a fall my mother became a resident.
The team were caring and attentive to her needs and prioritised her dignity and comfort at all times.
I was always greeted with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional and the room was kept to a
very high standard.

I visited my friend's mum several times during Jan and Feb 2024 and always found her spotless and well cared for. The staff, from the receptionist to the catering staff and carers, were always happy and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
You couldn't find fault with the compassion
and care which my friend's mum received from the minute she arrived after being discharged from hospital after breaking her hip and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

My late Mother was a resident here for 3 months from February 2024. My Mother was admitted to the home following surgery for a fractured neck of femur. Prior to this, she had been independently mobile. The surgery went well and Mum was sitting out of bed whilst she was in hospital. Initially, the home
appeared good, however, they did not offer rehabilitation and they did not adhere to requests for agreed care. For example, my Mother did not want male carers attending to her personal care but this was disregarded on more than one occasion. There was a disconcerting lack of consistency in the quality of the care from individual staff.

From the first day My mother-in-law arrived at the home, we have found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble.
She came in as end-of-life and feeding at risk from the 2nd day she asked me if she could have something to eat the senior nurse and chef obliged with
some puree-cooked food, which we spoon-fed her, we took it slowly as she hadn’t had any food in hospital in the prior 7 weeks. She thoroughly enjoyed it. We were able to take her outside with her great-grandchildren for an Easter egg hunt. Easter Sunday was her birthday, the staff went out of their way to give her a cake card and present. Afterwards, she did not want to go back to her room she stayed for a while in the lounge. This was the first time she had mixed with people in many years. This is the review for the first few weeks of her stay. We are incredibly happy so far.
She has now been here for 5 weeks and improving every day.

Sometimes it's difficult to find the words to adequately reflect the quality of an experience and that's the case with the New Forest Nursing Home and all the staff who work there. My father entered the home for palliative care after four months in hospital, where he had become extremely distressed.
We visited him two days after his admission and the difference in him was astounding. He was calm, smiling and couldn't wait to tell us how beautiful the view of the grounds was from his window. He received wonderful care, in every sense of the word. He was given respect and dignity and he was delighted that all the staff took the time to chat to him and to laugh and joke with him. Care was extended to all our family, with chats and updates on the phone and the care and compassion shown to my elderly mother was a tremendous help to her - I'd also like to mention the care taken to give my father a room with a view of the grounds after I'd mentioned his love of nature. Five stars plus.

The care provided to my father has been consistently good. The staff always seem kind and cheerful. Health problems were efficiently monitored and appropriate action taken. Liasion with the local GP appeared to be very good. The food was consistently good and wholesome and the overall atmosphere friendly
and welcoming.

We met the Resident Liaison Manager on our visit to this care home. She was the first person we'd seen at a care home that asked about Mum and the care she needed and made sure they had the facilities and could meet her needs as she needed special care for an NG tube. We left our visit knowing we had
found the perfect place. Everything felt so right. They made Mum so welcome on her first day, even moved the room round and found an electric recliner chair which we placed by the window with view to the garden. They really cared and made Mum and our family very welcome. Mum said that she was not used to such first-class service from everyone she came into contact with. Which made us happy also as it was end of life care. They made sure she was always comfortable. It is a lovely care home everyone is friendly caring and helpful from the management, nurses, careers and kitchen staff. My wife and I are so grateful and could not thank them enough for the love, care, and respect they gave her.

Whilst I was very grateful for the speedy assessment and availability of a bed, this was not the best placement for my mother who did not respond well. The staff are lovely, friendly and caring and the welcome at reception was lovely.
The constant call of bells for help was irritating both for the
resident and visitors and it might be worth considering the use of a pager system to alert staff members that residents are seeking help.
The activities provided were varied but sadly my mother chose not to engage.

My family were a bit worried about Mum going into a nursing home as we really wanted her to be at home. We had nothing to worry about from the first day the staff welcomed us and provided exemplary care and support to both Mum and us. They were compassionate and professional and nothing was too much
trouble. Although Mum was bed-bound if she wasn't, the setting, grounds and location provide a tranquil place for residents and family. I cannot recommend this home enough.

My mum went into the home last October for palliative care; she also had dementia, and she had a lovely room and liked to stay in it; we did take her to the quiet room once or twice.
My sister and I liked all the staff and got on well - we were rung up if anything was wrong and kept informed right
till the end. They have parties and plenty of things going on.

Every member of staff was helpful, pleasant and very caring. The nursing care was amazing, ulcerated legs cleared up within days, which amazed us. End-of-life care was dignified, and the support was wonderful.

The manager and staff couldn't have been more helpful when my father had to be admitted for emergency respite. Carers and nurses are lovely with him and thankfully he has decided to stay and is very happy and comfortable. Food is excellent and staff are always on hand to help and treat him with care,
compassion and respect.

Thanks to the wonderful carers and nurses and a big thanks to the chef (most wonderful chef) for delivering a terrific menu to suit each resident. The team always work so hard to keep the home looking perfect. The lady at reception always has a happy face, making people feel welcome and part of the
family. And the ladies that do activities bring smiles and laughter to the residents but thanks to the man without whom the residents wouldn't be able to go out and about and is wonderful with them. Last of all a big thanks to the maintenance guys, who are always friendly to the residents and make a big effort. It's in a big beautiful setting, just like my dad wanted to live in. He is at his happiest when in the garden.

My sister and I cannot praise New Forest Nursing Home enough for the care, attention and respect given to our mother in the three months she was there. Wonderful, friendly staff, lovely room and facilities and always clean. We were always made welcome when we visited and were kept informed of any issues.
Mother was comfortable and contented and most importantly, safe. We are so grateful.

Working for eleven years as a Social Worker and Team Manager in Adult Services, Jacqueline relished supporting care providers with their safeguarding, quality and compliance requirements. Based on this experience, she then sought a move into working with a residential care provider. Jacqueline approached Allegra Care first, as she felt that the company’s values, care principles and household model aligned very closely with her own vision of what good care should look like. As Regional Manager, her passion for outstanding care is self-evident as she supports homes and colleagues across Hampshire.
