As a family, we have been very pleased with the care our loved ones have received.
One relative had a short period of end-of-life care in September 2021 and he was cared for with dignity and comfort.
Another relative has had long-term care with debilitating Alzheimer's and the staff have been like
a second family for our loved one. She is cared for with a lot of love.
We are so grateful to the wonderful staff at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home.

I moved my mother to Cedar Lawn Nursing Home in June 2021. She has a big, airy room with two bay windows bringing in a lot of light, overlooking the lawn and flowerbeds. There are tailored and imaginative activities every day which my mother usually chooses to get involved in. The staff are very caring
with a great sense of humour and willing to go the extra mile to make everyone welcome. The food is excellent, always freshly cooked with a choice of menu. The communal facilities are light and spacious with a dedicated activities room. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff - they all play their part in the smooth running of the nursing home where the residents require a lot of individual care and attention.

I can not thank all at the home enough.
Their continual care, comfort and respect shown to Mother is fantastic.
In this difficult period of Mother’s life, it is nice to know we are getting the help and support that we and she needs.
We also appreciate the facilities provided through these Covid
times that has allowed us to maintain a form of contact through the glass-fronted visiting room.
We appreciate Mother’s condition makes things difficult for all but you handle this with care and consideration.
Fantastic staff and fantastic facilities which deserve a massive thank you from us.

I can highly recommend this care home, the staff are attentive, kind and sympathetic to my mother's needs.
My mother says the food is lovely and good size portions unlike the first home my mother went to, she doesn’t go hungry that’s for sure. Some of the team have been here for some years so you get
a kind of family feeling and the chef is always fun to talk to and has my mother in stitches most of the time. The office team are amazing at getting the right help for my mother. All in all, I can’t recommend this home enough and I’m extremely grateful my mother is a resident here, it takes a huge weight off my shoulder knowing she’s happy.

My mother entered Cedar Lawn three years ago with dementia and needing nursing care.
In those three years as her health has deteriorated the level of care has always been exceptional in meeting her complex needs.
We always appreciate the warm, engaging welcome we receive from staff when we visit.
They have created a warm, family atmosphere within the home.
We are truly thankful to have found an outstanding home within Cedar Lawn for our very precious Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.

Whenever I am asked about the health and welfare of my aunt, I can reply with complete confidence that she is very well looked after indeed. She is safe, warm, well-fed with a wonderful choice of home-cooked food and entertained to the level of her choice. Her welfare is paramount, with regular visits
from the hairdresser, podiatrist and priest. She always has clean clothes and similarly, her surroundings are kept spotless. The home itself may look a little old fashioned in some ways, but within that comes the comfortable feeling that it is a home - her home - and not a clinic. The staff at Cedar Lawn are caring, kind, polite and cheerful and give her confidence and dignity in her life there. Medical matters are promptly reported which is reassuring. The staff have dealt with the many challenges that Covid presents to the absolute best of their ability and are always helpful if I have any questions. Well done Cedar Lawn!

My mum stayed at Cedar Lawn for 6 weeks of respite care. She was wonderfully looked after. It is a small and friendly home where all the staff are professional and caring and they treated her and us with the respect and personal attention we would wish. We would thoroughly recommend the nursing home
to others.

My mother came to live at Cedar Lawn following a stroke some three years ago.
We have always been impressed by the ‘feel’ of the place and the friendliness and kindness of the staff. This includes not just the nursing staff and care assistants but also the staff that run the kitchen, laundry, housekeeping,
activities and maintenance.
The house and grounds are well maintained, the food is very good and if a problem does occur I have found that it is dealt with promptly.

Bianca

Bianca Giurca

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2019

After Bianca qualified as a nurse in Romania in 2000, her passion for helping others saw her seeking a career in community nursing care. To achieve and further this ambition, she moved to England in 2005, working as a nurse in a care home.


Having joined in Cedar Lawn in 2019, she is now in 2022 the Registered Manager. Bianca loves the warm, welcoming atmosphere and delights in the joy that the staff team bring to residents.


Izzy

Izzy Spears

Job Title: Administrator

Joined: 2011

Izzy began working at Cedar Lawn in the domestic team in 2011 and worked in many of the other departments over the years, before settling into the role of Administrator in 2022.


After initially assisting home manager Bianca with some small admin tasks during the Covid period. Izzy soon realised that the administrator role suited her skills much more than anything else she had done at Cedar Lawn. Izzy particularly enjoys helping others and getting to know the residents more. Being part of a supportive team who all work together to ensure Cedar Lawn is a happy home is another bonus in her current role, so when the opportunity to move into the administrator role permanently came up it was the obvious next step in her career and she has gone on to flourish in the role.


Izzy has proved herself to be an invaluable member of the team, always there to support not just their residents but also their families and friends and other members of the Cedar Lawn Team
In her spare time.


Izzy loves to travel and visit new countries whenever possible, enjoying the different cultures and cuisines, Izzy also loves spending time with her family, especially her nephews


Jacqueline

Jacqueline Smith

Job Title: Regional Manager South

Joined: 2023

Working for eleven years as a Social Worker and Team Manager in Adult Services, Jacqueline relished supporting care providers with their safeguarding, quality and compliance requirements. Based on this experience, she then sought a move into working with a residential care provider. Jacqueline approached Allegra Care first, as she felt that the company’s values, care principles and household model aligned very closely with her own vision of what good care should look like. As Regional Manager, her passion for outstanding care is self-evident as she supports homes and colleagues across Hampshire. She also thinks laughter is a great tonic – and her cheeky sense of humour is infectious.


Away from work, Jacqueline enjoys eating out, cinema and horse racing. As a mother of two grown-up children, she enjoys spending time with her friends, her family and her two grandchildren.

After working for 14 years as a renal nurse specialist, Jacqui changed her career to be around more for her young children. Her wide-ranging experience since then encompasses a number of rewarding positions across a variety of sectors, including team leader for Jobsite; Southern Team manager for Westfield Health; management for a specialist lender helping people rebuild their credit profile and, most recently, moving into the elderly care sector with Barchester, for whom she worked in community awareness and fundraising.


Now, as Regional Relationship Liaison Manager for Allegra Care, she brings her diverse portfolio of skills to the task of supporting the homes and helping the company develop its profile in the elderly care sector.
