Sutton Manor offers independent living with additional support available and a care home providing nursing care beds all set within 60 acres of beautiful parkland estate, the former home of film magnate Lord Rank; the ideal blend of high-quality care within a comfortable and beautiful setting.

The 38 independent living properties are located throughout the grounds and include a converted stable block, thatched cottages, newly built residences and a historic water tower.

These are available through a lifetime residency agreement, with nursing home beds available on a weekly fee.

Respite and convalescent care is catered for within the nursing home, which offers 38 individual apartments spanning spacious, private suites through to cosy bed sitting rooms, all with a host of period features.

Single rooms enjoy en-suite bathrooms, while suites also include a separate drawing room and one or more bedrooms, suitable for couples.

On-site facilities include an elegant drawing room, hairdressing salon, reading room, garden room and extensive landscaped grounds and is just a short stroll from the village of Sutton Scotney’s amenities or a short drive from both Winchester and the bustling town of Stockbridge.

A qualified nursing team is on duty 24-hours a day in the nursing home, which prides itself on the exceptionally caring nature of its staff. Food is freshly prepared by dedicated chefs and served in the beautiful dining room or conservatory. Domestic support ensures that all household chores are taken care of, allowing residents to fully enjoy their surroundings and busy events programme.

The independent living properties are supported by a team of friendly wardens, maintenance and gardening teams with regular outings ensuring there is plenty to entertain. Additional support, if required, can be arranged through the company’s own registered domiciliary care agency, HomeCare Finder Ltd.

My experience of Sutton Manor was of the highest quality, starting from the day he was admitted in April. Being admitted to two hospitals previously. He was a very sick man on arrival but after some excellent care and good food he flourished. From the manager downwards (that is not meant to be demeaning
to the rest of the staff). The staff were kind, efficient and from my point of view delightful to deal with. He was given a lovely room, that was completely redecorated before he moved in, on the ground floor, with a small conservatory with direct access to the lovely grounds. He had as many of his own furnishings that he wanted, including a great many pictures, these were put up most expertly by the caretaker.

My parents moved into one of the independent living thatched cottages in 2019. I live in the U.S. but visit them annually for several weeks. Suffice it to say, I already have my cottage picked out! This place is fabulous. Everyone who works there has been kind, responsive, helpful, interested and interesting
and pleasant. The 4-course lunches served in the Manor House are superb. My mother has cooked every meal for 65+ years and she's in heaven now. The grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained. Perfect for a walk or stroll. The town is tiny but has a small shop, pub and hair salon. Sutton Manor has a driver who will take residents to the grocery store, the train station (1/4 mile away) or on other short errands. I can't say enough about the employees. They've all been so kind to my parents and my parents truly enjoy talking with them and getting to know them. So many activities and celebrations on special days. I'm so happy they are there! And I get to visit!

Sutton Manor sets a gold standard for kind, attentive and respectful care.
My father has multiple medical needs and requires a lot of attention including for very undignified care procedures. He is never made to feel a nuisance, his concerns and suggestions are listened to and he regards the staff
with genuine affection. This applies to owners, nurses, junior carers, caterers, receptionists, laundry workers, caretakers and gardeners. It is a community that works. The communal spaces are elegant and comfortable and there are large gardens and parkland with sloping lawns and magnificent trees. I hope Sutton Manor is still there when I need residential care!

Most beautiful place to live. Everything is taken care of very promptly. Lunches in Sutton Manor are fabulous. Staff there are superb, the wardens are always available to help. Ground staff friendly and helpful. Cleaners excellent. One of the owners manage the site with generosity and warmth.

My mother was booked in for a 2 week respite stay however upon arrival it became apparent that it would need to be a permanent move and this was arranged with great efficiency.
The kindness that my mother received each and every day from the staff was truly wonderful. It was reassuring to know that
she was in a homely, caring and supportive environment receiving the best nursing care and attention that she and I could have hoped for.
I feel confident that my mother couldn't have been anywhere better and the entire team at Sutton Manor made a very difficult time bearable thanks to their support.

I went to Sutton Manor for two weeks respite care, as it is half way between my daughter and a son. The care I received exceeded all my expectations and when the time comes for me to leave my home and friends, whenever that might be, it is the only place I shall go to. The beautiful house and surrounding
parkland were welcoming, the care was gentle and attentive but never intrusive. Lunch was the main meal for residents, but on the second night a dinner was provided and each course was in memory of a country through which the Orient Express ran, the cook excelled herself.
Because I was there to be near my children, I did not join in the bridge group or other activities apart from a film show one afternoon.
My room was not large, but had everything needed in it, a spacious bathroom and beautiful view at the front of the house and overlooking the park.

My Mother's move from The Mews into the Manor was arranged swiftly, where she had spent twenty years, with a warm welcome from the staff. The staff are all charming and helpful and our family is happy to know she is safe and cared for.
The standard of the meals now is excellent with such an enthusiastic
new cook. The Drawing room has also improved so hopefully will be used more for visitors. There are more activities I am led to believe. The pre Christmas review shows the interaction of those who are independent of the Manor joining in with the Manor residents. Sutton Manor celebrates certain special days throughout the year and is excellent at offering hospitality to the locals.

The team at Sutton Manor are outstanding in the care and attention they provide for my Dad. This starts at 'the top' with the excellent leadership by the manager and can be seen throughout the whole team, nurses, carers, catering, ground staff etc.
Nothing is ever too much trouble and if there are
ever any concerns, they are responded too and acted on quickly, supported by excellent communication.
A great job well done, and I would whole heartedly recommend the Sutton Manor team for anyone looking into residential care.

My husband recently spent time in Sutton Manor following surgery, having previously been beautifully cared for during a months' stay earlier in the year. The manager and the whole team are absolutely charming and couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating of anything he needed. Nothing was too
much trouble pre-admission or during his stay, the nursing, housekeeping, catering, reception, admin and maintenance teams were excellent and keen to do anything needed to make my husband's stay as comfortable as possible while he recovered. The check in and out process was particularly appreciated being so close to and after Christmas. The house and grounds are beautifully kept and in our two experiences this year, we couldn't recommend Sutton Manor more highly. Thank you to the manager all the team.

Dad spent the last five years of his life at Sutton Manor, where staff were so very kind and caring - providing the considerable amount of care and support that he needed. My mother moved into Sutton Manor in July this year and the staff could not have been kinder and more accommodating. Prior to moving in, the team redecorated the bathroom to make it easier for my mother to use and went to great lengths to ensure everything was just right. The room itself is delightful
and very welcoming.
From the manager, to the nurses, reception team and maintenance team, they could not do more to support and help my mother settle in. As always, change isn't easy and they have made what could have been a difficult time so much easier with their kindness and consideration.

My mother moved into Sutton Manor in early December 2022 with some challenging medical needs that required palliative care for an unknown period of time. The care that Mum received could not have been better for the four months that she was there, with genuine warmth and compassion shown by all staff
members, irrespective of their roles. I was able to visit regularly and came to know many of the staff well, and they were excellent at keeping me informed about her condition and needs as they changed.
The building and grounds of the Manor are truly wonderful, and the facilities and quality of care, maintenance and food provided are second to none. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking to place their elderly relative.
My mum sadly died in mid-April 2023, but I can honestly say that she had a fantastic four months at the Manor. Her end of life was managed with real dignity by the home and was a genuinely peaceful experience that was exactly as her family wished.

My mother transferred from Winton House in February. The transition could have been very traumatic as she suffered from mixed dementia, but she was made so welcome by Sutton Manor that she was immediately settled. I visited the following day, and the staff had set her room up with her personal items,
and she was completely at ease, smiling at the staff, who popped in to see her. Although communication was little and she was immobile, she spent time integrated with others in the lounge and was included in activities wherever possible, eating her meals with the others as often as she was able.
I was always updated with changes in her health and made very welcome when I visited. The staff knew her very well, adapting her care according to her needs and moods. She was always very well cared for with personal hygiene, and I felt she was safe and people genuinely cared for her as if their own. The kindness they showed her and us when she was dying was amazing and made a very difficult time much easier.

My mother has been a resident at Sutton Manor for over five years now, and this year celebrated her 100th birthday, which everyone at Sutton Manor helped to make really special.
The staff are always considerate of my mother's feelings of independence and consult with me before changing anything that
may disturb or confuse her. She is mentally alert and will question things; I am happy to work with the staff to ensure she understands why certain actions have to be taken.
Recently, her shoes were no longer suitable. Her usual pair were worn out, and she was resorting to a pair that did not support her feet properly. Indeed all her shoes in the wardrobe were unsuitable. I have removed these from the wardrobe and purchased a comfortable, safe pair to replace the ones she is resorting to. It was far easier for me to do this than it would be for the staff. It keeps me abreast of how she is coping, and it is rewarding to have input in her continuing care and help Sutton Manor in any way.

Kamala has been part of the Amesbury Abbey Group for 23 years, including 20 as a Registered General Nurse. She gained considerable experience at both Winchester and Salisbury Hospitals, in conjunction with her initial duties within the Group, before moving to a full-time role for 2 years as Deputy Manager at Winton House, followed by 3 further years as Registered Manager. Kamala took up her role as Manager at Sutton Manor in the Summer of 2012 and was a finalist for Care Home Manager of The Year in 2018, winning the award in 2021.
