Welcome to Forest Care Village Care Centre in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. The modern facility offers 24-hour nursing care for adults with life-long physical conditions, particularly those with Acquired Brain Injuries and neurological conditions and24 hour nursing care for those aged 65 and over.

The home is blessed with a dedicated team of nursing and support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment. They work in partnership with visiting therapists to offer short and long-term placements, palliative, respite and post-operative care.

The purpose-built facility comprises 178 bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities; a large physiotherapy suite; music and sensory facilities and courtyard sensory gardens. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home.

While the home's bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the modern communal lounges offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite film.

At Forest Care Village, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of their activities take place within the home environment and include art workshops, handicrafts, garden parties, and barbecues. They empower individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. I like the art work and the few times that we can sing. I like the mixed gender in here. My brother married in 1979 and then it was daddy and myself alone at home.

The moment you walk into Forest Care Village Home in Borehamwood, there is a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly with lovely music filling the conservatory.
The laundry service is superb, as with the catering.
Most importantly my brother, who has been resident for the past couple of years, is
clean and contented.
Keep up the excellent service.

Extremely satisfied overall, the care, the food, laundry, activities suitable for various residents and for my cousin's particular needs.
Activities include visitations from various churches to come and conduct church services and sing with residents regularly.
The home is generous in many ways to

An enjoyable place to live. Management and services provided have improved a lot recently. All staff at Forest Care Village are welcoming and always having a good time. There are various communities in the home; kitchen, lifestyle, physio department and different units where residents with differing
conditions live and are treated to improve their quality of life. The home is well situated, close to the busy Borehamwood high street with its array of different and interesting shops.

The village has been through a big change, in my opinion for the better. All staff are fantastic, lots of new management that are always there. Very reassuring. My dad enjoys the constant activities including the trips. Feel confident he is well looked after.

Our mother was nursed here for End of Life. The staff treated us as family. They respected both ours and our mother's wishes and we can only thank them for this. Everybody went out of their way to ensure we have ALL looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Mum has been in Forest Care Village for two months referred through the NHS, we are so happy we are hoping to continue using this care home for the next three months self-funding. She has been so well looked after, the staff are really lovely, caring and very polite. The home is spotlessly clean and
the food is freshly cooked. Everyone has such a positive outlook on life, there are plenty of activities and the home is just off the high street in Borehamwood so there are lots of opportunities for taking the resident out for some shopping or a coffee. There is a 24 hours reception so visiting times are not restricted. If you are concerned for your loved one you can call anytime for an update and the resident can call you too, nothing is too much bother. Mum is recovering slowly, the carers are helping her to achieve her goal, coming to live me.

The room was very comfortable, as was the bed. It was good to have ensuite facilities and to have a wheelchair available whenever we wanted to take mum out.
The food was good especially the salads.
The staff were all very friendly, the physiotherapists were encouraging and the carers very helpful,
especially with foot washing.
Mum enjoyed her stay but was pleased to go home.

Due to an accident at work, I needed to enter Forest Care Village. The care and consideration I was given by all members of the team was excellent. In very difficult and unfamiliar circumstances. I felt listened to and cared for. My wishes and opinions were considered during my stay and met when possible.

My mum was in Forest Care for approx three and a half months. She had dementia and terminal cancer. I live 300 miles away and the staff would always update me if they had any concerns and when I rang every day they were always very cheerful and would tell me in detail how mum was and what she had eaten/done
etc. The nurses and carers took fantastic care of her and all her needs were met. In her last few months of life mum was very content and happy here.
Even as mum was passing away a nurse rang and put the phone to her ear so i could speak to her as she died. I cannot thank that member of staff enough for that.
A huge thank you to all the carers and nurses on Avalon that took care of mum. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

I am a dual-qualified general and mental health nurse, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) since 1985. I have been a manager in nursing and residential care homes since 2005. My passion is quality and clinical governance because this focuses on the people we support, ensuring excellence in care. I am proud to be the home manager at Forest Care Village interacting with my team and residents every day.
