The Chase is a modern, spacious, purpose-built home located in the town of Watford in Hertfordshire. The home offers warm, personal and compassionate care to residents and is well known for its outdoor activities and encouragement in resident health and wellbeing. Offering Residential, Nursing, Respite, Dementia, Palliative and Specialist Care, The Chase is full of committed, compassionate and caring individuals with specialist knowledge to provide the very best care.

Centrally located within a walking distance from Cassiobury Park, The Chase is located close to local shops, a pharmacy and a doctor’s surgery. The home is well connected by public transport and close to major road routes such as the M25 and M1 motorways.

Daily, tailored activities are all a part of life at The Chase, with activities ranging from cinema evenings in the in-house cinema, musical bingo, pampering in the in-house hair salon to gardening and afternoon teas. The dedicated activities coordinator works round the clock to innovate and deliver outstanding activities for residents to enjoy, based on their individual interests and wishes.

The Chase is a spacious and varied home offering 110 bedrooms that are able to be personalised with residents' own treasured belongings and furnishings. Bedrooms are freshly and tastefully decorated and are ready-furnished for residents to make their own. The home also offers various communal spaces such as smaller dining rooms, group activity spaces, chatty living rooms and quieter seating areas across the home for those who enjoy their own company.

The Chase has an excellent management team and are committed to delivering excellent care for each and every individual. The home is also well regarded in the wider community as a result of community outreach projects and activities.

The Chase Care Centre in Watford is a very good place for people with dementia like my husband. Is a well-run place with all staff who really care for the residents. My husband has been in The Chase for more than 3 years and he seems to be happy and well looked after. The staff is very approachable
and respond quickly if I have any queries. The food looks and smells very tasty and my husband enjoys every single meal. I trust their assessments and if there is a medical problem, my husband has GP appointment organised very quickly. Thank you very much The Chase.

My husband has been a resident in The Chase for over 18 months and the care he has received during that time has been consistently excellent. Not only do the staff provide professional and efficient care for the residents but they are constantly concerned for the well-being of the resident's family
as well. The day-to-day care and consideration for the comfort of the residents is matched by the swift and professional response in an emergency. Thank you and well done to all staff at The Chase.

A family member was here 15 years ago and we had a bad experience it was over packed and the staff did not listen. But now another member has come and the place looks so much better. The staff are very helpful and listen to what we say and check what the person likes to eat and they help us with any
questions we have, always there to help.

My mother was initially put into another care setting of which we had many issues. Having ended up back in the hospital she was then placed in The Chase of which we were initially very sceptical. But I must say what a breath of fresh air. We were immediately put at ease by their interest in our mother,
my father and my sister. All the staff are very friendly and can't do enough for her. Great work! Thank you for putting at ease!

Nice atmosphere. Staff are very bright and communicative. They are professional yet caring and personable. The environment is well-kept throughout. My aunt was cred for with great sensitivity and awareness of her needs by all staff (as were my husband and myself) Everyone from receptionists to the manager offered a very high level of care and dealt with my aunt's passing with equal care and sensitivity. My husband passed away on the 29th Nov 2023. He spent 4 years on the Charlie Chaplin Unit, and I can say, without a doubt, his care was amazing.
Whenever we visited (no appointment needed) he was always well-groomed, clean and tidy. The staff without exception treated him with love and care, always
ready to give a hug when requested by him, he was always so comfortable with them. At the end he wasn't alone, a member of staff was with him, which was a great comfort to the family. Also the staff cared for the family too, making sure we were okay. Wonderful, all of them.

The care and kindness demonstrated by reception, maintenance, housekeeping, nursing and care were superb without exception, the staff were polite considerate and gentle. The changes made and being made by the home manager have made/will make a comfortable home for residents. The activities team also
provide an excellent service to exercise the residents. The Watford Chase Care Home is a credit to the Health Care Group.

My dad came to The Chase in January 2023. At first he took a while to settle but now tells me he likes living here and that they look after him well. I am pleased with the friendliness of the staff and helpfulness when I need to ask questions. I feel that he is looked after and kept safe.

My dad had vascular dementia and entered The Chase Care Centre during Covid lockdown, May 2020. We had no idea what the home was like apart from web site tour. Then we had no visits, followed by restricted visits due to Covid. Staff were very caring during this difficult period. Dad was at the Chase
home for almost 2 years. It was definitely the best place for Dad. He was well looked after. He passed away at the Chase home on 1 May 2023 - with me his daughter, plus his awesome long time carer and awesome nurse by his side. They also took care of my mum in her last few weeks. Mum and dad passed away 8 weeks apart. The Chase will always be a special place in my heart. I still visit regularly to see staff and residents.

Staff are always kind to Mum and we always have a warm welcome from the staff. Mum's room needs re-decorating and her clothes in her drawers and wardrobe always look untidy. Staff still waiting for Mum's new mattress which was ordered at the beginning of 2023.
